Okay i clicked without seeing that it was ASMR, and was genuinely interested by keyboards… and what a pleasure to see that it was ACTUALLY MIXED WITH ASMR. Thank you ! Amazing video, relaxing and informative ! I have the RK61 from Bangood too lol
@@ashflame6888 *Edit* Oh! I'm dumb. We're talking about the accent keys, not the box. Just saw the actual board where he talks about it, and yeah, those are baby blue 👍
You are the asmr artist I needed in my life, I just didn't know about you until today. Perfection -- great voice, technique, and nerding out to the max. Thank you!!
What’s your current keyboard? I think it would be cool if you did a “ranking” video with all the keyboards you have featured on the channel! Another perfect vid too!
I wish you had the Onn brand keyboards from places like Walmart. "onn. Gaming Mechanical Keyboard with Blue Switches, Adjustable 16.8M LED Lighting (Software for Windows Only)" is how it's listed. I really like the keyboard I got there. It's so clicky, like a type writer! It was a full keyboard (I think) with number pad and everything. Rgb, all those usual features. I thought it was a huge upgrade from the simple non mechanical keyboards from like hp or something. I just want a baseline to know what's good and what isn't lol. But I've never used any of the keyboards you've shown, so it's hard to know if what I got is any good lol.
totally agree! I love these videos (informational + asmr) but these and other videos that review tech stuff are always a bit difficult to get into as a pretty much total outsider to hardware since I have no baseline or experience with this stuff.
The reason he doesn’t cover those is because big box brands in general are generally shit compared to what’s available from other sources for much less money
@@EF.BE.I I know what you mean. But I'd like to know to what degree is it shit haha. The one I got is 45 bucks. Which I thought was a pretty good deal for what it is, but I'm not sure. So I just think it'd be cool for him to grab an off the shelf budget mechanical keyboard and review it in comparison to all his enthusiast boards or from brands who make those budget keyboards specifically
Love theses videos!! Out of the ones you've tried which would you say would be a good quiet mechanical keyboard for both Gaming and of course quiet tying for office work.
Gateron switches really rival the original Cherry ones, and in some cases like Reds, the Gaterons are actually better. Yesterday I bought a K70 pro (newest version) and I'm incredibly happy with it and the speed switches. Mini boards do nothing for me (gotta have that numpad) and really don't have much to offer other than...they're small? I will say I love the hobbyist aspect of custon and DIY boards. I can appreciate the variety of switches and the interchangeability with them being based off the cherry housing and stem. That said, I remember this guy saying he likes cherry browns. I'd love to see him test out an old Alps board with tactical switches, or maybe not because then browns just turn into scratchy reds!
Hello! Cherry held the patent for many years over the mechanical switch and therefore built an illusion of a reputation that they were ‘the best mechanical keyboard manufacturer’ when, in fact, they were basically the only (other than cheap Chinese knock-offs as they don’t care about patents). The patent expired and since then, the market has exploded with new and brilliant switches. As a result, Cherry are now considered quite a poor manufacturer of switches with generally their whole catalog being lambasted for being overly scratchy and unpleasant (there are some exceptions such as the MX Hyperglides that, once broken in, are excellent switches, and some like Silent Red’s). The new Cherry Nixie switches (based off an 80’s design) are getting a positive reception. But generally speaking, steer clear of Cherry. I currently rock Momoka Frogs (cheap) and Gateron Oil Kings (premium). The Gateron Pro Yellow’s in this video are an excellent bargain option. Gateron, Wuque, Akko, JWK, c3 all make fantastic switches and I would strongly encourage you to check out some videos reviewing different switches before deciding what to put in your new board. I have an obsession with custom keyboards - it’s a really fun and satisfying (and expensive!) hobby :) I hope you enjoy!
