An insurance company covering everything is the stuff of utopian-novel-level dreams, for sure! But then, the company in question would actually have to have a sense of ethics and keep their paws out of politics. 😅
The funny thing is I'm from a crappy little East European country which used to have one of the worst communist dictatorships, on par with North Korea (no, really, our guy went there in 1971 and then decided to remake Romania in it's image, luckily we revolted and shot him in 1989) and yet here I am, currently undegoing chemo for lymphoma and all costs are covered by the state (I lie, I had to co-pay 10 lei - 2.13 USD - for a CT scan once, but I digress). And on top of that I get a year and a half of medical leave, also paid by the state. Of course, the bad thing is that, while the care itself is excellent (at least in the capital, hospitals elsewhere struggle mightily with lack of funds and personnel) you waste a lot of time just waiting around - and not for the actual checkup / treatment, but for the discharge paperwork afterwards. Also the payments from the state take about 6 months to actually arrive, during which time your employer is required by law to keep paying you. However, if you're self employed like I am, that turns into a real problem...

As someone who has a severely debilitating (and horribly stigmatized/demonized) psychological illness, as well as a mother who has a chronic autoimmune disease, and both of us constantly feel neglected by the USAs healthcare system and we don’t get any treatment bc we can barely afford it and it negatively affects every aspect of our lives to the point where we both want to move to a different country bc of it, thank you for making me feel seen and hopeful. 😂

Dear JB, you are such a talented asmrtist, very comforting and fun at the same time. One thing though is that the backgrounds that you use especially for medical-ish videos, are often quite sterile in feeling and not very comforting and I think that matters a lot. I often try not to look at the screen when the background is very sterile and a bit depressing. Dr. Feelgood should have a white spacious, openwindow office with lots green plants, that can still be clean and medical-like in its whiteness, but so much more feelgood-like than a dark, sterile typical doctor's room. Real life doctor's rooms would also benefit a lot from considering these things - it would put patients much more at ease.
I'll be doing this for real in just a little over a week. Though my insurance isn't quite as turbo-charged as the insurance in the video. Unfortunately. Lovely video, as always!

I’m pretty sure my insurance company was trying to covertly let your nurse know she was supposed to call John McClane because a blonde Professor Snape with the wrong accent was holding them all prisoner. But they said I could have all the free stuff and no take-backies.
It means that many Americans (including myself) have to take on serious debt if we want professional healthcare for illness or injury. If I were concerned I might have appendicitis, for instance, I’d probably wait until I was absolutely certain that it was very serious before going to a doctor, because I wouldn’t want to owe hundreds or thousands of dollars only to find out that my issue wasn’t something critical. Many people die because of this. Many more people suffer with chronic health issues and no treatment or medication. (For instance, you sometimes hear about diabetics who die because they were rationing their expensive insulin, or people who find out they have cancer that’s too advanced to be treated because they couldn’t afford to get it diagnosed early.)
