Hey y'all! In this ASMR energy healing role play, Dr. Empatha Leech conducts a Reiki Excavation using light triggers, energy plucking, and hypnosis techniques to uncover some of your most valuable core qualities.
I've been planning to do a whole multi-part series with this character for well over a year now, but since I kept finding myself putting it off, I decided I'd try introducing her with a more basic energy healing video.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON THE CHARACTER NAME: The “leech” reference isn’t meant as shade to anyone; I actually have a special connection to leeches and have one tattooed on my chest! This character’s name is something that feels very playful and affectionate for me.❤️ Below, I’m going to share something I wrote 3 years ago on the topic. It’s a bit long, but I’m sharing in case anyone happens to want more insight into the relationship I have with these little guys. ******** October 10, 2020 I was called a leech once, and the barb dug deep. There’s a popular form of wisdom that says we shouldn’t listen to what cruel people say about us, but I’ve found that sometimes the words that hurt me the most are the ones that are most worthy of my careful examination. The comparison played over and over in my head. Was I a leech? I do have a deep longing to be taken care of. For someone to hold to me close and give me the strength that I often don’t feel capable of generating myself. That longing has undeniably led me, on many occasions, to expect more from friends, partners, and family members than is fair. A couple of days ago, with the word “leech” stuck on replay in my head, I decided to spend some time reading about the creatures. I learned a lot. Most often, when I’ve heard leeches referred to by other people, it’s been in reference to the way that “old timey” physicians would attach leeches to people’s bodies in an attempt to heal them. I always thought of leeches as a symbol of bad medicine and useless superstition. I thought that they were, at best, useless, and at worst, something which would only weaken people who were at their most vulnerable. So I was surprised to find that leeches are actively used in medicine today, and that “hirudotherapy" is a practice that has been enjoying a revival since the 1970’s. Today, medicinal leeches are sometimes used as an adjunct to reconstructive and trauma surgery, and also may be used to treat conditions such as varicose veins, osteoarthritis, and tissue damage related to diabetes. Leech saliva contains an anesthetic-so the bites are not painful-as well as a variety of proteins, such as hirudin, which act as anticoagulants, allowing bleeding from the bite to continue for about ten hours after the leech has been removed. That continuous, controlled bleeding works to relieve venous congestion, reviving tiny veins in areas where the surrounding tissues might otherwise die from poor circulation. I find this concept fascinating, in both a literal, biological sense, and in a symbolic sense-the idea that sometimes, some part of us which has been wounded by trauma, which would otherwise slowly suffocate and die, must be gently bled for a while if it is to be brought back to life.

I haven’t commented on your videos in a while. To be honest, I’m the kind of guy who is hard on myself like you said, and often I just don’t see a place for asmr in my life. But your migraine video was so good…and I have migraines, so I just sort of got mesmerized by watching you and gradually I just let myself start watching you again, and here I am watching again, sore and beaten up from exercise (which I love and I gravitate more to than this), and in the exact state you like to put people in ha ha 😁

I was called a leech a couple of times in a really bad situation and it was so cruel and hurtful. As part of processing that, I did a bunch of research on leeches, and they’re actually very cool!❤

Most (maybe all?) are at least partially based on amplified parts of my own personality. That was a character improv trick I was taught a long, long time ago. I’m honestly not sure if I have a favorite character!
