FULL RESTORATION - 1997 GT PANTERA BICYCLE
• MOUNTAIN BIKE FULL RES...
A brand GT bike made in the USA with a long history.
This is a 1997 PANTERA model.
Intense red color, top model RockShox SID equipped.
Drivetrain: SHIMANO STX 24 SPEED
The frame was polished and a new sticker decal was attached.

I have a small size 16 - 1996 Zaskar in iridescent pink , but I get picked on if seen riding it when around young cyclists . The older , long term friends that work in the bicycle industry say that my Zaskar is quite trendy . Mine is future proofed with new old stock components fortunately . No removing rust or corrosion off components for me , fortunately .

That sounds great Robert. I think I might be broken because I never ever worry whether anything that I own is ‘on trend’ or not! I either like it or I don’t - and that’s all that matters to me about it (looks-wise, ie disregarding functionality). I’ve got an unfashionably old car, and bikes from three of the last four decades.

Fantastic. The freehub service was so good. I want more. I would watch proper multi episode restoration. Like the whole process. Sorcing the donor bike and period correct parts. Stripping it all off. Sanding, polishing and sealing the frame post decals. Tearing down the fork. Blueing. Anodizing. I will watch all of it. Think Project Binky.

Beautiful build. I mi my old GT triple triangle, I put massive mileage on it before I finally replaced it. Now I want to buy an old frame and build it better. Single 42 chainset, 11-46 11 speed cassette and hydrologic disc brakes.

Good job but why reuse that bottom bracket, chain rings that are obviously no good etc? Those are items that should be replaced.

I have a 1994 Giant Yukon in black / blue gloss and want to keep it as close to original as possible but with the exception of the Alivio MC 10 shifter / brake controls . The original ones it came with were very unreliable . The best I could replace them with were a set of Shimano ST - EF 28 , 3 x 7 's .

Реставрационные работы может он сделал и хорошо, но то, что он установил на голый некрашенный велосипед те же насыпные подшипники и смазал подсидел, вызывает у меня отвращение. Внешний вид у байка ужасный.

Da gibt er sich solche Mühe, das Fahrrad wieder neu zu machen - und dann klebt er die so hässliche Schriftzüge drauf, damit es aussieht, als wäre das Fahrrad vom Supermarkt. Schade! Das ist, als würde ich auf meinen Ferrari ganz gross "Ferrari" schreiben :-/
