Hey! Native Welsh speaker here. Your pronunciations are quite good! I know a little gaelic too and they were pretty good. Inspiring to hear non native speakers attempt these beautiful languages :)

Shaun Thomas I’m a non native speaker, in fact I’ve never lived in Wales but I do have some Welsh blood from my father. I’ve been learning Welsh for a few months. It’s a fabulous and interesting language. Just got back from a weekend in Caernarfon where a load of us from all over the UK were having a crack at chatting the lingo with the locals. We had a great time and were welcomed for our attempts by the locals who were genuinely amazed and impressed that we were learning yr Iaith. I can’t wait for my next immersion weekend.

MostlyJovial it's not bad considering our population is about 3 million. Especially when you consider the fact that the number of Welsh speakers increases annually since we have many welsh-only schools. So in that regard, our language is consistently growing in strength.

My Grandpa was Welsh and my Mum was born in Cardiff. they moved to Canada longg long ago and so I haven’t grown up learning any Welsh or much of the culture. videos like this are so soothing not only bc of your voice, but I feel so comforted connecting to my heritage:) thank u for making such a sweet video

Love your channel & beautiful, soft Nord/Midlands accent. Put me to sleep before when nothing else did. Irish, Scottish, Manx are Gaelic Celtic. Welsh, Cornish, Breton are Brythonic Celtic.

@@user-vi6wf4gh9x Cool, thanks West Yorkshire on the border; where his girl is from. Not far. Just till now, I thought Yorkshire was Midlands, but it's not. I wouldn't have said Midlands, if I had that correct. Beautiful accent. Some of my family is to the NW on Northumberland border.

Hey have you seen the show Britannia? Interesting take on the druids. It's mostly fantasy/fiction because the druids never wrote anything down but still a fun watch imo.

If there's a Creator, the voice she uses sounds exactly like yours because it's perfect. Another perfect thing are your cheek bones. Actually, this Creator just looks and sounds like you. Oh, and her name is also Kim. Anyway, you probably know this, but Gaelic words don't sound like they're spelled because the English messed it up when they transliterated it using the Latin alphabet. The French did the same thing to Vietnamese.

Yeah, this originally happened in the 5th Century, so modern linguistic knowledge didn't even exist to (maybe) make the transliteration better. So me calling them "English" before isn't quite right. Anglo-Saxon is more appropriate. Regardless, the first known written alphabet for Gaelic is called, Ogham, and is sort of Rune-like, but with less clear physical structure than traditional Germanic Runes. Ah, OBOD are you? I'm BDO (British Druid Order) myself. If you join or found a grove in our north-western neck of the woods within the next year or two, then watch out for The Grove of The Twin Waters in Runcorn (which I plan to found once I've passed my Druid grading) and your lot and mine might be able to do the occasional OBOD-BDO co-venture, Awen /l\.

Is that a southern accent? I don't live in Australia but I've heard other Australians in videos and in real life speak and yours sounds a little different and similar to the US southern accent. Mister Collins is right, she’s done a rather excellent collaboration vid with an ASMRtist from the south of England highlighting the English north-south divide. But don’t feel stupid, it’s a big, diverse old world misplacing someone’s accent is easily done. Though most of the time us northerners get mistaken for Scots. The Cockneys are usually the ones who are mistaken for Aussies.
