I’ve been getting some questions about the posters in the back- here’s where I got mine! www.papersource.com/gift-wrap/dandelion-chart-flat-wrap-10001479.html www.papersource.com/gift-wrap/arboretum-flat-wrap-10004531.html www.papersource.com/gift-wrap/cacti-and-succulent-flat-wrap-10001504.html
fun fact about oil painting: there are lots of great alternatives to turpentine that don't produce as many fumes! Oils can be more expensive and difficult to learn but it's well worth it for the lovely blending and colors you can achieve!
bob ross is a great example to use with oil paints, and one of the best things i took from him supply-wise was the lifesaver that is odorless paint thinner :)
Gamsol from Gamblin is a good oil paint thinner and comes in a really convenient bottle for pouring. But it helps to get a brush cleaning tank with a coil so you can clean your brushes without messing up the bristles.
That talk about femininity was SUPER interesting to me! I've never been feminine because that's just not my thing, so in the occasions where I do dress more feminine I always assumed that feeling of general discomfort and worry something's going wrong with my appearance was because I didn't know how to do it right, by lack of habit. So it's very refreshing to hear from the perspective of someone who's very feminine saying that no, it's just how it's designed to be! sorry for the long comment i do have a lot of feelings about this subject lmao! i hope you find that comfort when dressing more masculine, wearing "men's" clothes can be really freeing imo ❤ (not to mention the pockets!)
When it comes to dressing more feminine I always feel more comfortable with my friends then when I’m going out to dinner with my family. I honestly think it just depends
yo i love your painting! if you ever wanted to try oils that are easier to handle and a bit cheaper, i'd give water-soluble oils a shot! a brand i use often is cobra. you can use/dilute them with water and they only take a day or two to dry. they aren't as pigmented as actual oil paints but still more pigmented than most acrylics in my opinon. super fun to work with! i mainly use them for life painting or study. would be great to see you do a painting or art supplies themed asmr video- i'd love to see more of your art!! much love
Funnily enough I was just watching you last night to help me relax for bed, it was your outside party one! you can make better conversation with a camera than I can with an interacting human
The part about trying different things genuinely helped me to understand the "problem". I've been doing many things that I haven't before since lockdown started (mid March). Like writing, reading, traveling and exploring the area, exercising, cooking etc. But the thing is, I've been doing them on daily basis and they became a routine or a habit. So now reading for some reason doesn't excite me as it did when I started (I'm halfway through The Hobbit). I'll mix things up from now on. Thank you very much Moon:) May baby Jesus blesh you
@@Magirl-xq4hr talent takes work and time. Also I dont rlly like it too much when youtubers post like 5 videos a day like an absurd amount of videos. One a day is less bad, but it is a little tiring at points too.
I recently got new houseplants and they need names. A curly spider plant and a snake plant. So far the winners are 'Aragog and Nagini'. What should I name my plants guys? 🤔 Update: I have settled on the original suggestions of Aragog and Nagini! If you're sad just remember there are plants in the window of a British cottage named after Harry Potter critters
i havent felt chills over my arms, legs, *and* head from asmr in a looooong time so tuning into this while waiting for a lengthy file to download was a very pleasant surprise
i would love to see a video of you sharing your mindfulness techniques. I've noticed the way you talk about things is very particular and specific and i would just love to learn how to appreciate things as well as you do!
Erin, your talk about dressing masculine vs. feminine is definitely how I feel! I’ve started dressing masculine a lot more lately over the years, slowly adding more and more to my wardrobe because I am tired of the feminine stress haha. Also sorry your mother’s day tradition was cancelled this year! That sounds lovely, hope you get to next year.
@@irisaferg2524 They made a reference to witchcraft, and I wanted to offer the Christian Gospel since in my experience, actual witchcraft practices don't tend to be Christian. But I could be making an incorrect assumption!
You are my favorite female asmrtist, no matter who I watch for a period of time I always come back to you. You’re so incredibly cool and amazing and you just have a way of giving of a good comforting best friend vibe, you are just so unapologetically yourself and I love that about you. I’m sure most can agree with me on that. This video was amazing, I will definitely be coming back tomorrow night before I go to bed. We love you Erin
Ah, the ever-present tolls and toils of performing femininity. I think most of us ladies (feminists esp.) struggle with wanting to express ourselves aesthetically, without burdening ourselves at the same time. I wish you the best of luck with yours!
I don’t know why but this is one of my favorite videos. The flow of conversation is just so effortless and comforting, I love it 🥰 I find the topics interesting too, like trying to keep creative in quarantine and on dressing feminine.
I feel so bad knowing that a cutting like that will likely never become anything more than that one leaf🥺 Hoyas need a stem to grow from so a leaf cuttings will never grow. Lets hope your hoya has a little stem under the soil💕🌱
It’s playing the Hoya kerri lottery, I’ve bought two and neither of them grew. Her enthusiasm for her new son made me feel awkward and sad. I’d offer a cutting of any my Hoyas for Erin
Pabro Rodriguez I was going to comment about that as well 😭 I also have two leaves in soil and I don’t think either have stems, although I’ve heard that somehow some leaf cuttings grow a stem but it’s just a waiting game 😔
I've heard that they can sometimes grow a plant from just a leaf, or that sometimes they come with a little bit of petiole so they can grow a full plant. But samesies, watching that made me sad!
As someone who recently watched Free Solo, I totallllly get what you’re talking about. I’ve also been watching tons of speed climbing videos all of a sudden.
My mom and I have the same mother's day tradition! Depending on the local events at the time, we'll do a home and garden tour or visit a local botanical garden.
Be warned - some of the hoya hearts don't have nodes which grow more plant. They sell them like gangbusters for valentines day but they never grow. If you're feeling adventurous, gently take the plant out of the pot and see tease the dirt away to see if you have a node and roots. Hoping you do. It would still be a long time before it's a vine. From a plant lover.
Hey girl! Just so you know (not sure if anyone else has said this) but that Hoya heart won’t grow into a vine :/ so the ‘leaves’ (your singular heart) will survive on their own but they will not grow unless you actually have a piece of the vine. ❤️
Oil painting used to really intimidate me and now I’m in love with it! I use Gamsol instead of turpentine as a thinner and have no problems with fumes even indoors. Also, Lukas or Windsor and Newton are two good quality brands of paint that aren’t too expensive either! Your art is always so stunning, I’d love to see what you can do with oils✨
erin: would you like a quick, quick little trim? just a quick little trim? just to snip, snip, snip those dead ends off? me, with a newly shaved head: yes please thank you :)))
Ugh I usually listen to ASMR while I work, because it's relaxing yet not distracting, but I actually want to watch this one but I can't because I have to work.
Your whole style of asmr is the best of the best. Your voice is soothing and soft, not sounding like you cant breath, and your inhaling isnt violent gasping XD. I was just wondering if you would do another painting asmr video? I loved the last one of the purple clouds and moon. It's my favourite 😁😁
i totally get you, you can try a minimal or androgynous look. I go for "effortless hippie" on most days, and it's just very low key and natural and comfortable and doesn't require constant primping! :) I highly recommend toning things down if you want to be more comfortable and worry free about your style!! :)
I totally understand how you feel about the femininity thing, and I’ve given thought to it too. But I’ve realized that I feel a lot more happy and confident when I wear more feminine clothing and actually really enjoy the added elements and thought processes that go with it. Some days I of course dress more comfortable, but even then I feel better when it’s on the feminine side. Like I said tho, I totally get where you’re coming from!! You’re beautiful no matter what you wear my queen :))
