It's so lovely to see you being you again Erin. Not that I don't love your roll playing but you seem such a genuine and caring person, that I feel instantly relaxed as soon as you smile and speak. So kind to warn people about the Anime Expo too, as large crowds can be sooo intimidating. Not that I'm likely to visit as I live in the UK (and I'm 68 years old so not into anime) but it's great that you think of others.
@@asuka_the_void_witch. Absolutely! I guess it it just passed me by. As you get older you tend to stop seeking new things and get set in your ways. I guess it just doesn’t float my boat. 🤔😁
I’m so sorry you didn’t enjoy yourself at the expo. At least now you can say you’ve been there and had the experience! That’s what trying new things is all about!

Erin, I also struggle to commit with stickers. My solution has been sticking them to cuttable magnet paper, cutting them out and then using them on the refrigerator or other surfaces. Now they are reusable!
This is so genius, I'll keep it in mind myself! Another tip I've heard is that w some stickers if you hit them w a hairdryer for a bit to soften the adhesive it can make it easy to peel them, though I'm not sure how effective they stick afterwards
oh i absolutely understand the sentiment about anime expo being overcrowded since i've been there in previous years, and i can imagine its only more and more people every year, but i love the pieces you found while there! thank you so much for sharing them in this style, its so sweet
That expo story is pretty scary! A friend of mine in grad school did a bit of work on crowd dynamics (crowds are basically just supersonic compressible fluids) and from what I remember, there is a very fine line between the situation you described and a full on deadly crowd crush. Very happy you and everyone else was unharmed, but that really does sound like a near miss of a catastrophic tragedy, and like negligently poor planning by the organizers.
The venue was so overcrowded, they had to close down streets outside the con just to make more room for PEOPLE! Not even cars for parking, just room for people to.... exist! People were literally getting shoved into walls so I wouldn't say "unharmed" lol
I went to a poorly planned horror convention recently and spent the whole day there (because I had a photo op with a celeb in the late afternoon). They MASSIVELY oversold the event and it was like there wasn’t even room to walk, so I understand that fear and anxiety. I’m glad at least some of it was fun 🫂 I know I don’t regret going to my con but I wish it had been better managed 😅
I totally agree with you about big conventions these days - too many tickets sold and all of them a one way permit to panic alley 😅 glad you got some lovely art out of it tho!
ive gone to anime expo LA the past few years and totally agree, way too overcrowded to the point where its honestly dangerous lol. my friend and i went back to the hotel early every day HAHA
Like Erin said, I really recommend going to Anime Expo Chibi for those who are overwhelmed easily by crowds!! It’s the same concept, just at a much smaller scale. There was plenty of stuff to do, but zero overcrowding. As an autistic person, I thought that the experience was a LOT more manageable and less overstimulating than regular anime expo!
Whoa. I went to Anime Expo in 2015 and it wasn’t that level of crowded. I wonder if it’s just gotten more popular or if people are much more interested in going to events post-pandemic… Or if the organizers are trying to make up for lost income from the height of the pandemic years… I’m glad you had a better experience at the smaller expo. Thank you for the video as always, Erin! I swear your voice is magic! 🙇🏻♀️✨🙌🏻
I recommend Fanime way more than Anime Expo. Same type of convention but nice and cozy and never overcrowded like AX. Same state too, just in the Bay Area instead of LA.
Another video?! This is amazing! Also am looking forward to the yearly christmas videos. The fall/winter really is the best seasons for Erin videos (and I love the summer at the pool video so thats saying something!) ❤❤❤
Ooooo I love haul videos from anime conventions! As an anime enamel pin maker myself I love finding new peeps to follow on social media. Thanks for sharing 🫶
i feel as though this is not supportive and kind to erin. i understand ads can be annoying, but erin releases insane feature film length and quality videos with no sponsorships. the least we can do is watch a 2 minute ad to help her fund her life AND the phenomenal content we get.
My prof is inviting my class and the rest of the people majoring in illustration as a trip somewhat paid for and mostly planned by the school to NY Comic-Con. I was still turned off by it. He said “this is where you’ll be able to meet the heads of the studios and companies you’ll want to work for in the future so it’s a great opportunity”
i watch multiple asmr channels but tonight in the midst of my panic attack trying to think of what i could use to calm myself down i knew it needed to be a goodnight moon video. thank you for your help, i'll be watching a couple more tonight and surely continue to do so in the future
It’s so crazy to think I was at AX Chibi last weekend at the same time and could’ve ran into you without me thinking about it. I also bought a lot of things from the same artists and vendors lol
Inkwell does some creative and tasteful anthropomorphic stuff that reminds me of that under the sea book with fish and kingdoms. But the rest of the artists were new to me. ❤
For anyone wanting to experience a fan convention who also dislikes crowds, going on Friday or Sunday rather than Saturday (usually the most attended day) can really help! Both times I’ve attended on a Saturday I was shocked by how much more crowded it was than the other days I went to the same event.
The first and only time I had heard of Blueland was watching them present on an episode of Shark Tank like 4 years ago. Wild that they’re your sponsor now - good for them!
i went to anime expo 7 or so years ago and it was sooo fun and wasn’t crazy crowded, but i saw the pictures of what it looked like this year and it was insane ):
hi erin! I also went to both ax and ax chibi for the first time this year and I completely feel the same as you (and very validated too)! ax was way too much for me but I might go to ax chibi again (also super excited to see the stuff you got
I'm glad you love Bee and Puppycat. That's such an underrated show. I love that you checked out artist alley. Always my favorite place to go at cons. I get broke so fast!
One of my favorite things about these sorts of videos we're blessed with is the appearance of some these acquisitions in subsequent videos. It's like little Easter eggs.
past july was my first anime expo as well, i travelled from utah just for it! it would have been so cool to see you but with how crazy it was the chances weren't great haha. i'm sorry it wasn't great for you, you're definitely not wrong and i wish it was handled better as well. it's meant to be fun not an actual hazard you have to be worries about at all times
