Sleep problems are usually a symptom of another problem, often an emotional or mental health problem. Meditation can help us to manage sleep problems in the short term. However, if practiced regularly it may also help us to resolve the underlying issue because it enables us to change the way we interact with our thoughts and feelings. Lots of goodness here 😘

I have started to react in a more calm manner when talking with whom I live. Before we would not say 2 words to each other due to stubbornness on both of our parts. I believe through meditation, prayer and just stillness of thought, the energy that was put forth has made things so much better between the two of us. I believe the underlying secret is to continue to listen to the other person instead of having the thinking process of "I am right...and you are not". Thank you for this meditation.

"Our thoughts are not all that we are." Oh, very nice. Thanks, RU-vid. New sub. CBT and meditation have been life changing for me. It has taken years of practice but I've completely changed my self talk and made tremendous progress with my mental health. Found a few physical issues along the way too -- hypothyroidism, sleep apnea, and histamine intolerance -- and taking care of them has been huge. (It turns out sleeping and breathing at the same time is pretty important! Who knew?) I'm sleepy and rambling now but hello :) I love your voice and that color is gorgeous on you. good night 💜

This is my favourite sleep meditation you’ve done so far! As I have a lot of trouble breathing through my nose the guided breathing often makes me uncomfortable, as I’m unable to do it. This video really relaxed me and this is probably my third time watching it. :)

Now this was a really interesting video. I was quite fascinated by the discussion of the longer term benefits of meditation, how it's a skill, and how you can reach a deeper understanding of our own minds. I'm definitely interested in hearing more about this part. For the induction part, I have to change my position here from my previous comments, and say that I prefer looking at that lava lamp beside you rather than something in my own bedroom. I don't wear my eyeglasses when going to bed, and especially in the dark, I can't see anything anyway (lol). Better to just stare at the lava lamp beside you. That's just my personal preference though. You can't make everyone happy so you should just do whatever kind of induction you prefer in your videos. PS: I'm getting a lot better at understanding a whispered British accent!

I don’t get much sleep because of university. I am trying to be a scientist and i need 4 degrees for that. I alway study and that is why i can’t really watch your videos. And yes, my sister changed my account and she is now posting videos. And that makes me more annoyed. So thank you 😊

For me, due to blue light exposure in the evening I'd sleep for 2 hours then just wake up wide awake at 4am & get up & get right back to staring at the computer (mistakenly thinking I wasn't tired & I was superhuman but really I was slowly burning out my adrenals, eventual CFS diagnosis).. I sorted that out a few years ago with night/colour control software (Redshift) & blue light blocking glasses. I use 3 screens so I was getting a right old dose 😂 Even dim light can interfere with a person's circadian rhythm and melatonin production/secretion which is responsible for our sleep-wake cycle.

@@sel1736 It's only in the evening in the hour or so before you plan on going to bed that it matters.. I remember telling my mum of my discovery only to visit her & she was was looking all pleased with herself that she'd got herself blue light glasses & was wearing them in the afternoon when it was sunny 😂 No mum!
