Ah, so much to say here! The issue of Haunt of Fear you read in this video was originally published in 1952. There's a lot of history behind the EC horror comics, such as the one you read in this video. When these horror comics were originally published in the 1950's, they caused an enormous amount of scandal. They were hugely successful and spawned a bunch of imitators. EC horror comics are known for featuring twist endings where the bad people in the stories find the tables turned on them, and must pay for their crimes. The stories were often gory and violent though, which upset many adults of the time. A fellow named Dr. Frederick Wertham wrote an infamous book called "Seduction of the Innocent" which blamed comic books, particularly these ones, for corrupting young people. As a result, senate investigations were held, led by Senator Joseph McCarthy, and televised, to see if the comics should be banned. The publisher of Tales from the Crypt, Vault of Horror, Haunt of Fear, etc, William M. Gaines, (who was also the publisher of Mad Magazine), was called to testify to defend his comic company, EC Comics, against the allegations. Americans could tune in every day on their TV sets to watch the hearings. As a result, many parents refused to let their kids buy these comics anymore. All of this led to the Comics Code Authority which was an organization that would monitor the contents of comics for several decades afterwards to ensure no questionable content was printed, and Gaines's horror comics, such as this one in the video, were forced out of business. All he was left with was Mad Magazine and luckily for him, it was enough to keep his publishing business going. Over time, the comic books came to be considered classics of '50's horror and reprinted numerous times, such as in the edition you have there. The comics featured some of the best artists in comics history, and there is a style to the storytelling featured within which has been much imitated over the years. Eventually, the TV show called Tales from the Crypt, which you watched, was created in the late 1980's, and ran through the 1990's and featured some of the stories from the old comics, as well as new stories. '50's comics almost always featured more text and story than modern comics do, as well as more pages, as we see demonstrated in this video! The reprint edition you have is even larger because it's an expanded edition which features additional stories from Weird Fantasy comics. The three characters featured on the left of the cover, the Old Witch, the Vault-Keeper, and the Crypt-Keeper were the hosts for the stories in each issue of these horror comics, so they would traditionally introduce and/or narrate the tales. I noticed that you didn't finish the last story you were reading. Since you said that you omitted a few of the later stories altogether because they were either too sad or scary, I'm guessing the unfinished one must have fallen into one of those categories! Maybe it's better I didn't hear the end of it! Oh yes, I loved the page turning sounds too, and I love how you end a lot of the videos with additional page turning! :) I also loved your hairstyle in this video! I really like the Tales From The Crypt Haunt Of Fear comics. They have an old style vintage way of presenting the stories and art. I love your reading. It is so animated and exciting in the way you read. And of course, it is super relaxing listening to your whispered voice. I like how after you read a page you show what you read. My brother and I have a huge collection of original Ghost Stories comics from the 1960's and 1970's with such titles as The House Of Mystery, House Of Secrets, The Many Ghosts Of Dr. Graves, Ghostly Tales From The Haunted House, Ghost Manor, Haunted Love. They all contain great stories and artwork. I also like to add that I love the color and design of your nails.

You have THE best whispering voice. And I usually prefer no talking videos. It's really just so relaxing. Loving your October marathon!

If we're talking horror movies, horror music and horror comics, I choose the latter. I like the art in this comic book the most! The part about eternal youth and operations in the first story, reminds me of one episode in TMNT 2003 series, where Bishop changed his body every 10 years to stay Forever Young. Considering this comic book was published in 1950s, there's a possibility that episode was inspired by the comic.
