Small man, much chaos! Let's have a look at the changes Napoleon brought to the European continent and specifically at the developments he triggered in the former Holy Roman Empire.
I hope you like this exploration of history! I noticed I forgot to mention the disappearance of Poland on the last map which wasn't intentional - I got a little carried away with the other topics...
As always, this video is soft spoken and contains educational content on history to help you relax and sleep. The book is called "Die Napoleonischen Kriege", by Gunther Rothenberg.

Fun fact: Napoleon was actually average height (avrage height in the 1800 was 167 cm and napoleon was 1,68 so he was above average)

@@ThePieIsNotALie Add the height of the hats too, they probably looked close to 6'6" tall. I'm not sure about 6', it was more like 5'8" which was well above average for the time.

Oh man we had a very soft spoken history teacher who went through all of history in the same chill manner. They were great lessons for a bit of relaxation inbetween, but I never felt like I learned all that much haha. Thank you for your lovely feedback, as always :)

I’m a history teacher with a love for European history, and I love ASMR videos, so this could not be more up my alley if you tried 😂 I watched your Celtic culture video last night and was trying hard to stay awake because I love Celtic history, but I passed out. I appreciate your channel a lot! A lot of history/informational-based ASMR channels I have come across are male-run, and men’s voices tend to give me anxiety, so your channel fulfills a very specific niche!

Fascinating topic, very complex but you distilled it nicely. My daughter rides Arabians, I had no idea the French war horses of the time were Arabians. As I said, fascinating!

I love your videos! It’s really nice combination of great quality asmr and educational value. A little sad you didn’t explain what happened to Napoleon in Russia, how russians burned Moscow in order to not give it away to French and about big battle of Borodino. Good luck with your channel!

Hey, thank you so much for the kind words! Yeah, I didn't feel like that was very relaxing info haha. Obviously history is not all sunshine and rainbows, but for the sake of ASMR, I feel it's appropriate to make some editorial decisions. Though of course, that's mostly my sensitivities and everyone's line will be a little different.

A few years before, Corsica was genoese. In fact the Republic of Genoa gave the Island to French because they couldn't pay for the help of french to win against the corsican revolt. How could history change if Corsica remain under Genoa? Maybe a genoese Napoleon would unificate Italy under him?

What about Corsica ? It's also in France Corsica. Napoléon and his family are not Italian but Corsican

You told history in a way Merkel was chancelor of Germany, in a way i wipe clean plastic, see, feel, touch two-dimensional, i know surface, i do, be nice to in public, if time falls asleep that's not intended but welcome as well, nobody is hungry, all came, were and stayed well nourished out of their own - thank you for providing insight.

I hate him. He had an enormous amount of works of art and artifacts of all kinds stolen in Italy, some of which have not even been returned. For example, more than 2000 pages of Leonardo da Vinci's manuscripts were looted from the oldest library in my city, the Biblioteca Ambrosiana of Milan, and are still in Paris.
