As a Flyers fan this brings back so many memories. When we got Lindros we thought he was going to be the next Gretsky and deliver many Stanley Cups for the Flyers. It didn't happen and it was very disappointing. However you told the story very well even including details I didn't know. Great job of telling a very complete story.
I remember when this went down. My dad worked at a sports card/memorabilia shop at the time, and I was hanging out with him at work when we heard the report on the radio. The initial report we heard said that the deal included Mark Recchi and Rod Brind’Amour going to Quebec, which would have been insane. Luckily that wasn’t true. The Flyers were in a spot where they had to do something drastic to kind of kickstart the franchise again at that time, and getting Lindros did eventually lead to a prolonged period of success, even if it did eventually fall apart (still waiting to see a Cup in my lifetime). Thanks for another Philly story! Keep this up and we’ll make you an honorary Philly fan!
Awesome idea for an ASMR video! The ramifications of that Lindros trade were still present in 2020. There is a post about it on Reddit. Not sure we’ll ever see something like that again.
I just want to say as she continues to grow this channel (subbed, btw) that this is so smart and such a great idea. You're doing what you love and it's a great niche that hits the mostly dominate male market of viewership over the head in content. Love it. Wish you success and to the moon!
glad you did this video, Lindros was my favourite player growing up because I randomly chose the Rangers as my favourite team when I was like 6 playing NHL 03 (until Seattle finally joined the league)
Another great video. The “history lessons” like this are awesome trips back in time. If you don’t have any plans for March Madness, John Calipari and the scandals around his programs would be fun
You should do a video on the history of the St. Louis Blues, so many bad luck/self destructive decisions in the early 80’s, multiple fired coaches going onto dynasties w/other organizations, good but not great teams, then ultimate glory in 2019.
'94 was the Olympics in Lillihammer when they moved off being the same year as the summer games, so hockey in '92 and '02 does work, though it's weird looking back. I don't know that much hockey stuff so this was all new to me, though the NFL had a slightly similar thing when Eli Manning refused to play for the Chargers as the 1st pick, and forced a trade to the Giants, who gave them Philip Rivers all of 45 minutes later.
