I am a visual person and I really enjoy videos where you are either working out, showing your house, cleani g your yard etc... but your voice is enough just listening to it with my eyes closed I get lost in my sleep ❤
I almost only listen to your videos. I watch only when you are showing something (the whiteboard for example). I am very excited that you will be making videos again! Once I discovered your channel late last year, you skyrocketed to be my absolute favourite ASMR creator!
your voice over videos are my favorite because the whispers are so crisp and the visuals are entertaining. the slow walking around during a house tour is very relaxing
I actually do prefer the style of videos you do now. I know you've talked a lot about not wanting to do the same thing as everyone else and I've always loved your discussions that are focused more on you just sitting in front of the camera and sharing your thoughts. Maybe visual aides every once in awhile if you're feeling inspired but I don't think they're necessary! So happy you're coming back :)
So excited that you are making a return!! Your channel has always been a favorite of mine because of your whisper and authenticity! As for your request, my opinion is that I found this relaxing and unique, but for me it wouldn’t be necessary to have all the visuals. In terms of visual aspects, I appreciate darker lighting but don’t need much else. Just my opinion, whatever style you go with I’m sure it’ll be great! 😊

Hey derek! Honestly don’t feel pressure if it’s too much work for visual triggers! I think my favorite type of videos you do are the ramble discussions about religion or politics etc :) I am a visual watcher though! I listen/watch asmr when playing videos games, not really to sleep. edit: a comment mentioned the whiteboard! yes!! i absolutely LOVE the visual triggers from the whiteboard when you would talk to us about your career, your past, etc anything. I would keep watching whatever you put out, but I definitely do enjoy visual triggers too
Personally Ive always enjoyed your videos just to hear you talk about random topics or stocks and things that youre into or interested in. Its hard to find channels that arent just triggers.
I dont watch ASMR when I'm trying to fall asleep but I do watch it when I'm just trying to relax during the day. I recently took myself off of a lot of social medias to get myself away from all of that. Personally, I dont think it's that deep. I think, for me, it depends on the person. Some people can thrive and often prefer to be isolated and alone whereas others prefer or need the company of others. I think it depends on the individual. For me I sometimes like to be alone in solitude. I think it can be beneficial but being alone for a very long time can cause problems, mentally too.
Hello, good to see you again. I don't watch or listen to asmr when I want to sleep, but I do when I want to relax or when my mind goes everywhere and I need to concentrate on something. So I never watch the asmr videos. I just listen to asmr talking or rambling videos and that's the reason your channel is one of my favorites. Cause you just sit there and talk about useful topics ❤
I do the same as you. I pop my headphones in and I have my phone on the side while I close my eyes ready for sleep or relaxation. I’m not really about the visuals. I’m so glad you’re doing better though, and that you’re coming back ❤
I listen to your videos without watching the screen. I learn so much from you and I enjoys listening to you talking about anything and everything. I love the dogs snoring, and the furnace clicking on. It's real life and it's the most relaxing ❤
I watch about 3-7% of the time, financial videos I watch, like when you brought the whiteboard or the bitcoin video, things similar to that I will watch. But if you’re talking it’s just so much easier for me to sleep if I put my phone down and listen also helps me key in to what you’re talking about.
Glad you’re back. I don’t normally watch, I just listen to relax/sleep. I love the sound of the white board. I also love ASMR videos where people are doing tasks with light sounds (cooking/stirring, typing, etc). But you are the one artist just your voice is enough (although your white boards are my favorite)
I found your channel a few days ago, and you have inspired me on many ways. You seem like a remarkable human being, and I apareciste all the life & financial advise you provide for free! Also, being single and childless after a certain age has such a bad rap, and I feel like everyone is afraid of being alone to a degree. Seeing that you are doing so well for yourself and you feel fullfilled on your own is awesome, if we all had more cases like yours close to us, a lot of people would realize that is much better being alone and at peace than staying on relationships just for the sake of having company.
I have always said it is much easier to deal with the pain of loneliness versus the pain of being miserable with someone. Loving yourself is the key to being happy alone and many people struggle with self love. I really appreciate the time you took to write this. Comments like these are what keep me making video! I wouldn't say I got triggered by visual stimuli as such. But I do enjoy watching something while listening... especially the whiteboard videos you do. But once I've seen that I'll happily just listen to the voice for the next few (hundred) times 😂. I start in bed watching then out phone next to ear. I am like you so I usually click off of visual stuff. I get annoyed or I zone out and then start thinking about work, which is the reason I listen to ASMR. ODDLY, I just love listening to other people’s lives and boring goings on. I love being alone. This is the first time I have seen your channel btw.
Glad you found me and glad you know the joys of solitude. I have one friend that goes to the grocery store late at night just to be around people. He can't stand to be alone. I don't get it. There is something about being at peace with yourself...I don't think he is...thus he can't stomach being alone.
Hello I enjoy watching but also indulge in just listening at times , I think a combination of both would be great and also can be considered low fi and high fi which both are relaxing in their own way , keep up the great work!!!! :)
For me ASMR is 95% audio and 5% visual. The visuals can occasionally add to the experience but in general it is not that important. Obviously the exception is videos which have relevance outside of ASMR like the bitcoin/investment videos. PS: So glad you are back!
personally I loved the visuals! I would totally understand if you didn’t continue to do them though just cause I’m sure it’s a lot of extra work. Normally if a video has interest visuals (if it’s a role play, had hand movements, props, etc) I’ll watch the video. If it’s just talking without any of that I’ll normally have it playing in the background while I play some random game before I go to sleep!
Me personally I like to see you but I normally just put my phone down. But my advice would be if you want to grow your channel do the visuals. Because you will please the people who want the visuals. You could get really into the editing of it and make it your niche. Either way I’ll be watching!
I'm more of an auditory digestor. I also actually the framing of your normal videos, it feels like we're being talked to as an audience rather than just watching a slideshow.

Hi, so I just found your channel yesterday. Was hesitant to leave a comment but you've grown on me haha. So as your question, for me, I tend to not care as much for the visual/animation. I'm here to listen to your advices-stories-life lessons and not gonna lie maybe sometimes I fell asleep mid vid but my point is, for me visual is kinda low on the list.. yeah. Hey Derek, I like to watch something while listening to ASMR, but for some reason a person sitting in front of a camera is my favourite. It just feels more real and cosy. If it’s up to me, don’t bother with any visuals. What you’re doing now is perfect for me.
i honestly thought i was the only one who would not watch the screen when listening to ASMR. When i gts i always must have my phone facing down to the side
I thoroughly enjoy your normal non-visual content, however there is something to be said for visual triggers in the way of like hand movements / tracing / etc. I personally believe that those types of "visual triggers" are more effective for providing tingles and overall more popular than the visual stimuli that you are demonstrating in this video. Thanks for the video. My feedback: I watch and listen. However, I like the fact that it is just you talking to the carmera. It suits your content and makes it somehow feel more real. Personally, I get a little annoyed even by all the hand movements and tapping in other content creators content :)

I hope you will get started again. I think you need to just make longer videos and your channel will grow much quicker. But, I certainly understand needing to focus on your first priorities. I just know you could have a successful channel and it would be a great side income for you!
