I mean sure many Muslims are gay but they hide it. It doesn’t make sense to convert though. Straight people already have a hard time finding an actual decent muslim community that isn’t overrun with hypocritical haram police. Despite what many Muslims will claim about being “fastest growing religion”, more people are leaving the religion than converting to it or staying because of bad experiences and unsupportive communities etc.

Hi my dear brother. Look, if you convert, I will assume it is because you genuinely believe this religion to be true. So if that is the case, then ofcourse you can be Muslim. Ofcourse you can be gay and muslim. But, with that being said, it would be a difficult test because Islam does not permit one to act upon it. You'd constantly be struggling and it is a difficult one. But if Islam is something you hold to be true, then no matter how difficult the test is, you'll strive for the truth. No one in this world has it easy, everyone has their tests. However, if you did end up engaging in it, it does not take out of the fold of Islam - all it means is that you would have sinned. And who doesn't sin? No one has the right to comment on your relationship with God, NO ONE. But as potato rightly said, the muslim community does love to call out LGBTQ while ignoring other sins that are prevalent in our communities like sex before marriage, adultery, lying, gossiping, drinking etc. But it would be unfair to say there aren't tolerant communities (as Islam is literally about tolerance). I think I am an example of that, or I'd like to believe I am. If you converted and were gay, I would never shun you or judge you... I'd try to advise you if you were someone I loved (and a prerequisite would be that you're a muslim and believe in the religion 100%) but otherwise, I wouldn't intervene. I mean, if I want to be friends with someone, Im not going to determine it based on their sexuality lol, I can't care less what your sexuality is, as long as you're respectful, then that's sufficient for me personally.
