The Cessna Citation Longitude comes with the "Premium Deluxe" version of MSFS and has been substantially improved via the official "Aircraft & Avionics Update 1", especially the G5000 avionics suite is top notch by now. Today we will cover that amazingly simulated biz jet in a full flight tutorial, including a cold'n'dark startup, simBrief flightplan import, weight & balance setup, takeoff and landing data input, VNAV setup, most aircraft systems, autopilot & autothrottle operation etc. Beautiful approach over San Francisco included. Many thanks for watching!

If we get large climb rates at takeoff that we don’t want, we sometimes may use vs mode. This works well with auto throttle, as it will adjust throttle for speed instead of pitch. You can set shallower climb rates.
@SimulationChannelDeluxe
@SimulationChannelDeluxe 2 месяца назад
Yeah I was thinking about using VS, but I wanted to see how the plane behaves in "all-auto" mode, also because it's easiest for new users. The climb rates during previous flights were less excessive, so I was a bit surprised ;) Cheers

I love your clear dignified tutorial. Question 2: You have mentioned Reverse-Idle after landing. Could you be kind and describe how we deploy reverse braking both in the real Longitude throttles and also in our own Throttle Quadrant in the MSFS2020 (mine is a Honeycomb Betta Quadrant).
@SimulationChannelDeluxe
@SimulationChannelDeluxe 18 дней назад
I'm using a Thrustmaster T16000M and I have a button mapped to toggle the thrust reversers. It's fittingly called "Toggle Reverse Thrust" or similar. That way you can manually set the thrust as desired. There's also a button command to engage and hold reversers at 100%.
@SimulationChannelDeluxe
@SimulationChannelDeluxe 18 дней назад
The command for 100% reversers is actually just called "Decrease Throttle".
@user-dx5fu2no5v
@user-dx5fu2no5v 18 дней назад
Dear Sebastian. I am Gadi. Let us assume that we recognise the 7 controls options found in the msfs2020. I would like to assign them not to just any button. I would like to deploy my thrust levers with my hands just like a real pilot does for reverse brake after landing. I will quote several lines from PILOT REPORT: CESSNA CITATION LONGITUDE: " I lifted the thrust reverser levers to the reverse position and slid both throttles to full reverse. .... The FADEC automatically began to reduce the amount of reverse thrust at 85 knots, ending at 45 knots. This allowed me to keep the levers at full reverse, not having to worry about any engine or aerodinamic limitations while maximizing the stopping force. " He describes an automatic reverse process which Idon't expect in the simulator. Yet, I would like to immitate the lever handle movements that initiate and end a real aircraft reverse braking process.
@SimulationChannelDeluxe
@SimulationChannelDeluxe 18 дней назад
@@user-dx5fu2no5v Well I guess your throttle quadrant also uses some kind of "click spots" along the throttle range to initiate reverse thrust. Just assign the toggle reverse thrust command to that spot and it should work quite nicely.

Hey, thanks for the video, very nice ! But can you explain me how I can see my Optimum altitude ? Thanks
@SimulationChannelDeluxe
@SimulationChannelDeluxe 2 месяца назад
Sorry for the late response. For the cruise altitude I did use the one suggested and calculated by simBrief. As usual with biz-jets, as soon as the route is long enough (around 150 nm I think), it will let you cruise above FL400 ;) Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the video upload. The Cessna is my plane of choice, but I haven't touched MSFS for a year... Time to go back. Is there any new software for the Cessna?
@SimulationChannelDeluxe
@SimulationChannelDeluxe 3 месяца назад
The Longitude is definitely an amazing plane in MSFS (and irl). I'm sure it received some updates over the last year, maybe even the AAU1? Don't know now when that released. Indeed, time to jump back into the sim and check it out :) Thanks for watching!

No need to tap brakes before gear up on jets. The brake system does it for you.

I love your clear dignified tutorial. Question 1: I watched you climbing in FLC mode at vertical speeds of 5000-7000fpm, whereas the maximal allowed vertica speed of the real Longitude is less than 5000fpm. Is it a bug of the simulator, or do I miss something ? It looks to me that realistic VSs can only be maintained in deploying a VS mode.
@SimulationChannelDeluxe
@SimulationChannelDeluxe 18 дней назад
Yes the initial climb was excessive. Didn't happen to me before during the first few test flights. Better use VS mode in these cases.
@user-dx5fu2no5v
@user-dx5fu2no5v 18 дней назад
@@SimulationChannelDeluxe Thank you for admitting that such a climb is excessive, but if you watch carefully you will find such a rocketlike climb in almost any climb when deploying simple FLC or any VNAV sequence of climbs. If we actually have to use restraining VS most of the time, it means we do not have an automatic climb VNAV in this simulated Longitude.
@SimulationChannelDeluxe
@SimulationChannelDeluxe 18 дней назад
@@user-dx5fu2no5v Yeah that's why I didn't want to use VS. Biz jets are usually way too powerful and light, so those crazy climbs are pretty much normal I suppose ;)
@user-dx5fu2no5v
@user-dx5fu2no5v 18 дней назад
Even if we disagree at this point (Textron specifications for maximal VS vary between 4300 and 4900 fpm) I am grateful & loved every minute in your tutorial. I may ask you more questions in the future for some parameters and tools for the MFD which I could not find in my Longitude. @@SimulationChannelDeluxe
@CactusBravo42
@CactusBravo42 Месяц назад
So it’s not possible to load passengers and fuel from the aircraft? Also, what’s the point using both FLC and VNAV together during the climb? Wouldn’t VNAV alone be sufficient?
@SimulationChannelDeluxe
@SimulationChannelDeluxe Месяц назад
Loading has to be performed via the default weight & balance tool unfortunately. And indeed climb is performed using FLC, but VNAV is already armed (in white on the PFD) for cruise and descent later on. Regards

I played FS 2020 when it came out. I love that plane but had so many issues with that. First, the distance I couldn't reach my destination from Frankfurt to Orlando because I always ran out of fuel. Second, I could get the required flight height. Are all the bugs fixed for that plane?
@SimulationChannelDeluxe
@SimulationChannelDeluxe Месяц назад
I didn't try such a long flight yet, but there are certainly no issues reaching cruise FLs above FL400. Maybe try out the most recent version of the plane again.
