I long to hear John’s voice all the time, but especially during Christmas. His voice is so pure and warm and inviting. Very Beautiful. Draws you in and makes you look at things in a meaningful way. What a Special Man John was and still is.

My mom would play this in our house, it would always help our Siberian Husky fall asleep, he understands pretty music. This is such a beautiful song, one of my personal favorite Christmas songs.

Christmas as a young boy... The last few days before Christmas Day... Dad would have a fire going in the den. He have this album (yes, vinyl) going on the old stereo. Mom would be in the kitchen preparing something wonderful. Yeah, I've got some great memories with this song. :)
This song reminds me of Christmas being within a month or two, working at my first job in a little farmers' market. It might not sound very special, but the people there were very nice to me, and I loved working there. John Denver was a wonderful musician.
I often think back and miss John. He did so much with his talent, I only hope my kids would be as proud of me. John loved to travel I always told him you cant get better than here at home.
When this season begins, my heart calls for His music, his voice and his songs. Thanks mom for giving me the opportunity of growing up with such great and inspiring voices!

When I had ridden my little 550cc Honda out to Colorado(what a trip) I had gotten to Aspen at night, but the next morning i was hellbent on finding out where John Denver lived. I remembered him speaking of Starwood in Aspen. urns out that was a private community that had a big sign before you entered that said that if you didn't reside there you would be fined $500 and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Anyway I found his house which sat far of the road and I could only see it from a distance. Going back down the hill I was determined to find his house from the back. So a friend I was with, started crawling up the mountain in back of his house. I had one of those old fashioned Polaroid instant cameras and when we got to the back of his house we pulled these bushes aside and was getting ready to take a picture when out walked his wife Annie. She didn't come out because of us, but that's what we thought and all we could think about was that $500 fine and we cloukldn't get back down quick enough!!

beautiful song. reminds me of my childhood. had his christmas album on vinyl and i use to play this track over and over. such a wonderful talent and a gentle soul. i think that of all the artists we've lost, i miss john and karen carpenter the most.
You know, if you don't listen to a song too often, hearing it feels kind of like time travel; like being where you were when you first heard it, or when it meant the most to you. What a pleasant, beautiful song this is, and though I haven't known it long, it gives me strong, vivid memories.

What a great song! I was driving in my truck at Christmastime a couple of years ago. I hadn`t heard it in years. It came on the radio, and I was just awestruck. Wow! Like you all some great memories with Mom and Dad at Christmas and this playing on the stereo on the ol` 12" LP!!! Incredible!!

Every year I bring out my vinyl copy of "Rocky Mountain Christmas" if for no other reason then to play this song and "Christmas for Cowboys". This year I have a way to transfer it to digital and so to a CD. This song, in waltz time, just flows along as John tells his story. I sing many of his songs and miss him and his talent.
