Bought it a few months ago on sale in a small local shop, most games run really really well in 1080P in combination with a Ryzen 7 2700x and 16gigs of RAM, would recommend! Addition to the comment (late november 2020): bought a new 1440p monitor recently, the card runs Read Dead Redemption 2 like a champ in the 75-90fps range with almost all the details maxed out in 2k resolution. If you want an overpowered 1080p and really decent 2k graphics card, by all means go for it.
the big part of exposed heat sink with the 3rd fan can allow for much more efficient heat disposition/airflow, it's like running a fan on a case with no-filter v with-filter. in theory it lets you run much lower RPM at the same temps. some of sapphires best cards had the same open 3rd fan. Id take silent for a 2% speed loss every day but ouch on price.
"Fast, mysterious, unbeatable..." :O You are definitely right Dominic, that's some weird marketing for a GPU lol Not a bad 5600XT GPU regarding the results but the price is really bad :/ Have a great weekend
I disagree... why would you extend the backplate when there is no additional pcb there and to extend it simply for esthetics would be ridiculous. When I look at the card, it should have been a two-fan design. However, when you are trying to sell a video card in a saturated market among many competitors you have to make your card stand-out.
So I recently got this card from a seller on Facebook and it works amazingly but it never goes above 59c it always stays at a steady 59c when I’m playing warzone or battlefield 5 is this normal? And the utilization is 90%?
I own one of these cards and it runs fine. There are no driver issues that I am aware of. The earlier releases of the 5600XT Phantom D3 came with a 12Gbps clock but now with the new bios release the cards run at 14Gbps and the price has come down if you figure in the rebate that AsRock is offering. I was able to get the $20 rebate + $5 off and so the final bill was around $255 USD.
1/3 of the card size is just aluminium heat-sink, floating in air. cracks me up when they do that. They should've extended the PCB/backplate, otherwise most users will be blasting hot air right on their CPU
all open air GPU's are dumping the air in to the case, so works out the same but will help cool the card much better with low RPM. unless you set up a DIY fan below your GPU to help push air out the back of the lower case the top rear fan exhaust will pull all the air up past the CPU and out the back so works out the same. also don't forget it's not going to dump all 150W of power up on that 3rd fan so maybe only 1/3 of the heat will be dumped up and 2/3 will move the normal way out of the case. :P it is fun if you have time, grab a spare fan and set it up with cable ties below your GPU to push air out the rear of the case. I did it once trying a few different spots with a 120mm case fan, amazing how it can drop GPU temps relay makes you wonder why you never relay see low fan exhausts on cases.
