The ASRock X570 TaiChi is one very nice motherboard with many nice features and killer looks as well. What do you think about it? Thanks for your input! Elric
I have this board and have been using it for a little over a year. I really only bought it because of limited options during covid 2020 and it was on the higher-end of $$. The chipset fan began making noise after about three months of casual use. I contacted their support and was told that replacement parts were not available. I finally received a replacement after about six months of having the fan going out issues. I recently started having freezing issues that hinted at some sort of hardware failure. This started about three weeks ago and they have slowly become more frequent. It finally gave itself up today. No SSD was available during bootup. I thought I had an SSD failure at first, but thankfully it works in the other m.2 slot for now. I don't know if the fan failure assisted in this failure to not, but I'm pretty disappointed in this MOBO.
I just realized your videos around the time of the rampage IV motherboards, many years ago, were a big part of what really kickstarted my pc building/gaming enthusiasm. Kind of crazy that all these years later I'm still here watching those same videos. Just wanted to let you know you've been a big part in my main hobby for many years, thanks for doing that Elric, you're still awesome!
I helped a friend build his new PC with this exact motherboard and the only complaint I have is that it does not carry extra screws in the packaging. What you receive is what you get. He had two m.2 SSDs and only one screw for one of them. Luckily I had a spare so I gave that to him. Otherwise, the performance and design of the board are good, the F.Port is a lifesaver for those who do not know how to connect the power, reset, HDD LEDS, etc. AsRock did an overall great job. Just a side note, it being ziptied to foam is alright just maybe purpose for resale having the antistatic bag would be nice to if it came down to it.
Looks like a good board. The placement of the chipset fan and USB is right under the PCI-E slot, so with long GPUs you're blocking airflow and the port.
@@basshead. Don't think so , mainstream chipsets are only gonna be released in 2020 . So end of line maybe 2021 . But i never plan on upgrading anyway . Just buy the best you can , keep it till it performs good . even if AM4 had the end of line in 2019 , I'd still buy it .
That's one great looking motherboard! 🤩 Yea, I'm a sucker for mechanical steampunk aesthetics. I'm using the x399 Taichi in my two 1950x builds, hehe. Zero issues so far. Great review.
Nice review. I am also interested in the Thunderbolt option as I compose music. I'm looking to build a new audio computer and this motherboard seems to be perfect thus far. I'm either going to go with a 3900x or 3950x if I can wait until they are readily available. I'm also excited to see how the M.2 PCI-4 performs on large sample libraries.
I am having trouble with this MB, i get LEDs to turn on but when i press the power button, nothing turns on, i tried even a new Power supply, and all is the same, Tried stock Cooler, and the Corsair H100i pro, and nothing, just LEDS, no codes, no beeps, i would appreciate the help.
this mobo has some issues...usb-c placement on the board is unusable if u plan to use a front panel usb-c, due to gpu blocking it. rgb software is also buggy..sadly
Hi Elric. Namaste from India 😊. I'm building my first pc and I have a few questions with only experts like you can answer... 1. Does the manufacturer of the graphics card matter. Should I spend money on the 2070S from a manufacturer like Galax or Zotag(both OC capable) or should I spend the money on an Asus/MSI 2060S/2060? 2. Is there a way/website where I can benchmark my parts/config before actually purchasing it and possibly also get additional tips to improve my build, just to get the best bang for the buck. Hoping for a reply! Thanks allot 😊
best VRMs at the $300 price range. However, the Type-C connection is in an awful spot. It's completely covered if you have a long GPU. It's unfortunate.
