If you play Rogue you realize how badly Achilles f*cked up... but then it makes sense it's so meaningful how he tried to amend and make up for his mistakes by helping Connor. Connor loved him like family and knew he owed much to him... So yes, for me I hope Achilles deep inside rested knowing he did the right thing in the end... and that he deserved to peacefully rest alongside his own family he missed always so, so much.

Connor's story is as Desmond described: so painful, in so many ways. Connor is my favorite Assassin, and nothing will ever change that.

I love how they made it so you don’t see all of Connor’s personality until you play through the homestead missions and talk with the residents he isn’t just an angry man who lashes out and only seeks revenge you see he cares about those he is close to.

The sad part about AC3 is that a lot of Connor's best character moments are in the side quests. The main story comes off as black and white with Haythem, specifically in the prologue, being the best character. However seeing Connor build up the community of the homestead and his adventures and interactions with its citizens really helped Connor's depth as a character.

I like that Conor dropped an eagle feather in his grave. Not only is it significant to Conor's culture, but it is the symbolic to the brotherhood.

Even though Achilles was a reckless Grandmaster of the Colonial Assassins in the past, which disillusioned Shay to become a Templar. At least he realized the mistakes hes made that almost destroyed the Brotherhood. He taught Connor, his last student not to become the Assassin that he was before, thus making the colonial Assassins stronger again. Rest in Peace old man.

Connor is such a wholesome character

Connor is one strong person. Lost his mother, his tribe betrayed him, he had to kill his dad, achillies who was his mentor died, and there are no other assassin than him at the time. A lone wolf, a true assassin. Next to Ezio, Connor is my favorite, then Altair. My top 3.

They fixed the glitch where dyed robes don’t show up in cutscenes.

The only thing I really dislike about the remaster (albeit small) is the fact that the animation of entering and leaving the house was replaced with a black screen to wait.

I hate how the screan blacks out everytime he enters and exits interiors, in the original it was seamless, no blackout, you saw him open the door walk out and close it

It would be funny if Connor was wearing Shay's outfit.

And this is why Connor is my favorite character, and why AC3 is my favorite game, so much depth hidden behind those facial expressions, some things aren’t blatantly stated but the eyes say everything that needn’t be said out loud.

Connor is underrated wish they would bring him back

Achilles was the father figure Connor never had.

The best assasin in my book, the plot, the person he is and the choices he makes. He fights for what he believes to be right and saves people as many as he can. And yeah no hoes (not yet at least)

I always loved the simple comparison between Haytham and Achilles with regard to Connor. One was a biological father, the other was a genuine one.

I've cried so much there. Conor was considering him as his father.

Man, “I miss you, as I miss my mother”. That was fucking sad. Connor really deserved another game, he should have been at least the second playable character in Unity as he would have only been in his early to mid 30’s. What the fuck man.

Altair and ezio are amazing but Conor is my favourite, one game is not enough for him, there should be a sequel with the system of unity that would be an amazing game

After this being in Homestead always feels empty because missing something Achilles held that hole now with him gone holes there.

This video popped into my feed today shortly after returning home after my grandfather had died infront of me, this was the only Assassin's Creed game I ever played when I was growing up under his wing. I got to say goodbye and I got to look into his eyes as I told him that I loved him. He closed his eyes and passed away. I called him "Old Man" every day after playing this game to 100%. Tonight, I can't sleep because of everything. But this video made me smile because I did get the privilege of saying goodbye. I want the world to know that my grandfather was a good god fearing man who looked after a boy who's parents were not always around and I know where he is now. Be there for your family, yo.

These scenes are humbling, in the sense that, like. Inevitably, we know we will lose our parents. Then, someday, we too will have children, and inevitably, our bodies will also be returned to the earth. It’s kind of comforting, in the sense that we can’t truly begin the journeys of the soul, until we leave everything we know behind with the body. One journey can’t begin until another ends. Mad respect for this game for including such a spiritual sentiment. Connor is such an amazingly spiritual person. All humans could stand to follow his example. This life is temporary. It’s only the first of infinite steps.

AC3 is AC games when you finished it, there's no victory, no triumphant music or feeling of closure, only reflection and introspection, it's not the best, but definitely my favorite

Just by looking at Connors face I can tell he’s crying inside because Achilles was like a father figure to him

I like the detail what we found out that Achiles name Ratonnaketon, Connor as his son name and instead of making it obvious we found it sutely by seeing his sons grave

Why do the facial models look worse in the remaster? Sure the environments and backgrounds look better, but the faces are noticeably bad.

I remember when we first saw this in game. Literally my whole family loved this game, and Achilles. This struck a blow to us all

After losing his mother, his village, his best friend, father, avenging his Mother’s Death, in the end, Connor still ends up alone. And that’s the saddest thing about this game, and just to any character in this franchise.

I lost my grandad last month and I think of this moment and those words I will make you proud old man and how much I can understand Connor in that moment

This, I feel, highlights the awareness the brotherhood has of how finite their lives are and just how incomprehensible their struggle is in the grand scheme of existence. But it is the one who carries on that will see what tomorrow holds and feels the weight the past burdens them with.

Ever notice that you can't wear a different colored outfit in the cut scenes in the original game. In game you are wearing the Boston one but in the cut scene it will just change to the original outfit.

Loved this scene, only problem is with Connor reaction, wished we saw him having a bigger reaction to the death of what was basically his father, either when he found him or a slow reaction when talking to father Timothy

I own the ps3 version of this game just finished it and did this mission quite early and damn i felt so sad when i just saw Achilles sitting on his chair and died so peacefully

What makes this even sadder is when you find out how Achilles dies in the alternate dimension created by the Apple of Eden. He died on his feet, fighting for what was right, defending those who could not defend themselves and yet was literally stabbed in the back for it.

Achillies was Connors real father.

This hits hard after I played rogue Achilles truly changed after shay kill his comrade

the father's prayer and connor's goodbye seemed a little different than the original. It seemed like few extra lines were added. I could be wrong though.

It's interesting to think that if Shay wasn't begging for Achilles's life under Haytham's blade he would be long dead...

The way these earlier games tied together is really what made them. Their stories, not the gameplay or graphics. Achilles always walked with a cane not just because he was old, but because Master Templar Haytham Kenway, son of Master Assassin Edward Kenway, shot him in the leg at the end of Rogue. The games really went downhill Origins and onwards.
