I always thought AC 1 looked good but looking at it in 2019 its crazy how much ahead of time the graphics really were. Strangely even the remastered version of Ezio trilogy doesn't come close.
I think part of the majesty is watching them run on consoles that aren't very powerful to begin with. GTAV on 360 is amazing. And even at 24 fps I played the whole game
This is absolutely fantastic. The amount of work that you did here is really great. I actually prefer the way Altair looks in the first game compared to revelations.
Boss_ Monster313 I like the environment and overall feel of Revelations more but I still really like the way Altair looks in AC1. The shading on his outfit and the robes just look better 2 me. revelations looks better overall tho.
The first game had a different art direction to it concerning the time period. Acre was my favorite place to hang around while also being the most difficult place. AC2 prioritized story over graphics which is why AC2 looks worse in comparison. The lighting just doesn't feel like it's up to AC1's standard. If you compare AC2's E3 demo with the actual game, you will notice that the demo actually has better clothes physics and better lighting, but still not as good as AC1's but better than the final product.
you do realize the left one is revelations, right? Revelations has better vegetation, better lighting, textures, geometry. I think you're either blind or you just mixed up the two
man how is it that ac1 has better graphics. I always knew something felt off when playing as Altair in revelations, the robe is so bad, the shadows don't even move accordingly. ac1 looks so natural and revelations has such a high saturation
Ubisoft: Put snowy weather in Masyaf Dev: Sr, consoles can't handle it. Ubisoft: Quit lots of trees, put the rest without leaves in different places, and make Altair look more cartoonish xD
Use the simple mind logic. AC 1 is in, 1200's I think? AC R is in 1500's, and Masyaf was attacked by Mongols. Sorta my excuse why Masyaf is a bit changed (if you are exploring it as Ezio, not as Altair through memories)
When I saw that Altaïr was going to be back for Revelations I was so happy that they were revisiting him. He’s the only one that actually fits in historically with the actual Hashashin. I assumed that because he was on the cover of the game he’d have a much bigger role instead of the 5 special missions he gets through Ezio. This was years before GTA 5 came out, but I thought that the game would have some sort of system where you could switch between Altaïr and Ezio at way stations or something and actually free roam Masyaf again, like Ezio would in his sections in Constantinople. It feels like a big missed opportunity and his presence was missed. Most of the time I was playing it I was just anxious waiting for Altair to show up again instead of fully being invested in Ezio’s journey.
Except it doesn't. At all. Character models in AC1 looked better than the ones in AC2, and that's about it. Everything else looks objectively better than AC1.
Just had to ramble a bit. The beginning music kinda triggered me lmao AC1's soundtrack was breathtaking. I miss it. Its nostalgic value gives it an edge over some of the other games' tracks. I've played and overplayed the Ezio Trilogy to the point where it's not as good anymore. It is really a shame. I'll have to wait years before it's good to play again. For now, I'll just be playing AC3 and 4. They're good games, but they aren't as close to my heart as the first 4 major games with Ezio and Altair. I'm so bad at controlling how much I play that burnout is inevitable. AC3 and 4 are fun, but don't have the emotional effect that AC1-Revelations had. I don't get so closely attached to the characters. Okay, maybe I do...now that I think about it...
Man the detail is insane, heck you can even see in some of these shots its just ezio in altairs robes yet he still has the missing finger with altairs robes on even though ezio had all 10 fingers
If they only could remaster the first game that would be the best thing that would happen in the gaming world i wish Ubisoft would consider doing this as an hommage to their fans and to the first game that launched their franchise
@@Kaine852 Well it is wider than what is in the game But without the great tall main tower that the game has(it might be destroyed or maybe they created it out of nothing) The castle area and around is usually much greener like I mean Europe green It is surrounded by the mountains But not like the game shows I mean the place were Altair makes the leap of faith I don't think it exists
@@Kaine852 I also get to understand it's not the only castle that served the assassins (more known today as ismailis and some alwaites) There is Kadmos town and castle Al Khawabi castle And there is a hidden castle That look like a normal Rocky mountain top called Al Kahf castle You may want to Google them or are if there is anything about them on RU-vid I visited two of them Both are great
@@Kaine852 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VH8O9zRWPxo.html I know it's not a good vedio But one of the best I found😂😂😂 I figured you may want to see it (Although I garenty it looks a looooooooot better in real life)
@@alisalloum9893 It probably doesn't, as historically Al Mulaim only asked his disciples to show their loyalty by killing themselves, whether it be throwing themselves off a cliff or suicide as morale against enemies. Other than that, looks like time has changed the place. You should go back and play AC1/R there for that maximum immersion.
The blood is much more apparent when your armor is broken. For some reason, the blood is exaggerated when that happens. AC1 had the blood spray which was why it was very unique and it looked awesome. If you want some dramatic blood effects, play ACRevelations and use cheats to give yourself infinite ammunition. Make Sticky Blood Bombs and toss it at enemies, and when you fight them try to time a kill on them correctly and it makes a huge bloody mess. It's also fun just to use it for a regular HB assassination. So much BLOOD!!! Basically, the only fun endgame thing to do in Revelations, in my opinion.
Altair is my farviot Character ! but also a mod too called Altair Edition mod i have record it and played it as well but with Young Altair mod in all Storylines of Ezio Auditore Face change to Altair Ibn La Ahad Face to Young or Old.
Boss_ Monster313 I think the lighting is fine in Ac1. But the lighting in Acre makes me feel depressed for about 20 minutes then I feel fine. The opposite for Jerusalem for the same amount of time. Damascus is alright in the middle and it really doesn't effect my mood.
say what you will about revelations but the music and tone was better than ac2 and acb and that opening level and final scene is top tier assassins creed. i wish you could return to masyaf as a monterigoni style hub
Didnt like how in revelations Altair had a grey stubble beard and his shitty Italian voice, I know the American version was inaccurate but it suited his Vickey personality more tbh
Nick Alex Cage I’ve played every game, including Liberation, Fredoom Cry and Rogue. I’ve loved every game because , I played every one for the first time last year, without being biased by the fanboys, and I enjoyed a hundred percent every one of them.
I think it represented how the place was (unwillingly) abandoned by the Assassins and, even though there were new residents, the ambience wasn't the same since then. But I also think it's because it was winter lol
7:20 not everything is the same. Masyaf is different. It got more pillars and looks like it´s smaller and turned 90 degrees Also Altair didn´t have glove on his right hand at the bggining of AC1 and second hidden blade as well
Missed detail. In AC1, all the other Assassins had their ring finger intact. In ACII and beyond, most characters including the protagonist didn't have sheaths. This was so it would be easier to store any sword the players bought without making new sheath designs (curved swords, long swords, etc). In ACR, no sheaths existed because they only had a year of production (being that Revelations started out as a 3DS game and later redone for consoles and PC).
Lol at anyone saying that AC1 looks better, AC:R is the one that gets shown first and the one with the snow pouring down. This guy should have added name on which is which to avoid mixups.
Aaron Vivas We are well aware that the first is AC:R and the second is AC1, AC1 looks better. It has color and the character models doesnt looking cartoony like ACR does.
Climb to the top of Masyaf and parachute over it. Alternately just play the third Altair level and murder everyone once Maria dies and you're free to roam around in it.
also, AC1 has very poor contrast and overuse of blue for shadowing things that arent receded enough to blue shift (like mountains in the horizon tend to do). ACR has better contrast and doesnt do this, which improves the scale and proper sense of distance...and this was not even anvilNext or anvilNext 2.0. Ubisoft did a great job with improving their engine from the very basic one in the first game
