Today Jason discusses the upcoming Assassin's Creed. Asassin's Creed Shadows, There are many problems with this game, and none of them have to do with the race of the main character's race. There are issues with pricing and what not, as well as just general Ubisoft shenanigans. but at the end of the day the issues really have little to do with the race of the main character. People seem to truly love making something so non-important, central to their view of the game. it's quite sad really. I think the controversy is stupid. However I think wanting diversity is important. I've only honestly taken note of Asian diversity the last few years since Eric from my channel noted he doesn't see much himself. I don't think the race or location matter much. I do think arguing that there's 1 Asian lead generally is a fair point but if we argued there's African American leads to reply to that diversity issue it'd be a hot topic no? I think Asian people are a bit underrepresented and much larger issues. But there's no controversy. I think they should have had an Asian lead male and female in shadows but also, they should have more Asian characters in every AC game. And apply that to every nationality where they can. But especially where there's an opportunity. I really only took note of shadows because of shogun and both having non Asian lead male stars who are there to save Japan.... Just feels off to me but it is what it is. It's not a big deal imo.

Overall. I didn’t need a Black character. I do find the controversy hilarious. They are bothered by a Black samurai and not teleporting assassins that can leap from 200 ft up into loose leaf or hay piles. But accuracy!!

@@RShaun yeah those people are dumb but yeah saying that Asian representation is good isn't dumb imo. I reckon they wrote the female and decided to add a male for sales. Like Odyssey.

I just don't understand how Asian people or specifically Japanese people are underrepresented when you have half our games that come out for PC or console from Japanese developers. All those games have Japanese leads and specifically Japanese male leads. If anything white people and asian people should never complain about representation because they have had plenty of it since PS1 came out in the 90's. Every Final Fantasy game I can remember specifically the most recent two games had Japanese male leads. We don't have black led game studios and definitely don't have an entire country developing games that have black representation. It seems more that because this one specific franchise doesn't have an asian male lead that it caused people to lose their minds. I find the entire thing ridiculous and comes across as more entitled than anything else. Why don't Japanese game developers have black leads male or female? I've never seen it but black people don't lose their minds when the new Final Fantasy game has zero black representation not even a side character. The complaints of Asian representation are as hollow as someone complaining about white representation there is plenty of it for the past three decades and if because one franchsie decides to do something no Japanese developer has ever done and have black representation while still having an asian lead that causes outrage. It comes across as being racist and sexist more than anything else. I challenge anyone to refute what I said and find me out of the 1000's of games that Japanese studios have made or currently making one game that has a black male lead.

Ubisoft has ridiculous pricing schemes. But I did love Assassin's Creed Odyssey and have been waiting for them to go to Japan. I'm not paying full price though. I'll either use Ubisoft plus or wait a month for the game to go on discount.

Ubisoft+ has a one week free trial I recommend using if you haven't when Outlaws or Shadows drops. Even if you have $18 for a month if you wait till both gamea are out is not a bad deal at all, when considering all these games now cost at least $70 each.

The price is insane. Sony pushed and Ubisoft won. I think it was over when PS5 launched this price issue.

If Ubisoft didn't make quality games that $18 a month would be ridiculous to pay lol. Honestly though with how much games cost $18 a month seems like a steal in comparison. Good thing is I still think they do free trials so if you do that and can play Shadows and Outlaws for free it be hard to complain lol.

@@PeterAmet Most the Assassins Creed games are great, most Far Cry games are great, even the Avatar game that came out this year was fun. Unless you don't like any of those games lol.

@@PeterAmet Mirage by far is the most boring and feels like a tech demo most the time when playing. I do love Valhalla but out of Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla it's my least favorite. Black Flag I just started and I can see why people have it at the top when it comes to AC games. AC 3 I never fully finished but absolutely loved that AC as well.

yeah somebody says woke and i stop listening. if u dont understand just replace woke with a slur and youre good. if Shadows doesnt have mtx (in which case the descision between this and GoT is void) ill see which one has the better gore and more visceral combat
