They watched the wrong trailer lol Ubi does these narration trailers for those with disabilities One of the things ubi actually does really well is being as thoughtful toward gamers with disabilities and giving them options to enjoy their games. They were one of the game publishers/devs who worked with Microsoft and Sony on making their controllers designed for those with disabilities. Ubi also does some of the best work for menu narrations and color blindness options in their games. That is what this trailer is for too. For those with a visual impairment and also for those who just like to breakdown all things gaming. It gives us insight to what the script looked like when coming up with a trailer. Ubi also offers free code camps and game design lessons through Uplay and their website. They get a lot of hate but they do a lot of things really well too

Contrary to popular media, Yasuke was never appointed a samurai or anything of the like, he only served as a vassal under Oda Nobunaga and often carried his tools and such. Though this game could be cool if done right, but its ubisoft and they haven't made a good AC game in years.

The most horrifying racist thing about UBI is that if the Japanese protagonist is not our samurai, we won't be able to empathize with him, so we'll make him a foreigner. But if they were white, people would complain that it was whitewashed, so they made them black. While clearly justifying cultural appropriation and cultural cleansing to make Japanese people and culture into their own, they also use the token of being black to comply with their own country's political correctness. It's a blatant ethnocentrism that doesn't care about politics when it comes to Japanese people who are outside of their own community, but cares about minorities who are inside their own community.

Hilarious way to watch a trailer 😂… I’m here for the Feudal Japan stuff. I loved Ghost of Tsushima. I played the last Assassin’s Creed game Mirage and lost interest quick. Wasn’t feeling it. Odyssey and Valhalla are still my favorite Assassin’s Creed games. This could possibly join them if the story and gameplay hits. The Onimusha series is still my GOAT Samurai game series.

Yasuke (弥助 or 弥介) was a man, likely of African origin, who served as a servant and retainer to the Japanese daimyō Oda Nobunaga in 1581-1582, during the Sengoku period.[2] He was retained by the daimyō as a koshō (小姓, page) for a period of 15 months until Nobunaga's death in the Honnō-ji Incident.[3][4]

Thing is, nothing about Yasuke is woke and people are overreacting. Yasuke being a protagonist? Please, it is not a woke. As a stranger freed by Nobunaga from missionary slaver's vile hand, he is a legit protagonist. And Jesuit missionaries are Templars in AC. It makes him a perfect potential Assassin recruit. So shut up and have fun. I hate woke, but he is actually a samurai who was given his name, land(yeah, if someone is given land, he can get revenue and draft Ashigaru soldiers from that land. It makes him a samurai), and served Nobunaga as his page.

Yasuke was not a samurai he was a swordsman in the army but not a samurai.

He was. A general named Matsudaira Ietada met Yasuke during their Kai campaign, and specifically mentioned he was given a stipend as samurai(fuchi), and Nobunaga's biography says he was given a house and a weapon. Especially, Daimyo personally presenting someone a weapon means a lot in medieval Japan. He was clearly a low-ranking samurai who served Nobunaga in close range. Not a commoner servant or a soldier. But you don't have to be obsessed with a title 'samurai'. There are plenty of low-ranking samurai with boring jobs and only a couple of soldiers under their command. I believe people are seriously overreacting over a title of 'samurai'. Truth is, he was a samurai and Nobunaga showed respect to a degree, but it didn't mean a lot and his role was limited.

@@bonkbong5692 my guy kosho is a pageboy, not a samurai. He knew nobunaga for just over a year before he died. He never made him a samurai. Vassal yes but not all vassals would be samurai it just meant they were gifted something such as property or land. Letada mentions seeing him and the fact he would recieve a stipend and his physical appearance nothing of being a pledged samurai. It would be directly mentioned in writing if he was a samurai. There is nothing wrong with being a kosho, it would be seen as an honourable title but why they bend it to be more I have a problem with the same way I have problem with how they portray balian becoming lord in kingdom of heaven. Historical fact can be just as interesting. I mean he had a minder the entire time they won't put that in the game either which is a shame because then he would have someone to bounce off like a "Bob" character from the last samurai or know all to explain everything. But let be honest AC is sub par and has been for a while and this type of division and controversy will help them either way

I agree if i dont wanna play as one character i shouldnt have too. Thats the beauty of an rpg and where two different factiins could work together and teach you different skills. Like i want a full fledged ninja evey mission i should be able to use one. So I'm already disappointed.

Yasuke was never a samurai, he was a prisoner and beast of Nobunaga. He died as a result of mistreatment. Yasuke as a samurai is a myth, more of a lie. Yasuke was a poor guy who suffered mistreatment until his death, because Emperor Nobunaga used him as a fairground freak to have fun by exhibiting him in front of his court.

None of what you said is true, nor makes any sense. Even the Japanese portray Yasuke as a Samurai in most if not all of their depictions of him, and if not a samurai, then at least a powerful and respected warrior. I've seen Yasuke in the game Nioh, where he is a boss character you fight, and also in Samurai Warriors 5, where he is a playable character just like all the other Japanese warriors in the game. You should send your complaints about his depiction to the Japanese.

Wow! The original story and characters for this game were actually really good but they traded it for virtue signaling and identity politics. Apparently, the original story and characters included Hattori Hanzo and other key figures in a battle against Oda Nobunaga. The main character was suppose to be a Monk who eventually gets trained by the famous Shinobi Hattori Hanzo to retrieve an ancient and powerful weapon which is wielded by a power hungry Nobunaga and to stop him. They could have still had Yasuke in that original story as a side character who you meet or even DLC content but they decided to make the game a "woke" trash 🔥 Im so tired of our beloved games and entertainment properties being ruined by identity and gender politics. This is our escapism from that political real world bullshit and they constantly wanna throw it in our faces. Id rather play Rise of the Ronin, Ghosts of Tsushima, Samurai Warriors, or Onimusha that this Assassins Creed: Shadow of its former self.

Reading the ubisoft store description of the game, it seems that the 2 characters have entirely different skill-trees and levels and from how it describes the "choose your playstyle" gameplay, it sounds like you can play one character exclusively without touching the other if you so choose

My all time favorite is Origins, with Bayek. In just this trailer I already have some emotional interest in Yasuke. I wanna know about HIS story and explanations of how he got to Japan ect. I want to know his roots and what His story is. I also would prefer the main focus on Him. I think it looks great and excited to play it. 💪🏽

Ah, how splendid! The game features a black character and a woman as its main protagonists-both epitomes of political correctness. This choice alone could easily earn the game a perfect score of 1000 in the eyes of some. However, for someone like me, who views such decisions with a hint of skepticism, I'd reserve such high praise only if I were a shapeshifter, capable of altering my perceptions at will.
