To all fans of the channel, don't forget to thumbs up the video. I noticed from the thumbs down that there are haters that started disliking the video. Based on the topic, I imagine they are the culture war types that don't want to see anything other than straight males (pause) and fewer colors.
Fan knows why Ubisoft chose a black character to tell the story of a samurai instead of renowned Japanese characters and that is why they're pissed. It is Ubisoft who are the racist.
@@hekam Shut up the racists are the white boys that only care about Asians as samurai, ninja, or monks basically stereotypes. Where are the game with Asian main characters as regular characters like a Detective, Cop, or Veteran military family man? You beta males don't give a damn about Asian people.
Here is the Japan definition of a retainer . A retainer refers to a vassal in feudal Japan, usually a samurai providing military services. Don’t let these clear folks tell you it just means a servant or sword holder. They had no issues when their people played as Egyptians in movies.
for the white and black foreigners. i will make it easier for you to understand what a samurai is. a samurai is a noble warrior from a noble family that serve a royal family. it is the equivalent of a knight for you westerners. just because a japanese person is holding a weapon, it doesn't mean he is automatically a samurai. just like in western culture. there is a big difference between a knight and a foot soldier or a mercenary. just because a white guy is fighting in a war in the medieval era it doesn't mean he is a knight./
You know what I don't get? The people who "claim" that played these AC games and are mad seems to forget that intro text that appears in every AC game since 2007. "INSPIRED by historical events and characters, this work of FICTION was designed, developed, and produced by a multicultural team of various beliefs, sexual orientations and gender identities."
I've been wanting itsreal to play a assassin's creed game for years and it's finally happening. Hopefully it's good and you try some of the older ones from the past too🔥
Will the thing is there using blacks as the gateway to push the alphabet mafia, next assassin's creed will be a transgender. Black people are being used in order to push an agenda.
@@Flickem5 they are still history accurate tho even the monster's are in that country's history just mixed with assassins creed bullshit with the old ones
Now when it come to game ownership, I prefer physical copies as much as possible. I had one game get removed from my library back in the day and I said never again lol
They mad that a black dude is the protag in a assassins creed game 🤣 but they accepted and was silent on tom cruise and that game nioh of a white samurai🤣 🤦🏾♂️
I'm mad because Itsreal will probably finish this new Ubisoft turd, after half assing it through Ghost of Tsushima. Using "half-assed" loosely, not sure he even made it half way.
Personally Idc if he’s was or was not black but what you said is factually wrong. You definitely wasn’t around when that movie was released. An it shows because that was apart of that movie’s controversy. What you did was deflect but now you look dumb🤦🏽♂️
You do realise that black people have been protagonists in other Assassin's Creed games, yeah? The Last Samurai wasn't about Tom Cruise's character. It was about Ken Watanabe's character. Nioh is a high fantasy game that took inspiration from a legitimate foreign Samurai, William Adams. The game was made by Japanese artists in a Japanese studio. A big difference from a French studio.
@@distortedsoul27 there is no difference 😂. Assasin's Creed is all fantasy. None of that happened lil bro, especially not the last few. Yall love to lie about why you don't like it, but the fact is you don't like it because the guy is black. None of you would have opened your mouth if they used the white Adam dude.
developers literally said they made Yasuke a MC because they wanted to be accurate to Japanese history with having a "Black Samurai" so wtf you talking about 🤦♂️🤣. They are making up Japanese history by creating their own narrative on Yasuke when he wasn't even a Samurai in the first place smfh
Just one thing. Cause I see this thrown around a lot. Tom Cruise was not the last samurai he was an American captain the last samurai was the guy Watanabe played.
I think the reason people like full gameplays is so they can watch the full series when it’s complete.. Ik i definitely love hitting the playlist for full gameplays when I’m doing something or driving long distances.
They were calling the game all types of We Wuz and now they're claiming they supported it lmao. I'm sure in a couple of years or so these clowns will be talking about how much they loved and supported Yasuke.
They were mad because of the change to the games formula, I swear you guys will do anything to try and make other people look bad, just do you can feel more correct in your mind 😂

I played the first Assasins Creed and the last one they dropped they are fun but its all the same concept just different places. Ghost of Tsushima was amazing I beat that and the DLCs you should revisit. I'll definitely play this new one.
Fact: Yasuke Yasuke was the only African and first non-Japanese samurai. His story began around 1579 in Edo Japan. Not much is known about his life before arriving in Japan. Some say he was from the country of Mozambique and came to Japan on a ship with an Italian missionary named Alessandro Valignano on an inspection tour
I didn't watch the trailer but I saw the Black dude and knew people were going to be mad. I wonder if it's that dude Yasuke I only know that name because of the Anime I watched. Apparently he was actually a real person though
Yeah he was a real person and the only person Nobunaga loved more than his ex lover Ranmaru Mori. I think there's a quote where Nobunaga tells Yasuke he is the one that made him forget about his lost love Ranmaru.
I do get why people are mad but yasuke is a part of japanese history he was an retainer for oda nobunaga. They may not have classified him as a samurai but he did take part in 2 or 3 battles if i remember correctly.
Which battles were those? He wasn't a retainer btw, but a page. In Japan the distinction between kashin (retainer/administration) and kosho (page/squire) is a thing.
I honestly thought it wasnt the game but i thought it was about when ubisoft wanted to charge us for how much we play the game instead of paying a flat price when we bought it. Then said that people technically dont own the games or something like that
More recently than that, both of Deathloop’s (2021) main characters are Black. Also I know a lot of people hated the game and the character, but the lead of Forspoken which came out just last year was Black too. It’s sad but there’s a long ass breadcrumb trail of racism throughout the internet whenever a Black character is the main character of anything unless it’s already considered a “Black” story.
@@basketballgokuSucka quit pulling the race card for no reason. Forsaken was donkey water. Never heard any hate for Deathloop. According to you I guess people are racist against white people as well because the AC fanbase hates both Odyssey and Valhalla.
As an Asian dude, we don’t get a lot of representation outside of samurai or martial arts games so I was bummed at first. Just like how Boots said he was gonna play because there’s a brother in it, I’ve done the same with games like GTA Chinatown Stories and Sleeping Dogs. It’s ok to want to see ppl that look like you in games. But I can’t stand these MFs hating on it simply because the dude is black, and turn around acting like they’re trying to defend representation for Asians and Japanese ppl. They don’t actually care about that because they get mad even if there’s a black NPC in a medieval game. Just call it what it is.
I understand your position and you have a right to feel bummed out. I'm honestly happy to play Yasuke since this will be his video game debut as a main character to my knowledge but if the shoe was on the other foot I would honestly be disappointed. I'm sure there will be a DLC with an Asian male lead.
@@kurobeard9467 thats why I believe ubisoft should of had him as one of those interesting npc characters first then made him playable down the line in a DLC release.
You do realize this ubisoft right cause 1 most of the content is lock to get it you gotta pay 129 dollars to get it second I think you need to have internet 3rd ubisoft make their games slop throughout the yrs so I'm keeping my expectation low until I see what the gameplay looks like and I don't really care if this had a black samurai I wanna know how good the story is like I said its ubisoft.
@@KingJoeENT we shall see, people like asmagold said gaming companies are money hungry and that they don't really put forth thr effort in the game cause they know people will buy microtransaction (basically live off of it)which I agree. @@traiwooten3711 I do the same exact thing. On certain games I wait for the gamers on RU-vid to play it 1st then I'll make the judgement call. And plus microtransactions is what's killing the "fun" in the gaming industry.
Not to shit on everyone's parade, but look up Yasuke on wikipedia. He was more than a servant but not a samurai. Sort of like a squire to a nobleman. But he was real and I see no issue in fictionalizing him.
Nobody complained about Tom Cruise in the last samurai movie, a white guy going to feudal Japan, and made a samurai.. fictional character, but yasuke is a real person that came close to nagato! And has somewhat of a story…
While Cruise’s character, Nathan Algren, was fictional, he and several other important characters were all inspired by real people. Algren was based on Jules Brunet, a French military officer who played a key role in the events of that time. Ken Watanabe’s character, Katsumoto, was based on Saigo Takamori, another key figure of the era. Also, Algren was never made Samurai. They gave him a sword and told him he was cool, but he was never anything more than a captured enemy turned friend. Also literally everyone complained. There’s like 10 ppl in the world who have seen the movie and understand that it’s not a “white savior” movie, it’s completely the opposite. The samurai and their culture/way of life save him. Every single time someone mentions it, what they’re really doing is rehashing the Paul Mooney bit about it from Chappelle’s Show.
That movie did get criticized a lot, and it was 20 years ago. He got his ass kicked throughout the movie and was never the leader, he served the leader and fought with them. And it was more about him learning their culture than going around killing people.
Man rocky(the fictional movie character) was inducted into the REAL Boxing HOF. They really can't say nothing about this after doing something that ridiculous
Tom Cruise was a storytelling tool. His character was based on a real French person that became a samurai IRL but even then, his character was not the actual main lead. It was Katsumoto and his men.
They mad because they don't wanna pay $130+ for pre order but is perfectly fine about paying almost $2000 for just a computer, hell a laptop is more and is willing to buy that, they just need to grow up is all
I agree I'm getting it just because it's a brotha and because they're pissed off by the "shadow" character🤣 The 1st and only Assassin Creed I played was the 4th Black flag. But that's cause I like pirates🤣
The messed up thing is it ain't even the Asian,Japanese, or etc etc people thats mad about it's the you know what people 😂😂😂😂 they acting like it's apart of they history or something 😂😂😂😂
They can get mad or play the dozens of Japanese games that's been released in the last 10 years based on this samurai stuff. Nioh, Rise of the Ronan, Ghost of Shushima, Wu long. People be acting like they don't have options.
Assassin's Creed is my favorite game series. I've played almost every game. I'm so excited for the new game!! I'm glad they have a black protagonist!! I can't for it to drop! I just need a ps5 😅
Nah bro it's the racist that are actually pushing people to go out and buy it honestly this game would have had LESS numbers if yall didn't blow it up cause I didn't even care about the game just like haven't cared about assassian creed since 2014 but because of the racist WHO GET IGNORED BY YOU and pretend everyone is on the same page and has no ulterior motives which is just insane when you read the comments 😂 because of that I'll support this game and I haven't bought a assassian creed game in a decade
Now if more of you called out the blatant racism and then talked about the problems with this game then ok I'd stand with you but racist are actually pushing people to just get the game and no I'm not calling everyone who dislikes the game a racist I'm talking about the people typing "We Wuz Samurai And Sheeeit" and other vile racist comments
From my understanding. It's going to split the stealth and assassin section for the Female Shinobi and the Hack And Slash combat of recent AC games would be with Yasuke.
They kinda had a brotha in the game when they did Odyssey. He was Egyptian and Egypt is in Africa soooo lol last game itsreal85 played a game with a black protagonist was GTA 5 or 25 to Life… They always make us the criminals or gang members or like an anti hero style protagonist. Oh shit Spider Man Miles Morales… bam perfect protagonist 😂😂
I'm hoping it's based on the real person and that's why they did that. They need to go all in and give some good story to his character, it'll be dope if they actually do. Not like with the last ones when they say the female one is the canon protagonist but only use and market the game with the male on the cover.
@@majora919Okay since you didn't understand that then let's reverse it. Resident Evil 5. White Man goes on a mission shooting, punching, stabbing, breaking necks of hundreds of Infected Africans. The main issue people have is that this is the first AC game set in feudal japan. So we expected to play as a male Japanese protagonist. Having Yasuke in the game isnt a problem. He could had been a mintor or companion. He could even have his own side story or DLC. We're just upset we didnt get to play as a Japanese man like we wanted and expected. Is it wrong to want to play as a Japanese man in a Japanese setting? Just imagine the first AC game set in aincent Africa and you play as a Chinese man. Everyone would be upset.
exactly, old AC players have been dreaming of an Asian themed game ever since, now we got this mess. (this hurt especially to those Asian Americans who loved AC games and wanted a game that represent their culture, but NO, you gotta play as a 6 feet 2 black man in feudal Japan)
AC cinematic trailers always look dope and hopefully the story is solid. The one thing I’m skeptical about is the release date. Idk I was hyped when they announced they were finally working on a AC game set in Japan but I would’ve liked to see it at least released next summer in 2025. Only because their last game AC Mirage came out last year so I’m skeptical about whether this one has had enough time to cook in the oven because like I said AC cinematics are always dope but the games don’t always live up to they hype like they used to. I actually really liked AC Valhalla so if this one gets that treatment or even better I’ll be satisfied but I don’t want them to just pump this one out too quick trying to ride the hype train. Yasuke is also a really dope character to add. Say what you want but with what little we know about him it’s an interesting little story in history. And since we don’t know a whole lot you can make some really interesting stories with him and get creative with the characters. But he hasn’t been portrayed very well in media. I don’t mean he’s been portrayed offensively just that the stuff he’s been in has been pretty wack😂. It does feel like most stuff that adds him gets excited about hitting their diversity quota and thinking the headline “black samurai” will sell their show or whatever. But then they forget to actually write a good show😄. Like they spent the whole time celebrating all the hype online and then a few months before the show is supposed to air they panic and just throw something together😂. Like bro I’m here and I’m interested but you forgot to write anything good. Like a lot of time it’s not even pandering to black people with how he’s portrayed. He’s just written boring in boring stories. Like we don’t know a whole lot about him irl so that’s where it’s time to get creative and give him an interesting personality but nope we get a stoic boring black samurai fighting magical wizards and robot mechs or whatever 😂.
People are mad a main character is black that isn’t a thug or a convict like in GTA V or San Andreas… I could understand if Yasuke was invented for the game but it is recorded that he existed and did in fact become a samuraï… I bet if the game was based in South Africa and the main character was white they would not mind… People felt the same way when Miles Morales was first created 🤷🏾♂️

Again, he did exist so why outcry? There are plenty other invented characters and yet the one that did exist get the hate… They are not trying to rewrite history, they are simply telling a narrative in a fictional universe based on and in a true time period of time… I could understand if they made a game based in ancient Rome and made the Emperor black or in Old Greece and made a philosopher black…
