Also I like to think the only reason Syndicate is still set in the same period is because of the Box, if Ubisoft are clever about this, they can Tie together, Unity Rogue & Syndicate, just by using the box as the main plot point. Also the Sword of Eden ties in nicely because I feel like The box has always mostly resided in France, I had an idea for how Ezio got the box.... Joan of Arc, she needed to take the sword of Eden to the French Assassins, what if she also had the box, it makes sense because it always ends up in french hands, not sure if that is relevant, but it could make sense, since Ezio and Machiavelli went to France when Leonardo died, this could be when he acquired the Box, as it's one of the only things of note that we don't really see, since we see everything from 17 year old Ezio to 48 year old Ezio and any time we didn't see with between 1507- 1511 & 1512 - 1524 and in 1519 Ezio went to see leonardo... Maybe this is where he picked up the box as he went to Ambroise which is a place Joan of Arc passed through in 1429

To answer your questions: 1.- it ended up in hands of Napoleon and he lost it with the English Templars (as you stated). 2.- no, they won't mention the box but it might be seen somewhere near that shroud the Frye brothers are looking for. 3.- For sure... but any of the people who have gotten their hands on it (Assassins and Templars) really deciphered its uses. 4. From Altair, without any doubt. In AC revelations, Ezio is able to go in the library of him and actually sees him in his bones but, when he opened that wall to discover another apple of Eden, he realizes that there's way more to know about the first civilization that he prefers not to take it. I'm sure in that library or in the original Assassins fortress, Ezio found it and understood that whatever was inside of it... just one of the Creed would have a good use of it and would protect it from Templars.

Great video! I love this serie yet I agree as many that after Desmond story passed Ubisoft is taking several directions without a major story line that make sense, good ideas that do not link, like Unity that tried to link AC Rogue, after Arno finding about his real Dad why he would never go after Shay, the confrontation could be a good plot.

Theory sounds spot on, especially the bit about Napoleon having the box in Unity. It does look exactly the same and what's more it provides a reasonable explanation as to how he found that temple, which itself is never actually explained anywhere else. Seeing as he's easily one of the most important figures in European history, holding a massive amount of power and influence during his lifetime, him being involved with the Pieces of Eden lines up, as Ubisoft has had other such figures be involved with them in similar ways. (Ghandi, Jesus Christ, Alexander the Great, etc.) There's just as you said, a fairly large amount of time between Unity and Syndicate, during which anything could've happened to the box. It could've ended up at the bottom of the sea, just like Washington/Connor's Apple did for a while. But even if it did it'll probably just turn up again in the new game. If it does i'm wondering what purpose its going to serve exactly. If the different Assassin groups have been keeping in contact, which as far back as Black Flag was then the norm, then Jacob and Evie should both be aware to some extent of what the box is, or at least that it's important to the overal Assassin/Templar conflict. But beyond that it doesn't seem like the box itself can effect things directly, like the Apple or Sword of Eden can. It's really just useful in that it can lead people to these temples.

I think you should try to check out the puzzles with symbols in AC2. When we had to find the apples on the different drawings, the one was on the Napoleon's picture. So what I mean: if you continue to make a research following your theory, you can probably predict the next AC games and the histories of different artifacts.

I have a theory about the box, It's kinda crazy and Long winded, I might make a video on it, because after watching yours it has inspired me to make another theory video

I think that the box will appear in AC Syndicate, and I also think that we will find out more about it in the game. I think that they can tie in the box into the present day. Since Desmond died, we haven't really had any idea about what's going on in the assassins Templar war during modern day, and this box could be the way to find the rest of the pieces of Eden and beat the Templars, maybe the sages have something to do with it...

1. Shay said that 'they would start a revolution of their own'. Since he is in France, the man he killed was Arno's father, and the fact that the French Revolution is about to begin at that point, it is relatively safe to assume that the box was used to start the French Revolution. How, I have no idea, but perhaps it simply pointed to more First Age artifacts. The Sage in the Unity game had access to the sword, so it wouldn't be wild to assume that he figured out how to use it to open the box. So, after Shay's death it might have indeed ended up in Napoleon's hands. After that, it's mostly guesswork from what Ubisoft has given us, but it might have ended up in London as they captured Napoleon and sent him to St. Helena and took any of his possessions. 2. It didn't, right? I didn't really pay attention to it to be honest. 3. The box probably has other uses given Ezio's comment, although that doesn't need to be the case. The 'Head of St Denis' in the Dead Kings DLC had an Apple of Eden in it. Perhaps that was used to whip the French people into a frenzy? Don't forget that the French Revolution was at least A reason the peace-treaty between the Assassins and Templars was broken. If it weren't such unstable times, the treaty might have lasted longer. Perhaps the French Revolution was a way to break the Assassins power in Europe, as the Templars power has been broken in the Americas. 4. Ezio seemingly traveled a lot after the events in Brotherhood, as we see him pop-up in Byzantium of all places, and there was talk in other games about how he improved the position of the Assassins all over Europe. Maybe he found the box somewhere during his travels and managed to open it (else the comment to Shao Jun makes no sense whatsoever, and that's not Ezio's style, so to say).

4) Well Ezio did say "only if you lose your way" (in reference to opening it) so it's my educated guess that it probably showed him something more than a map, so it may have other uses as well

+Tynamite This was a wonderful video, but you were wrong about one thing. The box that Napoleon takes that has a gold glow is actually an Apple of Eden. In ACII, you find out through one of the glyph puzzles he was the owner of one. I guess that was where he got it from. It would be nice to see Ubisoft bring back the Apples, they were kinda forgotten about.

Wow I really like this theory! Haven't watched Embers in a while and totally forgot about Ezio giving Shao Jun it and that it was the same one in Rouge. I'm 95% certain The Box will be in Syndicate. If Napoleon did have it in Unity DLC than I think most likely he took it with him to Britain, and the Frye Twins will stumble upon it. Or if Shay had it till his death and then maybe he visited London at some point and left it there with the Templars. Also your comment about Shay and Jacob looking alike brings to another theory of Shay finding a wife in London and the box being passed down through the family. Since Shay killed Arno's dad in 1776 and Syndicate takes place in 1868 that is plenty of time for the family to switch sides to Assassin. I mean the Kenway family switched sides from father to son, so there is a possibility that Shay's decedents joined the Assassins at some point. But I guess we just have to wait till October to find out but still great theory.

I think inside the box is a letter about the brotherhood and the locations of the all the brotherhood members and in every game is where one of the members died and that’s why it takes place in all different locations bc think of this ezio found Altair and maybe when he found him he also found the box and opens it and it was that letter so ezio made the brotherhood to continue Altair’s legacy

I think you are right about Napoleon having the box and the manuscript. It explains how he found the temple under Franciade. However, I do not think Syndicate will feature the box as from what I've seen and heard, it looks like Syndicate will focus on the shroud of eden. I think the box and manuscript were used mainly to tie together AC4 and AC3, with them being the reason Shay defected and the colonial brotherhood was wiped out just before Connor came along, as well as kick-starting the events of ACU with Shay killing Arno's dad. Another point I'd like to make is that it seems to be a trend in the franchise that once we know where something is in the modern day, we no longer focus on its whereabouts in the past. Examples: We were told by Lucy in AC1 that Altair's POE was destroyed in modern times, so even though it was in existence during Ezio's life, it was never a focus point in the story, rather, we focused on finding Ezio's POE. Once we had that, the focus moved to they key to the vault, until we found it. Then we played through the whole observatory fiasco, and it seemed rather important, but in either Rogue or Unity (i can't remember) there is a file documenting Master Templar Otso Berg's excavation of the observatory in the modern day. He mentions that the assassins seem to have buried it at some point, and it has mostly collapsed. He states that finding the blood vials and sages would be more worth their time than the building itself, so we can infer that it will not be the focus of another game. Going off of this trend, I think that now that we know what part the box played during the mid to late 1700's as well as its current whereabouts in the hands of the Templars, I think that story arc is over.

Very interesting theory. Following AC from the beginning and knowing how Ubisoft is when it comes to not only the history but the plot, they make sure not to confuse their fans with too much. There are times where they do but that's where videos such as this one come in handy. Anyways, Ubisoft tends to stick with one thing for every powerful artifact. For example, when Ezio had the apple he was only able to use the powers that we've all seen , duplicates of himself and 'zapping' the life out of his enemies. It's like that for every PoE thus far. Another power doesn't magically come from it. So when it comes to terms with the box I don't think it will have another ability and if it does then it probably won't just happen without explanation first. I do believe the box will resurface cause as I said before, Ubisoft doesn't usually drop something like that. Lastly, I do think Ezio knew what the box could do only because he told Shao not to open it unless she was lost. You would think he wouldn't tell her that unless he himself knew. This is going off of said theory about him visiting France is correct. Anything is possible though because at the end of revelations he did say he was through with the artifacts and trying to find answers. Sorry for such a lengthy response.

Most probably napoleon had apple because in AC II puzzles there are photos which you scan and there’s one of napoleon who had apple inside his coat

Maybe it has an apple encased in the box because like in A.c.1 the apple revealed different locations of pieces of Eden. Maybe just like the lantern in dead kings it wad placed in there. (Maybe by Ezio)

Go to to 10:05 and he talks about it being in London. Assassins Creed Syndicate is in London. The game could very well show the box or at least mention it's location. But hopefully if they do go back to being able to play as a someone outside the Animus they could do what Desmond did in Assassins Creed 3 and use it, although Desmond is dead at least physically the new protagonist could use it. But all this is just a thought. Hopefully one that comes to pass though.

Thanks to more information in Assassins Creed chronicles Russia we know that the box went to Russia and to the Tsar family. The protagonist has a necklace with a small cristal that connects with the box and unlocks a secret power to it which gives the Chinese assassin control over Anastasia Romanov (the last surviving Romanov).

Actually, at the end of dead kings, you can see Arno giving the box to a man getting into a carriage, and he tells him to "give it to Al Mualim in Cairo". Since England basically owned Egypt, where Cairo is, the box could have gotten to the Frye siblings through England's relationship with Egypt.

Ezio may have gotten the the box from someone at Constantinople, or Machiavelli and/or the Italian Brotherhood may have found it and brought it to Ezio. Hell the last time we heard about The Shroud, Giovanni Borgia had it along with a Crystal Skull.

It is hard to say wether Ezio saw what the box what capable of however I think that it didn't matter in the end and he learn more secrets about the ones that came before that wooden box. I would probably think that they would incorporate the box into syndicate someway how the box seems to stand as a mystery of its primary purpose. It would be nice when they finish the AC franchise to sum all the games together with all AC secrets and mysterious uncovered. Assassins creed is the only came I know that uses real periods in History and uses real figures.

I think you're theory is right and that it will be in syndicate. I also think it has to have other uses or else why would Ezio say "only if you lose your way". Maybe he saw that she had eagle sense like him. And this is just a minor note but in ac lore you need special DNA to have eagle vision, but that means every single person we play as doesn't have eagle vision they probably just let us use it for that character because it's part of the game. The only confirmed people to actually have it are Altair, Ezio, and Edward. Anyways back to your final question, I hope we get a flashback showing exactly where Ezio got it, and he's clearly seen what it has to offer, maybe there's a special message or something.

Most likely yeah.. As a major plot point maybe not sure or at least (and that's for sure) as a small hint or glimpse to it's existence.. 3. I think it only serves to comprehend, study, traduce, ancient artifacts of first civ and therefore leading to other temples and stuff.. 4. Now my theory is that Ezio found the box thanks his apple and we all know that Juno manipulated history thanks to the artifacts and did it to lead Desmond to her, etc.. So we know she was let's say 'inside' that apple and is the one who told Ezio to place it in the coliseum (just like Tinia is the one who talked all these years to Altair through his apple...), and so the box would be part of Juno's plan! OR Leonardo and Ezio built that box to comprehend all the ancient artifacts but then Leonardo died (of old age) and Ezio saw himself with no time and a young assassin at his door step so he gave to Shao Jun so she could use it only if she "loses her way" but I think he meant if she stumbled into weird stuff... like ancient artifacts that glow stuff. Also maybe years later the assassins or templars in possession of that box saw the danger it represented and so found a way to "seal" it and now it can only be opened with a big electric pulse.

I don't know if someone already posted the same answer but I think back in revelations at the end of the last mission when ezio opens the vault where the apple is if you look carefully theres is a box behind it so I think altaïr was the very first owner of the box but this is only a possibility I don't know what you think guys :)

I think that there is a pretty good probability of shay and Jacob are related because I'm pretty sure ubisoft has revealed that the twins are not born in London. It might make sense if they are related that the box could have been passed down through shays family.

This is my theory, or at least what could have happen to Ezio for him to get a hold of this interesting box. It all starts at the end of Revelation, we see Ezio staring at the apple of Eden that Altiar had possession of all of his life, up until he fateful death. Sure Ezio said that he would not touch the apple and learn it secrets, but who can be certain that Ezio did not change his mind and took possession of Altiar piece of Eden, I mean he did know the location of the apple, and we know that Ezio can unlock the secrets and channel the power that the apple possess without being overwhelmed and driven crazy. See also know that once you hold possession of an piece of Eden, it is extremely hard not to wield such an power again, so with that in mind. After Ezio retire from the brotherhood of assassins, he mind have gotten bored with such an slow pace that normal life had, and retrieve the apple of Eden that Atiar had just to relieve himself of such boredom. The piece of Eden might also have gave him the knowledge and the location of what known as "Ezio's box". That is what I believe to be what happened for Ezio to gain possession of the box.

at 11:30 did anybody else notice that Shay and Jacob both have a Scar across their right eyebrow? similar to how Ezio, Altair and Desmond all had a Scar on their lip??? just a thought...

Surely if you put a different book underneath then the box would reveal different information. They could re-use it loads to reveal new places and more information.

What if syndicate, could open to bringing in another piece of eden. Pieces of eden that are mentioned not only in the books, comics & vid games. By some strange act of destiny, that Jacob & his twin sister, comes across a tomb, like the ones seen in AC:2 & onwards. That not only lead to armour & weapons. Early self adapting armour & weapons to the day an age for the assassins.

What about Chronicals Russia where it put Sho Jun's memories in the mind of the Tsars daughter. Where does that come into play

+Tynamite ezio took the box from the library hidden under masyaf just look at the ending and there it is (behind the apple) and in the last altair memory before he dies he has it on his hands so this are my theories 1) Altair ACTUALLY made it (if you read altairs bio you will see that he deeptly studied the apple so the apple could have shown him how to make it) 2) he found it (sometime between his younger mentor life{after killling al mualim}exhile or his last decade as mentor)

Wanna know more about the precursor box ? just wait for the Assassins Creed Chronicles Trilogy storyline . Its focus about the artifact . Ezio gave the box to Shao Jun in AC : Embers and she lost it to the hands of the Templar Order in AC Chronicles : China . Years after the downfall of Napoleon , somehow the artifact managed to get into possesion of the Indian Assassin Arbaaz Mir in Assassins Creed Chronicles:India and 200 years later owned by the Russian Assassins Nikolai Orelov in AC Chronicles:Russia through various individuals . You will learn more about the artifact in the chronicles trilogy .

This is just a vague lead on the box but you might wanna check out the new evie Frye gameplay reveal. She assassinated a Templar that is after something called the shroud, which is in a box. Might be a different poe tho I don't remember the details

I think the box has an apple in it. In ac1 we see the world map with all the POEs projected from an Apple. Ezio should still have an Apple from Brotherhood. Maybe he just put it in a box and that's why he told Shao to only open the box if she needed to.

I think shay went back to Ireland and lived there after the events in rogue maybe joined the brotherhood there and maybe in syndicate the grandmaster of the templars is Irish .

but in Chronicles The russian Campaign (1918) Nikolai has to get the box from The Tzar's palace which would explain the theory of Napoleon having the box and being defeated by the Prussians in the battle of Waterloo.

I think Napoleon was a Templar or at least had knowledge of them and didn't care much for their views considering he didn't kill Arno despite making reference to his hood appearing sinister but used what he could find about them to get to the box and/or pieces of Eden.

Idk if you'll see this, but would you mind looking into who the "she" Juno mentions at the end of Brotherhood, that will pass with Desmond through the "gate" is? It was a big thing sorta until AC3 and it seems like everyone has forgotten about it.

First,I think Napoleon won't have the box cause Shay said he is a Templar of America so he might return to America to face Conner right away. He also said they have to start their own revolution. (I don't know about American wars. I am a Taiwanese.) About new Assassin's creed game,I think they're focusing on the Phoenix Project. Jacob's loading scene make me think of that helix world Juno stay because it's all gray. In the dead kings Arno give that blue apple to Egypt,maybe Napoleon was at Egypt that time.

The box was never recovered by Shao Jun. We find out after she kills the guy at the end of China its long gone. It resurfaces in Chroncles China with abaaz hunting it down from templars tho

They're not all the same box. The Rogue box is not the same one from Embers/Chronicles, and I don't think it's yet been confirmed whether or not the Freedom Cry box is the Embers/Chronicles box or the Rogue box. Don't forget that the Embers/Chronicles box will have to end up in both India and Russia for the next two parts of AC Chronicles. In addition to that, it is likely that Syndicate will focus on the Ankh as it's primary piece of Eden based on it's location being confirmed as London within the AC universe, and the several Audio diaries in Rogue discussing the Ankh.

I think Ezio made the box. We know he traveled the world and found Pieces of eden so my theory is that he invented a way to project the locations on the map to show the way to more temples and Pieces of eden

This is off topic but in AC Brotherhood subject 16 tell Desmond to go to the garden and Eve. In the next Assassins Creed game we have a playable character called Evie. Is this just coincidence or is there a connection?

I might be possible that ezio with the knowledge provided to him by the apple(s) or other pieces of eden instructed leonardo to make it, hence why it looks the style from that time era. Just a thought tho.

Napoleon was never imprisoned in England. He was in prison on St Helena..... quite a way from England. But, it is an English territory.
