GREAT tip on the locklite ~
@HNXMedia
@HNXMedia 6 лет назад
Thanks for taking the time to watch my video and leave a comment. Yes, I learned long ago, that any time you can use some time of thread locker, use it (just make sure you use the right "strength" of thread lock - blue is the best choice on metal, usually). Many people don't know that if you are assembling wooden pieces and using metal screws, that you can use real beeswax that has been slightly heated. Rub it on the screw threads and then put the screw in the hole. When the beeswax hardens, it "locks" the screw in place. Thanks again for watching!

@HNXMedia

Just place it where you want it and make sure you screw the bolt/nut tight enough to make the clamp part hold it in place. Lay the cart on its back/side as you get it where you want and really crank down on the bolt/nut. It should hold it where ever you want. Some times it takes a lot of force to get it started, but stick with it and you'll get it together.

Welp, I tried your video after reading the pictures in the manual, and reading three blogs about putting it together. It was going great (never mind that there were no holes in my frame to put any screws in) until I put in all three shelves, and then there was a 2 inch gap on the side between the bracing poles and the top shelf. I can't tell if it's user error or I got a defective thing - this is only the second time I ever bought anything from Ikea and first time putting something together.

Thanks for this very helpful video. I’ve assembled three “official” Raskogs and one very similar off-brand. It’s a welcome addendum to the pictorial instructions. One would think I know the answer to this question. But, after no response from IKEA, I’m asking you. Before I purchase another Raskog, I’d like to know if I can assemble it with only two of the trays. Will the pieces fit if I leave a set of the side braces off? Thanks again.
@HNXMedia
@HNXMedia Год назад
You "can" but the side braces will have the ability to slide apart (up and down) without the center brace in place. Having said that, you could always epoxy them together or tap each one with a small screw to hold it together. Or you could even use the outsides of the brackets and use the two to hold one side together (at least). I think you certainly need the upper and lower baskets just to keep it stable. That's my two cents.

Could you please tell how to tighten the screws.there is no grip on outer side of the screw. The centre tray keeps slipping down.
@HNXMedia
@HNXMedia Год назад
You really have to squeeze the parts together tight for a few seconds to get the screws started (they are slightly short). It helps to have someone who can hold it and squeeze the brackets while someone else screws it together unless you have really strong hands. It was not easy for me either on the first one I built. I tend to bend/flex the bracket in the middle to make it reach and then work as quickly as I can.
@susanlewis44

Thanks for the great video. I was able to assemble the cart very easily. The only problem I have is that the wheels don't all rest evenly on the floor. Three of them rest on the floor, and the 4th is in the air and doesn't touch the floor at all. Is there a way I can fix this?
@HNXMedia
@HNXMedia 5 лет назад
Susan Lewis My suggestion would be to unscrew the “shorter” one, slip a washer over the screw part and then screw it back in. The washer will act as a “spacer.” It might take 2 washers depending on how far off it is (or how big the “gap” you are trying to correct is). Hope this makes sense. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Peace.
@susanlewis44
@susanlewis44 5 лет назад
@@HNXMedia I'm having a little trouble visualizing it, but will let the idea "percolate" a bit and maybe then I'll understand what you are saying to do.
@HNXMedia
@HNXMedia 5 лет назад
Susan Lewis LOL. If you look at the thumbnail for the video, you can see I am holding the wheel in my hand. You would slip a washer over that part with the screw threads (that I’m holding). What that will do is cause that one wheel to sit “lower” than the rest, which should balance (or level) them all out (if just one seems too short). This makes sense in my head, but I am having a heck of a time putting it into words. If I was home I would post a quick video showing what I am talking about. Best of luck. Peace.
@susanlewis44
@susanlewis44 5 лет назад

Hello, I’m having a lot of issues with the building of this, I started having issues around 4:30 in the video or so, putting the side brackets on the side bars and baskets and inserting the bolt and back pieces, any suggestions? I don’t have enough space for them to screw together.
@HNXMedia
@HNXMedia 4 года назад
They can be a little "temperamental." You just have to give them a good squeeze to make the bolts fit (i.e. be long enough). Do not use any tools such as vise grips to squeeze because you will mar the finish. Find someone with some strong hands. All you need to do is have one thread to get started and then they will compress. Do NOT give up!

Do you think it would be able to hold a tv that’s about 40 inch
@HNXMedia
@HNXMedia 3 года назад
As long at the tv has a "stand/feet" that are long enough to get down into the top basket (or you put something in the top basket to "prop it up"). Just be sure to tighten the top basket enough. The overall structural integrity of the cart is more than strong enough to hold a modern 40 inch tv (not an old CRT tv). If it was me, I would do a few zip ties (cable ties) across the tv stand into the metal basket just to prevent accident shift. Other than that, my completely unprofessional opinion is that it would be fine.
@lbfyffe4647
@lbfyffe4647 Год назад
There is no screw hole in the bottom curved brackets. So, they fit together loosely and it's not entirely stable. I had to replace the small screws provided because the screw threads didn't line up with screws. Trial and error a few of them fit, but most didn't. So, as with a lot of these 'easy to assemble' items, you need a good backup supply of your own materials to put it together.
@HNXMedia
@HNXMedia Год назад
This one is tricky. If I remember, there were two different size screws in the kit, but I could be wrong (its been a while). Like you said, always best to have spare supplies on hand for sure!

Thank you, excellent instructional video. My son and I will be setting this up in his dorm on Wednesday. In 6 weeks he moves out of the dorm. Should we try to partially dissemble for an easier fit in the car?
@HNXMedia
@HNXMedia 6 лет назад
Thanks for watching! I guess it would depend on how much room you have (or what kind of car it is). Preferably, I would just go ahead and assemble the entire thing and transport it as a completed item (an that way he can use it between now and then as well). I would not want to take the chance on a partial assembly and the possibility of loosing/misplacing parts or screw. That is just my opinion. He is going to love this thing because it is so versatile. I have about 4 of them myself (wife has another 4). I use them for organizing boxing gym stuff, another for organizing camera/computer equipment, one for running supplies, and another for general use around my office. Who needs shelves when you have one of these? They are also great because when you need to clean or reorganize, you just roll them out of the way. This will be prefect for his dorm. Thanks again for watching and I hope this helped. If you have any other questions just ask. Peace!

All you should need to do is keep increasing the tension on the middle bracket by tightening the bolt. It helps to move the basket above the "split/separation" in the vertical side rails so that it has a natural resting spot ( hope that makes sense).

Are the wheels made of rubber?
@HNXMedia
@HNXMedia 6 лет назад
The wheels are pretty much the same as what you would see on a grocery cart. I am not sure if that would qualify as "rubber" or not. All I know is that, after several years and several of these carts, they have held up SPECTACULARLY and never scratched any floor no matter how sensitive (hardwood, tile, etc). Thanks for watching and asking a GREAT question. Namaste!

THANK YOU ! Those damn instructions were perfectly fine until the wheel section. Things have 2 bolts on them for some reason when 1 is all it needs. These bloody manuals man...

Glad the video was helpful. The instructions in these things are next to useless. Stay well.

They now make you put all the sides on yourself and it is such a huge pain 😫

Mine came with only 3 casters, it's a shame that people can't count to 4!!!!

How did they even do that? They got the 8 million screws in there, but not 4 wheels?

I just got back from ikea. And I’m so disappointed. Usually I’m quite useful when putting ikea stuff together, but this one made me confused as to why it’s so wobbly and wonky. Legs one forwards and backwards. Just realised I had to turn the cart on its side and add the bottom screw 😅😂. Should’ve known. But low and behold. The screw holes is non existent. Just dented but no hole. 😒.

Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave some great comments. I hope it works out. These really are great little carts. I have 4 and my wife has a few more. I use them for everything from tools to workout gear to electronic supplies. I am constantly wanting another one since they are so versatile. Stay safe in your travels.

@@HNXMedia I just got back from ikea. Workers aren’t very helpful at return desk. Proclaimed that the bolt underneath isn’t needed. And can lock together by sliding. But everytime I let it go. It just unlocked itself. And put the sticks together etc. it was very crooked. May I ask, where do you live? As I’m wondering if every ikea trolley is the same. Or depends on countries.I’m in australia, I just opened up my grey one. Had a white one and returned it.but the bottom hole is punctured and not actually opened. Like yours is.

My screws seem to be too small 🥴

The screws on this thing are very tiny, but they actually hold it together. Getting them lined up can be difficult, but they should work. Best of luck. Peace.

You call that crap the best cart ever? Are you sniffing glue again? The middle shelf is not secure EVER on these things. We bought one and the damn thing slides down to the bottom shelf, there is no way to secure that middle shelf and you can't put any weight on it at all.

I currently own seven of these carts and have never had a single center shelf ever slip (if it is installed properly). Additionally, the frequency that I sniff glue is my business, not anyone else's. Peace.
