you never point impact load a bearing! if you need to drive a race into a bore put it on some dry ice for a couple hours or drive it in by contacting the full face of the race. If that is the general assembly process, I have serious doubts about the life of the unit. I also never saw anything about checking bearing end play. Improper bearing end play will make all the repair work and expense wasted effort.
