5:30 Holy crap someone needs to clean their gutters/eavestrough out! You know its bad when there is stuff growing in them. With all the scaffolding up someone would clean those things out! 💲😁
Great video, it was great working with you guys and seeing the professionalism that you and Oval Renewables put into your work, hopefully see you again soon! 💙💙💙🙌🙌🙌🤜🤜🤜⚡⚡⚡
Depends on your location- us Aussies have also had a 'less than happy' experience with both 'optimisers' and 'panel inverters'- who would have thunk that putting electronics on the roof that hates heat, would be a bad idea when you get 40C plus temps for weeks on end- mounted right behind panels that hit 80C plus.... I aim for southern wall mounts if not interior for the inverters- never north walls where the sun shines on them (obviously in the UK, that would be reversed)- heat kills the electronics so keep them out of places they get it- like an Aussie summer sun!!!!
What an interesting video. Personally and from a business point of you I’ve never really been interested in solar.Never in 1 million years did I ever think that electricians fitted the actual panels I’ve always thought it was the roofers job. I follow Sam from Oval renewables And he has such a interesting and engaging Instagram page never thought they actually fit the panels.Absolutely no chance would you find me on the roof. As I see on Dr Electrics videos that you actually work in the rain absolutely no chance. Thanks for a great episode
@@OvalRenewables I’m sure you are Sam as you can see from your work very neat and very thorough. We get approached weekly from roofing companies wanting solar panels connected up with them fitting it we swerve it like the plague.Obviously they want all the profit
Love the video mate thanks so much for making inspirational videos love seeing the team work every time and thanks for making my day every day you post makes my day
What exactly is wrong with aerial cables in gutter? I would argue that you would have more pride in your work making the effort to keep the cable hidden and discrete.
Cables in gutters can potentially create a partial barrier which can trap leaves, silt and lumps of moss preventing free flow of water. If the gutter has standing water then the cables can be submerged and the stuff Sky use is probably not spec'd for immersion. I speak from experience of overflowing blocked gutters 😂😂
@@barrieshepherd7694 I would agree with the partial barrier, as for cables being submerged, I have been carrying out aerial installations for 20 years and cables being in the gutter have never had a problem with water ingress unless the cable is already damaged. Sometimes cables being run in the gutter is all you can do if there are obstacles such as conservatories in the way.
Best team of solar sparks ? Surely that’s a matter of opinion or as my Grandad used to say “ Self praise gathers no moss “ 😂😂😂 Decent install though ☘️
🤔12:15 do you give customers option not to fit them? customer should be able to make informed decision - panels need to have airflow around them from both sides, for highest efficiency.🤔
Brill vid as always. Its nice to see such a decent sized team on the job. Last 2 solar companies Ive worked for put out teams of 2 (1 spark and 1 roofer) for installs of a similar spec to be completed in a single day!
Great film lads, I love a neat and tidy looking job, it settles my ocd. I could not leave that job without cleaning out those gutters, my ocd would not let me. How did you go on with that Jordan??? Did they get cleaned out??? Cheers 👍👍👍
Good video as always. So many people for few kw.. 😄 You are lucky . You have scafold . But you do not use elevator ( it is true that it is not hight). I do this job with my 3 people team , without scafold but with elevator , and climbing equipment & skils . Again , you are lucky. Love your video. Keep it like that.
When we had ours fitted they put an electric winch to get the pvs up. Made it far less precarious. But I guess it depends on the situation. 8.4kw of panels is lovely though! 2kw than I have but there's always room for upgrading!😅
Nice to hear you on Fix Radio today Jordan. I work in a warehouse and none of us are tradespeople, but we all love the station. Would love to see you on there more and, as always, what a bloody good video!! (Not affiliated with fix radio by the way
Great work! Awesome video as well. After the solar is fitted, how would it work between trades to replace the roofing? Not sure it'd be as much of a problem on the ceramic but in NA with shingles I was curious how that all works out or if it's yet to be seen. Cheers!
You only get the maximum output from the panels for 1-2 hours a day and as you said on sunny days, so clipping factor is small. Overclocking allows faster ramp up in the morning, slower ramp down in the afternoon, as well as contributing more on those less sunny days giving you a fatter production curve,
