I hope so. I know I'll always remember working on cars with my grandfather when I was younger. When I tell him what I'm doing now I think he shakes his head and thinks I created a monster. lol
Good to teach him to be a car guy that way later on in life he will spend ALL his money on cars and not beer..................................................wait
You're getting so close! I'm excited for you! I'm pushing hard, hoping to have something to show for my work by this summer, but I'm doubting it. It's been a long time coming for you.
I hope it fires right up!!! Your truck is coming alone too. I thought I was subscribed to you but I've missed a bunch of videos so something happened. Well I'm subscribed again now time to catch up. Don't spend six months on a seat build like I did and you'll be there in no time. lol
No worries, I think it's great when we can all help each other. Your seat build was pretty wicked, but it took forever lol. I got a seat out of a 91 so it's just a simple bench which is all I wanted. It was the back seat of a crew cab so the foam is pristine. Getting ready to blast mine but there's a storm sitting on top of us and I can't get the cab to the shop. After that, paint and hopefully a little assembly.
I can't wait to hear that engine run. I'm waiting to see what it sounds like before I do any exhaust work on mine, virtually the same car. Mine's a 2005 Merc GM. Good job getting your boy involved, we all need to keep the old car hobby alive.~Pat
Pat-413 I'm anxious to hear it run too. I'm hoping it stays somewhat quiet with the cats still on but gives a little rumble to know something is different with this truck.
Engineers have a reason for everything. The reason the passener side exhaust flang was relocated was safety. If that flang leaked hot exhaust, it would be near the fuel filter. If the fuel filter fittings just happened to be leaking, well you can imagine what hot exhaust may do to 85 or 87 octane fuel. Also, all police interceptors had dual exhaust for increased power output and would have a hanger on both sides. Most civilian chassis had a single outlet exhaust and only had hangers on one side.
Looks good! Should sound real nice when it starts up. I wish my exhaust was gonna be that easy to build. I just picked up a 429 for mine and plan on running lake style pipes on my 54. The hard part will be when the lakes are capped running dual exhaust under the truck and figuring out where to weld in the 02 sensor. I plan on running an edlebrock efi. Keep up the good work!
Wow I'm having a hard time even wrapping my head around how you will make that happen. Please make sure I can see a picture of it when you get it done.
Idle Garage that would be cool too but since I had always planned on no hood and fenders I had just bought the cab. Once I get my bed, wheels, and transmission I can lay out everything and get a real vision of how it's gonna look
mark demieville That's going to be cool sounds like a fun build. If I ever get this truck done my next is a similar build. I'd like to slam a cj5 with an open front end like you're doing just to cruise around town in.
