The 3D model of this setup if available on my website: www.undeadparrot.com/simpit-3d-model-star-citizen-dcs/ and I just recently upgraded the setup with 180 degree curved screen, so check that one out too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EfFCBRN1yhk.html
Woah. I'm new to your channel, gotta say well done man. That's an enormous amount of effort and looks really good. You're clearly a very motivated and smart dude. Enjoy the setup!
I happy with my 32" display for now ( the LG 45" coming out next year looks good ) but that 3 display set up look great. I went for the Monstertech desk mounts for my T16000m's but also ordered the plates for Virpil ( one day ) the mouse and keyboard that fit on them, makes it nice and easy to set up, as I havent the wood work shop or the skills lol so I make do with that setup.
That's a really nice build, I'd love to do a similar one, but sadly don't have the space / money. I'm running a single display more typical desktop setup. My main issue with my current setup is finding good places to put my HOTAS (X52) when I use them.
This is a great setup and all but do u stream or anything like that? I was looking for a link to a stream and If you dont do u have any plans on streaming?
Thanks. Currently it's only the RU-vid channel, no plans for streaming. Just wouldn't have time to do it regurarly. Perhaps later I'll try it occasionally and when my children are a bit older and things calm down a bit, I could see about it.
As I am not a Star C or sim user/gaming, I am curious as to what the monitor is and does that is just above your joystick. what are the controlls/buttons/guages displayed on it, and where does that image come from ?
It's just a basic 27" full hd monitor. With SC, I'm using it for GameGlass but it's mostly for show since we don't have any ways to pull information out from the game. It's more useful for flight sims where it can show working gauges and MFDs.
this looks o cool man: especially the displays: have you ever considered a vertical mounted monitor for the centered to create that vertical viewing angle? also how much has this set up cost in the currency you use?
Thanks! That plan sounds actually interesting. Probably wouldn't work with SC for now, but would with DCS. My long term plan is actually creating a curved wide screen, something like 270 degrees and three monitors mapped to it. But that's probably few years in the future so I'll go with this setup now. The gaming PC, controllers etc are in line with high(ish) end rig, though I've bought lots of stuff second hand (like joysticks) or from sales (like displays). The cockpit itself ended up costing around 800 euros for materials, and countless of hours of work.
Dude I saw a moniter which can stick to wallas and curved surfaces. If u use it instead of the 3 moniters u can experience the view without the line between the monitors and it is available in 4k oled and some kind of 4d appearance.
Sounds interesting. What I'm planning is to build a curved 270 degree screen and map three projectors there. But 4k short throw projectors are somewhat pricy, so I'll stick with this for now. :D
@@UndeadParrot dude what i was talking about was build a curved wooden base like the cabin and sticking it with the screen. As it is flexible u can make even 360°😆.Also not that much costly .Samsung's stick to wall moniters are like rtx 4090 it costs aroung 6000 dollars for a minimun length of 2 meters or 3 meters. But LG company is good in case of money.
Small Question: I see your using GameGlass on a large center screen. Is that screen hooked up directly to your main computer or is the monitor hooked up to a tablet or other computer for the app? I could be wrong but I was not aware you can hook up directly to your main computer with that app. I really like your set up, nice and clean look.
In my previous setup, it was hooked up to external computer and I was controlling it with the trackball I had in the middle. But I really didn't use it since I have keybinds for everything on physical buttons. Now it's running on the same computer since I need to have that display connected to my gaming PC for DCS and FS2020 gauges and MFDs. So for now for SC, it's there just as a decoration and the middle display is more useful for other flight sims.
The top display isn't connected to my display so there's the four for single computer. I was OK with Ryzen 7 5800x3D and Radeon RX 6800 XT but I upgraded into Geforce 4090.
@@UndeadParrot wow that’s nice and absolutely necessary for Star Citizen 😅 I’m stuck with a GTX 3070, but still ok for me because I just have one screen 🙃 can you show the usage of your setup and where you setup what keybinds so that it fitted best to you?
@@DanielDuese While this is my previous setup, the controls are quite same still: Controller Setup for my Star Citizen Simulation Cockpit (SimPit) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8kc_9EIFJGc.html
@@DanielDuese I can run Star Citizen on an I5-8600k w/ Geforce GTX 1060. Granted, its not the fastest / smoothest. Newer cards are still too expensive for me sadly.
There are lots of videos with my old cockpit. I'll still have to edit the last episode (nine) in this build series, then it's time for gameplay videos and also an overview video.
In the end, I survived. Had to fight a large snake on my way out but got out. On the hindsight, if it was actually a cable, let's hope it wasn't important.
Thanks. I got the channel monetized quite fast. Naturally for this size channel is usually pennies (except with the 4090 test video, that did a bit better) but hopefully I can one day get some revenue to support my more wild upgrade projects. :D
