Pusher props that are designed to turn CCW to reduce the liklihood of the propeller screw from loosening and possibly coming off. The motor torque keeps the nut tight if using a pusher propeller.
Since making this video I have flown the Bix 3, Many, Many Times and I love it - I always seem to have the FPV rig mounted on it .. I have crashed it and rebuilt it and it flys great - I have had to add counter weights into the tail area to get the C/G right when adding cameras.. but I love it...
Nice ideas, clear description, and good photography. Helpful for my own setup of a Bix3 kit I've had laying around. Do you have any corrective suggestions for the Bix 3's tendancy to tip stall when turning at low speed? Thanks. - Jim
Hi Jim - thank you - I did not realise that my asthma was playing up so much in this video - I have not done any research on the Bix3 tip stall at low speed - I am sure you know most aircraft will tip stall if turning at low speed and indeed some will tip stall even at higher speeds (HobbyKing Lancaster for example) - I have flown my Bix2 and 3 now on and off for over a year and have not experienced a tip stall - they glide very well to the point you can do a nice straight landing approach motor off without any problems at all - I did test the Stall - it did nothing alarming, in fact it just dipped its nose down picked up speed and was flying again - I love going back to my Bix2 and 3 from time to time and find them just relaxing, and great fun flying machines ...
Cover with stickyback plastic or Fablon as called you get light weight off internet I cover all my fomies adds no weight to help it stick use hair dryer.
Hi, I see what you use. a. 2836 motor at 1500kv I wonder what your flight times are Sorry I can't find a motor like that Which one would you recommend I was thinking of a sunsuki 2216 1400kv or 1200 I don't know maybe continue with the stock greetings and thanks
I have a lot of posted videos flying this and always show the battery charge before and after each flight and state the flinging times. Please do check them out, if I recall correctly I get a good 6 to 7 mins with plenty of battery power left..
Shame about the decals. Have you been infected with space bugs? Hope you're fully cured soon. Have you heard about matches860 (John ) ? Also found out yesterday that Steve ( The EnglishManSmokes) had passed away sometime ago.
Yes I found out about Matches last week, I knew about Steve as his son sent me an email when it happened, it was quite a time ago Graham who has also passed away went to the funeral....they would do better not having any decals at all , maybe a sheet of sticky back ones, ......
