As our ageing infrastructure begins to fail in the face of extreme weather events, the Blue Mountains Planetary Health Initiative hosted international asset managers from the Talking Infrastructure Association to ’talk infrastructure’ at the Blue Mountains Planetary Health Precinct on Tuesday 23 April, 2024.
Jeff Roorda, from the Talking Infrastructure Association, is also Director Infrastructure & Project Delivery Services at Blue Mountains City Council. At the time of this talk, Council was in crisis management mode for the road collapse that cut off the Megalong Valley after heavy rains.

I like the point that it is critical that we do not keep replacing outdated infrastructure with 'like for like' after disasters. We need infrastructure that's 'fit for the future'.
