Blue Mountains City Council's Planetary Health Initiative is collaborating with all sectors to accelerate systemic change, recognising that all life is interconnected and that human health is dependent on the health of natural systems. Our Planetary Health Centre and Water Demonstration Site is located at the Planetary Health Precinct & Parklands in Katoomba but we also work bioregionally from the Lower Mountains to Lithgow. We create and share local news and local solutions to strengthen communities, reduce the risk of disaster and restore the health of the planet.
no wonder some scientists call water 'the universal solvent.' It's such an important resource that I take for granted! Like liquid diamond, it is the miracle worker in creating biological life. Thanks Blue Mountains Planetary Health Institute for this video <3 <3 <3
I like the point that it is critical that we do not keep replacing outdated infrastructure with 'like for like' after disasters. We need infrastructure that's 'fit for the future'.
Fantastic idea -- using washing machine water (filtered) to water fruit trees and garden. Natural, easy to do filtering system using pebbles/ rocks. She knows what she's talking about.
What an excellent science curriculum this school has put together! It teaches kids to analyze nature, analyze the biodiversity of plants and animals. Clone this program and the teacher as well! (-:
Andy's comprehensive way of sprinkling black and gray water to keep his acreage wet before bushfires SAVED his house and property. Goes way beyond the technique of sticking a sprinkler on the roof -- as others did-- not saving their properties! Nor waiting for helicopters to dump water on one's house -- often destroying the house itself and not saving the property from fire.
This can be a game changer to enable solar power to be widespread in homes/ businesses -- nickel-rion batteries that last indefinitely-- storing power from solar panels! Let's do it!
