But lets not forget how you can compare the sound to the real one. There is more than just one way. There is the possibility of comparing it to an onboard recoarding, like an onboard video where a camera like a gopro or something with an external microphone is recording the sound. R3E is absolut on spot in this case. There is only little to none difference to many real onbard videos. But you can also sit and listen to the sound with your own ears. (ok not so many people could do that with a gt3 car) but i think ACC is in this case very close. The ?tone color? is in this case imho maybe more realistic. Someome with an helmet on has hears again an other, more muffled sound. But yeah, i realy like the R3E sound. :) Its more what the normal people have the comparison to.

I agree, pc2 is not even in the same league, i'm curious how/if ACC is going to improve the sound during EA, or at release. R3E has amazing sounds indeed, and that goes for most cars, (not driven all of them myself yet). ACC is a very solid 2nd though, if they keep this level, or improve it, for all their future cars in the game then it will be a really good game when talking about sound.

Should be more muffled? Yes, if you compare it to the sound a camera records, which is obviously nothing like what you would hear if you were in the car, since it's much more compressed when recorded and then once again compressed when it's uploaded. Even a cheap stripped out car which is just close to being a racecar doesn't sound muffled at all, trust me. It's loud with plenty of different banging and squeaking noises, not just engine noise (even if it's a small regular engine) which is obviously ridiculously loud when there is no sound dampening, sometimes it's unbearable if you're not used to it, very dramatic. I can't even imagine how loud it is and how many different noises you can hear in a car like the one in this video. I'm not really into games (or sims), I accidentally ran into this and it's impressive how they look, but the one on the left (which you said should be more muffled) is (most likely) closest to what this beast sounds like inside.

@@MyRealName No, with muffled I meant the engine note misses some low end. The car sound from the sim on the right is recorded directly from within the car. It's real samples and this is how it sounds. And come on, the compression of modern algorithms is not so bad that changes the sound so much, this is nothing but a modern myth.

From inside the car, racecars sound way different than from the outside because of the transmission whine etc. Pc2 sounds the worst in that case. And from the outside pc2 sounds more like the Mercedes AMG GT3. The bentley has more of a deep rumble and not that "high pitched" v8. I know it's not high pitched but more than it should be. So in that case acc and raceroom are pretty even and take it definitely from pc2. Yes I've seen that car race in rl

Leon Lange I think AAC almost nails it and sounds great but as soon as I heard that sound @ 2:27 that just put me back trackside. That low rev sound is like nothing else.

What brought GT Sport to this comparison 😂? Is GT Sport that bad to be hated? It's by far the best looking racing game in its genre.

I sincerely believe that raceroom exaggerates the sounds, which confuses what is real or not. For my ACC it wins because it is the most faithful and because they are sounds with personality.

Don't understand what part of PC-2 is flat ? graphics epic, sound brilliant (not the best) handling realsitic and challenging without being boring nor frustrating, cars, tracks super awsome, GT sport is blade, flat and boring indeed

Listen to those Ferrari`s in pCARS 2 and then tell us again the sound is brilliant...

Gt sport is not even a sim lol and even then the sounds are nowhere as good as these games

ACC is sponsored by Blancpain and all car data comes from the real cars. I'm guessing the sounds do too.

That's not assetto corsa lmao it's assetto corsa competizione, the new game currently in early access on steam. They probably had access to all gt3 cars and recorded the sounds themselves

@@leonlange861 yes, absolutely. It's partnered with Blancpain so the actual car data (phsyics, etc) comes from real-life cars.. instead of what someone things they should handle like they model the real thing. Cheers.

Shadows seem to be turned off in this video on ACC, probably because of the early access performance

You may want to dig around in the sound options. PC2 and ACC are the two sims im playing right now. PC2 definetly has the same dynamic range. Just the sounds aren't very detailed or accurate.

I get a lot of people saying this, but, as I say to everyone else, I don't touch the sound options for a reason (leave them default) as this is how the devs wanted the game to sound!

Raceroom actually hits the real sound more correctly. ACC is very close but has some flaws in the mix that doesn't make it sound exactly like the real one (transmission way too low, engine sound too clear, misses some beefy bass, missing drivetrain wobble...). In general I would say ACC lacks behind overall transmission and engine sound mix but is ahead in the sound-effect department (compressor, TC, ABS, suspension etc). So they both deserve the throne but I still don't see R3E kicked from it.

When it comes to fake engine sound definitely yes...

Astro A40..... having a good system doesn't mean it's so that all people have to agree, or that a opinion holds more value. It's an opinion. If you enjoy pc2, just enjoy it, if others don't enjoy that game above one of the other games in this comparison, that's fine too. I also never heard this race car in real live, neither inside or outside, that doesn't mean I (or others) can't enjoy one sound more then another.

@@oAlize racecars don't sound like streetcars. They have a raw sound not a clean sound like pc2. It's probably more of a pleasing sound but most definitely not realistic
