I'll write down some additional information that some of you may missed because comes out of an Italian interview that Marco did a few weeks ago: 1- New propetary engine 2- New graphics, new physics, new AI 3- interviewer said: did we also have a carreer mode in EVO? Marco said: Much more.... 4- New asphalt and weather algorithm 5- vr support day one 6- also out on consoles but no date 7- very long support to the game 8- ACC content and support surely until end of 2024 but no further info on 2025 (so that let's me think about a Q4 2024 release for EVO) 9- Marco said: When we launch the game, you will find out how much we are crazy...

This is the worst way to judge a racing game, we have seen shots like this from Forza and the like for the last 20 years. These are not actual shots while driving in game.

Graphics are honestly overrated tbh I care more about gameplay and immersion. That's what keeps me playing Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix series, NR2003 etc to this day.

I'm excited. There needs to be more racing sims focused on road cars.

The surface shaders look incredible. You can taste the clear coat, feel the alcantara, smell the leather. The hint of factory orange peel. I'm a VR guy, but I think I'm going to have to play on panel for a while when it releases to drink some of this in.

I hope they have an easy to use tool for hosting severs inbuilt. Also good ui like content manager or even like Project cars 2 with a career mode.

As a new Acc player and new wheel owner. I cannot wait. I started off in GT7 and I couldn’t exactly “feel” where the car was or what the tires were doing until I swapped over to ACC. I’m completely blown away by this game and I can’t wait to see what they do with this new game

We didn't see anything impressive or groundbraking so far. People are drooling over fairly standard stuff (nowdays) here. The big question will be optimization. 90% of that will be down to their implementation of GI and reflections plus how aggressively and efficiently they can pull of culling and draw call batching. Unfortunately those are impossible to tell from these images. I'm hopeful that they will do a better job than in ACC. I think there is a good chance this game will actually run better. If you look at the models you can clearly see polygons on curved surfaces, so the producers/managers/techincal artists definitely had some strict rules on poly count.

Holy FUCK! That's right there with GT7 as the best looking game. I hope the game sounds as great as it looks!

1:59 AC1 cars doesn't have engine mesh and u can't open hood so it's not AC1 model.

That Giulia dash is freaking SPOT on. The plastic and leather textures are absolutely perfect.

I hope my 4070 + 5800x3D is enough for this beast in VR otherwise I´ma have to build a new rig for this masterpiece.

Man, I will be so immersed in being inside the car while in VR with this Sim. Really can't wait to enter this world soon. It looks more like GT7 for now, but with the power of PCVR headsets and newer GPUs, we're truly going to reach peak VR graphics and immersion on races.

I hope they optimize the game so that not only millionaires with NASA computers can play it

So AC EVO's lifetime will be 20-30 years... AC 1 is lacking ONLY in tyre model compared to RF2, so hopefully EVO tyres will have all the skipping, bouncing, real rubber feel as RF2 has.

For anyone worried about their pc not being able to run it, Kunos kept in mind to make the game run smoothly as they are using an in house engine.

I believe that is Brunnchen corner on the Nords, or RU-vid corner. The loudspeakers match, but the shed is an "artistic liberty asset" it seems. NORDSCHLEIFE ON LAUNCH, LETS GOOOOO

I'm hoping for good VR performance

The real question is how the game looks when rendering frames. I have seen a lot of racing games with great stills but the actual video resolution not so good. My hope is the Evo overcomes the lackluster graphics that were present in both AC and ACC

Those screenshots look like straight out of Gran Turismo 7, really impressive! It will be interesting to see how well optimised AC EVO will be on launch. Edit. Also I hope they some kind of support for mod developers, Imagine if OG AC mods could be brought on the new game, not having to be built back up from zero.

Until you start driving on the track and notice it's 144P. Atleast that's always been my problem with Assetto.

Looks incredible! As for the new proprietary engine, apparently Kunos couldn't get the tire physics they wanted out of Unreal.. so returning to the in-house engine that looks like it has been really revamped will sport a new physics engine that presumably will allow Kunos to push the physics further than ever! If the game plays (and looks) as well as those screenshots, we are in for a ride-and-a -half! I can't wait!!!!

Dude I got a 4080 super just in time! Haha it legit shows up today. This game showing up and being talked about near release and it being on steam right now was a sign that I made the correct choice haha. You can tell with the paint and the reflections my 4080 super will be pushed to its limits. I'm really wondering now how intensive this game will be. Imagine the type of power you may need for vr lol.

Pretty funny to see people get all hyped up about how ACE is so detailed with the car models now, but yet, GT7 has been doing this since it released. It’s great to see that racing games are finally doing the right thing by making sure the models are as detailed as possible. Hopefully Forza takes notice and goes back to their roots and doesn’t continue this cartoon level of “realism”. Thank GOD they got the wet tracks correct on ACE. I don’t know why so many games struggle with this.

The modelling seems a notch behind Gran Turismo, at same level of Forza Motorsport, no surprise giben the forgiving specs requiriments. But honestly it doesn't matter that much.

Finally a gt7 competitor. Polyphony needs their ass spanked a bit to improve the game

Those talking about pc exploding relax. I play gt7 with great graphics on ps4 slim. Your pc will handle this just fine. Don’t panic cos of graphics

The mods always end up looking better than even Kunos' best work. I'm excited to see what RSS and VRC do with this platform. Also excited to how this engine handles lighting. As good as AC looks, people don't realize how AWFUL it handles light.

Well we shall see about this game. I am not holding my breath over 23 pictures. I will see what reviewers say about EVO and the gameplay when it is released and make my verdict then - and what PC power we are going to need. I know it is listed up on STEAM, but usually those specs are minimum. You people make this game better than sliced bread.

Don't think you can say much from screenshots. iRacing screenshots look a lot better than the actual driving graphics. Same with Forza Motorsport.

I wonder if the increase in fidelity will make it more difficult for modders. Even the very limited information Kunos has released on the graphics and physics functions seem pretty intense!

Yeah, but GT Sport was doing all this back in 2017, on a bloody 2013 console as well.

I would t believe it just yet - renders look always good but remember, Toy Story took hours to render one frame back in a day. Running it at 60fps with RT won’t be easy and sacrifices will have to be made

It looks fantastic but I’m hoping it’s more than just graphics and the same, new approach to optimizations and dynamic realism, damage, livery sharing. GAMEPLAY EXPERIENCES and customizations of interior if possible

My pathetic puter will putt out for AC Evo. Min graphics for me. I just want really good tire physics and really good feeling FFB. I don't give a rat's arse about graphics. Fun is in the physics. Physics is immersion for me, not graphics. Give me at least 80 FPS uninterrupted and I'm all in! I mean, Wreckfest, EA Sports WRC and Forza Motorsports are all fun, but they also feel really shallow in the physics department. I can't wait for AC Evo! I can't wait to go into the car files and do stupid stuff and gain hours of stupid fun! And I can't wait to cleanly race others in AC Evo!

Unbeatable. Not really. It looks like what I'd imagine Project CARS 4 would've looked like if it had been made. Either way, still better than Forza Motorsport.

I would like to remind everybody to keep their expectations low, both AC and ACC took a long time of polishing AFTER release, before they were considered good by community. I also wouldn’t hold my breath for modding right from the start, there were multiple complications mentioned in regards to licensing.

Checked out the images on steam myself.. very impressive however I can help noticing how "orange peeley" all the paint textures are.. far too aggressive texture for clearcoat I'm obviously being picky 😂

The lighting, although fine, seems traditionally rasterized to me. An RT option would be cool for future hardware.

Ofcourse we get the nordschleife in the base game. How would they ever expect to make a worthy evolution of assetto corsa without the nordschleife? In a way they shot themselfs in their own food with such a good game, to then let people wait too long for a good sequel. Which made modders and the community go 'boom' on assetto corsa. Which is why it still delivers. For me such thing is crucial to the game's succes. And they have a lot of pressure on them, not just me but the entire sim community. Everybody wants them to do well. Which is very hard when comparing to v1. If they want to make a game that can even come close to what v1 is offering, they need to go ultra big.

this better not be one of those new 'next gen' games, that has new 'features' like dlss and raytracing and runs at 5fps at native resolution requiring dlss for decent framerate. we need optimized games again. especially given how good assetto corsa 1 with mods can look and run. if they cant beat that performance, dont even bother. especially for VR.

The uphill section on imola containing puddles? something something gravity and a maintained track should not have standing water by the roadside.. unless physics have changed irl, that is? I mean, it looks stunning, but water usually runs down a hill, looking for the lowest point on a track, which is particularly dangerous when you hit this 1 or 2 meter wide layer of water crossing the track at high speed, but that's at the dips of the track. I guess if they would accurately model the water by ways of gravity, we would stop racing in treaturous conditions alltogether ;) Yeah, looking forwards to this title nonetheless, with all the work they put in, they might just give modders even more tools to finish the oppurtunities they missed. (yeah, sorry, modders will always be there to improve on things, unless they get locked out, then this will run a shorter course.

The vehicle models look great, the only issue I have with any of the screen shots is the grass... It looks like they're just using billboard textures, at least for most of it

Not gonna lie im a bit disappointed that multiplayer ranked seems to be missing from the steam description, i really don't care about little details on the cars, they already look great on AC1.

it was a good decision by them to show an oldish car and an H pattern shifter. people like me dont have much interest in modern sports cars, especially electric. old 90's cars with H pattern are so much fun and mostly what i play assetto corsa 1 for.

ACC = competizione AC1 = "regular" AC Gamer muscle told us so !

They really need to get Ilja Jusupov involved, assuming he’s even willing (he makes $50k per month off Patreon alone). With CSP physics, AC is the absolute best combination of FFB/tire model/aero model/suspension kinematics. I don’t care about how good the stitching looks on the wheel (that I’ll turn off anyway in-game).

they basically just went all-out on the use of pbr, im scared about the size of the game since 2k or 4k textures like that take up a lot of space

I don't think it's the best graphics Ive seen in a racing game but it looks good enough and the car models seem authentic where it counts.

Proably the closest i ever seen in car details to gt7, this gets much closer than forza motorsport thats for sure, that game is just so far off with the details.

I just hope the game has an extensive single player like gran turismo has. No pc racing game has come close to that yet
