As a console player, I've ignored the original since it looks very outdated in visuals. But if EVO can improve graphics better than FM and actually get that photo realistic look GT7 does, I'll be happy. As a car enthusiast, I like visuals in racing games. Especially those that try to mimic real life. Of course I'd love some realistic physics too. Only reason I never got ACC is due to being limited to GT cars only. I like having a mix, as well as having all the tracks, and it seems that is what the original AC kind of is. GT7 is great, but I'm annoyed with all the VGT cars and vans and ambulances, or SUV's. 😂 Forza annoys me with the visuals. Everything you mentioned is great as well. I may switch to PC soon.

Don't worry about the visuals. With a decent wheel setup it's amazing. The physics and feedback are better than anything on console.

@@ihateken1 As a car enthusiast, it is hard to not hate on the visuals. Lol. If it was like 2013, I may not care of the current Assetto Corsas graphics. Knowing what we've been spoiled with graphically recently, I expect what I play currently to live up to those expectations. I'm sure it feels great though. But since AC2 releases this year, I might as well wait it out since I still enjoy GT7, especially in VR, and I still play Forza Motorsport on wheel in my Trak Racer rig.

Ac1 was trash. Its unplayable. No good wheel settings. No cars. It honestly was a scam .😂😂

Honestly they just need to have a good base, open it up to mods and the rest will sort itself out. I wish they would make a really good gravel/offroad tire model to complement the tarmac racing. That way it could be a full umbrella type of game with every type of racing under it, circuit, rally, rx, hillclimb, etc

Exactly. The mods already have this but the tire models are not good. I just drove the dirt road nurburgring track mod and its good graphics but the physics are off.

I really hope they make it a full-price title (even on PC). I'm very willing to pay 60-70€, when I keep in mind how much I got out of AC1 for which i paid a few bucks basically! I'd rather pay 70 instead of 35 as you cautiously predicted to keep a developer like them well fed and alive! :)

I have high hopes for it and I think it will be good. The way I see it is that they wouldn't, or can't even, make their new release inferior to ACC. Kunos also has more resources and experience now. If they build on ACC's success in the racing area, have more variety in content and add some GT/Forza type single player content it will be big. My hope is that they also have better official online integration now. And my hottake is that it shouldn't have extensive modding support. It just makes the game harder and more confusing to get a consistent experience. Have AC1 as the mod platform.

I think that Kunos will keep the modding aspect locked during the time frame this is a current project for them. Honestly a studio has to make money to keep feeding the devs that make these new games a reality. I think just like ACC you will see several years of modding locked out and Kunos official paid DLC packages which roll out new cars (hopefully grouped in racing classes and eras) along with additional tracks and content. Hopefully we will see even a better AI than what was in ACC for single player content as well as well as a much VR friendlier game engine than the unreal engine that was used in ACC. Hopefully a 3rd party like Low Fuel Motorsport will do like they did for ACC and bring out different on line ranked racing leagues as I do not think Kunos has an interest in running online racing leagues. I think once Kunos is finished with EVO as a current title then you will see the community modding abilities unlocked and allowed but that will be several years down the road.

With regards to the force feedback I think (or rather hope) ACEvo will deliver us the option to tune it towards AC or ACC, depending on preference. I prefer the cleaner force feedback from ACC, and find all the added effects from AC to make the cars feel "wobbly", for lack of a better description. Others love the AC FFB setup and can't stand ACC. Hopefully Kunos can ensure the additional effects that are transmitted in AC are possible to tune down or turn off :)

This could either go down as the best racing game of all time or the worst. All I can hope is that they implement or allow easy implementation for things like realistic drifting and no hesi/traffic servers as that’s what’s keeping the game alive, unique and fun.

if it's true that Assetto Corsa 2 will be called Assetto Corsa Evo then they have bad PR. because if gamers know that sequence of a game is 1, 2, 3 etc & seeing EVO they would think it's another DLC then most of them would skip it!

I want to see proper multiplayer matchmaking with safety rating and driver rating like with iRacing, ACC, and GT7, not just server hopping. For instance scheduled races with different splits and licenses and stuff. Then it really would be next level

I am happy that Kunos mentioned "Driving" and not Racing. That's what AC is all about. If someone wanna race than stick to ACC, iRacing etc But AC is so much more than that.

I can't see it being bad tbh. Just make it feel slightly more grounded and I'll be happy.

When it comes to cars I am fine with really all models being modified track oriented vehicles with racing mods to fit into realistic racing series and classifications rather than actual street vehicles. But I do hope they cover classes and eras from really Vintage all the way to modern with a wide variety of series/cars included and covered. This may actually be hoe Kunos may grow the game and content is by releasing DLC packages that add in different racing eras and classes over the coming few years therefore growing the games content from its initial offering along with giving the consumer the choice whether to purchase the package being offered. Prime example I am an old gut and really would find 60's era Le Mans and U.S.A. trans am cars and series as what would be a definite must buy DLC for me. But I have absolutely no interest in road/asphalt drifting cars or racing so a package such as that would be attractive to many just not me. If it was done right a DLC covering desert/rally racing cars and trucks is something else I could see being a big DLC package and I may well be interested in purchasing that as well. Kunos and any other studio needs to make money off of the investment in the game. As a gamer I am much more satisfied with games that studios keep growing and keeping my initial investment as something I continue to play will quality DLC rather than games that a new barely improved sequel is released on a yearly basis at full retail game cost.

They have a good blue print with Assetto Corsa and the modded side to it, lets hope they dont mess the chance up!
@billwiley7216

@@Just_Boris I agree, but the elephant in the room these days is licensing and being able to even procure some licenses is not even possible as other gaming studios have exclusive rights due to their deal. This goes for cars and tracks. Remember years ago the "Ruff" Porsche? That was because the game could not use anything related to Porsche because of the lack of licensing, not even a likeness but they got around it with the real life Ruff car licensing modified for racing. Just like off the top of my head if I remember correctly a few years ago the license rights for the Le Mans name and circuit were purchased and as a result no other Game can use that name or circuit in any way in their content. So at times it is things behind the scenes that controls some of what may or may not be included that as consumers we may not be aware of not just the studio not including it by choice.

After the AC Evo release ACC will die quickly, even Kunos doesn't include the ACC content. AC Evo will be moddable like AC and it is only a matter of time when the modders will release a complete GT3, GT2, GT4, Cup and M2 pack. My little community will quickly jump over to AC Evo and will abandoned ACC in only a few weeks. Th eonly reason i can think of why we would stuck to ACC is when AC Evo runs like shit.

Good video, Boris. I wonder if they’ll have to scale up the menus and UI since audience is used to having content manager, and all that comes with that. The game will need to be more than updated cars and tracks to keep the community going to Evo over AC down the line… Interesting to speculate!
@namesii1880
@namesii1880 4 месяца назад
When AC was made I don't think they had actual specialized UI devs or designers lol. Which they do now have so the standard experience should be much better.
@ChubbyCelloCar50
@ChubbyCelloCar50 4 месяца назад
@@namesii1880 I guess I’m wondering if there might be a formal relationship between the modding community and Kunos. To build on Boris’s idea of bringing some of these guys into the fold, why not include a mods tab in the UI of game? It would draw the community from the old to the new, and ensure AC Evo gets a long life like its predecessor.
