Hey, just wondering how big of a difference it makes switching from a T300 to a direct drive setup, as I am planning on doing it in the near future. And also, have you tried the WTS Enjoy 350Z? Good video as always!
It's noticeable but I wouldn't say it's revolutionary like everyone makes it out to be. The rotation speed and higher sustained torque are definitely nice to have, has let me get a little more aggressive on transitions. That said, finding decent settings was a pain where the T300 was more plug and play. The enjoy 350z I believe is made for controllers, drives like crap on a wheel from my experience.
Can I buy your old t300 :) ? ( if you upgrade ) some great vid but each person has own bias - this nascar racer really loves the dd upgrade because going in big circles feels better, another guy said getting t300 to dd is less important than getting to t300. I know nothing personally sorry can’t remember names of RU-vid maybe traxion gg is 8 nm fanatec dd worth it.
@@JankyDrift hehe. All good. Your channel is really cool. Too young for a licence but can’t wait to take my sim skills to irl tracks eventually. Keep up the great content!
Jah-lap-pin-oh! Hahaha I find the quality of pub servers/rando tandos is pretty much dictated by the pack on the server. WDTS can be hit or miss, people on DWG servers are usually ok, Gravy Garage is like babies first sim drift so the driving quality reflects that. Let's run Excite V2 on your server! Have you driven it yet? Its dreamy.
Excite is decent but I'm not a huge fan of low angle cars in this game if I'm honest. Pretty much all of them I've tried feel more difficult than drifting IRL. I do want to incorporate my server into the lives at some point though, I'll let you know I get there.
I’ve recently been deep diving sim setups with the sole purpose of transitioning to RL, I kid you not your channel has been instrumental. I appreciate the content very much! It’s super difficult to find. 🤘🏻.
Haven't tried since the recent update, but thought the original pack was decent. Main call out is that stock steering angle cars unfortunately seem to struggle on this game. It's generally easier to drift a stock angle car in real life than it is to drift a stock angle car in Assetto. That in mind, I don't spend much time with them. Not sure if the original pack was based on Arch physics, but sounds like the new one is. You can check out my review of Arch here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yXBrjUbN68g.html
Thanks for these interesting videos on drifting in a sim vs. real life! I'd be very curious to hear what you think of drifting in BeamNG and in GTA V (with mods to make it more realistic, as suggested in this tutorial ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OoqY-WzNRiU.html ), as compared to Assetto Corsa and real life!
I haven't tried Beam yet, I need to get around to it, but I've heard mixed reviews on the drift physics. When i get around to trying it I'll see about posting a video. GTA5 I've only played the base game, but that one probably isn't going to be realistic at all. There's a reason people mostly drift on Assetto out of the three.
@@JankyDrift I can imagine that BeamNG might simulate many things well, but the nuances of drifting might not be the top priority. Then there is the aspect of realism not being the same as "fun". Then on the other hand, frustration isn't the same as realism. GTA 5 base game is very good to simulate "Hollywood action movie feeling", but not realism. Though it offers other things, like complex environments with traffic. And I suspect that GTA has quite a large community online. I'd definitely watch a video on how close these mods can get it, to the real thing.
Understood on your "it depends on what exactly you're trying to simulate" point. My channel definitely leans more into realism compared to real-life drifting and racing, and not so much comparing from an environmental perspective. I did watch the video you linked and it looked like they weren't getting any sort of significant rotation from the steering wheel, and not sure if there was any force feedback. So again I do doubt GTAs ability to simulate realistic handling physics, but 100% just conjecture on my behalf.
@@JankyDrift Thanks for the reply! The manual transmission mod, also enables force feedback through the wheel, but I can't judge on it's quality. I have no doubt Assetto Corsa is a great sim, and now with the Shutoko Revival, one can experience some city environments with traffic, if one so desires. Anyhow, if you are ever short on video ideas, I'd gladly watch you try out BeamNG and modded GTA, and listen to your commentary on how the experiences compare, in a similar fashion to your comparison of different Drift Car Packs for Assetto Corsa.
