As a math teacher yes I said math…I learned that you want to first engage the audience in my case it was kids with something they might relate to. At the beginning of the year I used to gauge what they were interested in with “About Me” assignments and genuinely listened to conversations I had with them instead of overlooking them or telling them to go sit down. There has to be a level of respect even when it comes to kids. As a 25 year old now I would say I listen to Islamic videos where I can relate to the speaker. Showing emotion is a human characteristic we are not robots that relay information verbatim in a monotone voice. Being a good speaker means you share with the audience who you are and you will find that the audience will reciprocate because they find you relatable. Instead of putting them on a pedestal and thinking to myself “oh he’s on a different level than me” I instead tell myself if he/she was able to shift their lifestyle or accomplish this/that then it’s possible for me too. In education this is called the “growth mindset”. If you can get the audience to believe that they can it will break down their limited belief system. Their mind goes from “Devote muslims go to the Friday prayer every week” to “ I will go to the Friday prayer every week because even if I haven’t been a person devoted to Islam I will start to take small steps to identify as such person”. So this also includes an identity shift as well. For my students they had a hard time identifying as mathematicians or being able to mentally grasp the idea that they are fully capable of grasping the skills just at the age of 12. I would ask them if I can do it why can’t you? And the typical answer was you are smart. Then I would ask them how did I get smart was I born knowing how to solve an equation? They would say obviously no you would have to have studied and practiced. So I asked them what’s stopping you from doing that. Nothing. It’s all in a days work you just have to want it bad enough. Mathmatical acumen = increased likelihood of becoming financially secure as an adult. Pray 5 times a day = success in every facet of your life essentially through Allah subhanhu wa taalah whether it’s in this world or the hereafter.

Most of the time, a man will marry more than once if the wife is not being a good wife. Because a man knows marriage is not easy, he will not engage with someone else when he has one already. So if women are best, as Islam tells that a man has the right to be treated with the best behaviour of his, with their husbands, a husband will not think to get married more than once.

32:00 nah wdym you surprise your first wife with the second one??? Maybe in some cultures but not in the west. With all due respect this is bad advise. If you know you will likely want more than one wife you have to bring it up before marrying the first one because it is a big cause for divorce and family drama in the west. There are very few women and families in the west that would not see this as betrayal. Most women today grow up with the western Christian culture of only one wife. If you do not inform her and her family before marriage of the possibility of multiple wives in the future you are setting her up. She will feel like she has been cheated on and lied to. This is inconsiderate and unwise. You will ruin one home in your effort to make another. Be clear but not abrasive and let her and her family decide if this is something they can handle and still want. Don't hide your desires or intentions but yes the sheikh is right in not bringing it up all the time.
