Good to see you again man. I do think about a power meter but chicken out because of the expense. Your vlog does show the benefits in investing in a power meter.
The main inherent design advantage of the Vector 3 is the larger cleat platform. That Assioma pod seems to be "ok" because the platform is narrower - as far as I can tell. That doesn't matter to everyone but it can be a factor. The main disadvantage of the Vector 3 is the really bad battery carriage, both in the "cap" and the PCB inside the unit at the end of the axle. The cap has been revised but Garmin has not done enough to undo the damage done to early buyers. I don't know what will happen over time with the PCB but I modified mine to support the weak PCB battery terminal. Another Vector 3 advantage is the Cycling Dynamics toque analysis (data recording) paradigm. I've been hearing that Assioma will implement this but nobody has confirmed it. In theory, Garmin has better support because it has more service centers all around the world. In reality you're better of planning on doing all of your own repairs. The key question for me is whether you can get the replacement parts over the expected life cycle of the pedals. Saving a few hundred dollars as a side benefit is always nice, I have to admit. A potential long term disadvantage of the Assioma isn't just "parts" but what happens if the replacements for the rechargeable batteries can't be acquired. Fore all of those reasons I went with Vector 3 last year. However, I'm thinking of trying out a pair of Assiomas for my "2 days per week" road bike.
Indonesia America thanks for the comment. Vector 3 and Assioma both use a variation on the Look Keo cleat, so I don’t think there is a difference in platform size. Cycling Dynamics is promised for the Assioma... no sign of it yet though. I’m not sure how useful / actionable Cycling Dynamics actually is. I’ll put up a follow up video once it arrives.
@@jwilly7032 Cycling Dynamics is available, depends on your head unit. I have a Garmin Edge 1000, Favero say they are waiting on Garmin to provide what they need. The 1030 has CD.
