I actually started calling my ADHD and Autism, Evan and Katelyn now because Katelyn's need for organisation and control is my Autism, and Evan's impulsive, flighty thoughts, chaos energy is my ADHD.

I am on both those spectrums, and I would say it contributes to my appreciation of them, AND I think it's important we don't offer that as armchair diagnosis of them, because we super can't. (I haven't watched all their content, so correct me if they have diagnosis that they have openly shared!)

as someone with ADHD, i had this exact thought about evan potentially having ADHD too! i think getting tested for ADHD is honestly a great thing because having a diagnosis and a starting point really helps people figure out how to combat and reduce things like brain fog

Me too actually. During my pregnancy I was prone to panic attacks and sometimes watching TV or RU-vid was too overwhelming, but I found I could still watch Evan and Katelyn

I am the same way. I've been very depressed and anxious since the pandemic started, and I look for soothing people to watch. Evan and Katelyn are definitely some of those people. I suffer from Generalized Anxiety Disorder (G.A.D.) and unfortunately panic attacks are part of my regular life. I'm so glad people like them are around to help me. Not to put too much pressure on them, you know? I dont want to be a burden. I just appreciate them for them. Even if they're flustered over a mistake, they bring a calm energy that I appreciate.

Can I just say, you guys feel like my mentors when it comes to developing my own relationship with my partner (we also started as best friends, for about 5 years before we started dating). You guys work so well as a team and genuinely love being with each other, learning with each other, and are really good communicators. Thank you guys for making this podcast, it feels like you guys are my big sis/brother helping me grow too 😸

Based on the gaming channel, the 'Evan is impulsive' question seems applicable. Watching MineCraft, Evan is off and running off on an idea, Katelyn gets involved but at times she has to drag his idea out of him.

Honestly, being friends with your spouse is key to a successful relationship. Cooperative group dynamics between friends too. Otherwise it creates conflict that 100% can't be resolved without resentment occurring, expressed or not. If one doesn't like the others friends there is going to be buried resentment. I've never understood people that marry people, barring cultural considerations, that they aren't friends with. Chemistry can only carry you so far in a relationship.

100% agree! I don’t get how you can have a long term relationship and NOT be friends. Contrary to what many seem to think/expect that strong passion/romance you feel at the beginning of a relationship 24/7 does not last continuously. It wanes into a comfortable type of love with only times of passion/romance so you also just have to feel comfortable hanging out & enjoying each other’s company. I think it’s at that point where many couples’ relationships fall apart. And then they move on to a new relationship where that passion/romance stage begins again or they end up cheating to find those feelings again. Don’t get me wrong! You should always try to do little things to keep the romance alive. But it’s not the same as in the start of a relationship/marriage. That’s why they call the first few years of a marriage the “honeymoon phase”. It’s just sad that so many marriages now don’t last past that phase. 😕 We also have in our current culture the idea that if a friendship existed prior to the relationship then that friendship is more important...even if the friend doesn’t like/get along with the significant other & causes issues. Once you commit to a serious longterm relationship then NO ONE should be “more important” than that person & your relationship. Friends or even family that try to constantly come between you or talk bad about your significant other need to be either told to stop, distanced from or dropped. Which is different than family/friends warning you about someone. I don’t know...I’ve never understood the whole “bros before...well women” & the similar expression for females. Or “friends are forever but husbands/wives come and go” which REALLY should be the other way around! I don’t know how we have become so backwards concerning relationships. 😕

Although it's easier said than done to abandon long standing friendships and I don't think doing so can occur without some resentment forming for the person losing a friend, and it definitely has to be a unanimous decision, but people trying to constantly sabotage your relationship isn't healthy either. Life is complicated. 😂

I assume you two are happier than you could have imagined in your relationship, but I also assume sometimes Evan is a little over the top. Mainly because Katelyn occasionally gives him a look that I've admittedly gotten a lot, and my friends SOs have given to them, whenever we get a little bit too goofy lol, and the look is a manifestation of "ok I get the excitement but let's dial it back"

I would highly recommend Heavy Rain. My partner and I divided up roles since there are 4 different perspectives to the same story. It is a murder/kidnapping mystery RPG game. It's fairly short too, only took us 3 gaming sessions to finish it.

I use to work with my husband and we were together 24/7. Because we had complimentary skills, it strengthened our partnership and led to more respect and trust in each other on a personal level. However, working together 24/7 only works for a specific type of couple.

Yeah I also started uploading videos I already had on my computer and now I started to earn money with it :-) Yes I am working 70 plus hours a week (40 hours normal job) to make my dream come true and it is amazing 👍🏽 to make my passion my job, amazing 😊🤯

Just a question...but do your friends ever just assume that bc they told your significant other something you know it too? Me & my husband get this a lot. I mean yea...if you tell one of us something there is a likely possibility we MAY tell the other as we share freely & don’t keep secrets. But we don’t immediately tell each other every little thing someone tells us! Just wondering as we don’t know any other “we” couples in person.

I feel like assumptions are very much self-reflection, even if people don't always notice. Sometimes not, but if you're used to things going a certain way in your life and those around you, you may interpret others that way, even though they don't at all think of it that way.

I know that Evan and Katelyn have a lot on their plate as it is, however, I think that they should make a “cooking with e&k” channel so it forces them to cook more and that’s content I’d enjoy seeing from them.
