The Fated Four Astalos: Known as the "Thunder Wyvern," Astalos can charge itself with electricity from the furious movements of its wings, tail and crest. In its charged state, the membrane in its wings take an a beautiful glow that only barely offsets the terrible nature of this monster. Gammoth: Found in the most frigid regions of the world, Gammoths are behemoths with massive tusk. Though they are herbivores, when provoked they will leverage their enormous weight and trunks to crush a threat. They can also shatter the snow covering their legs to damage nearby foes. Mizutsune: A specially evolved Leviathan with a sleek, lithe body, Mizutsune can secrete a peculiar fluid that covers its foes in immobilizing bubbles. Once its foe's movement is impaired, it closes in with spry, dance-like movements. Glavenus: A brute wyvern that can bring its mighty tail down on foes like a massive sword, decimating them in an explosion of flames created from the volatile components found in its scales. If its tail dulls from accumulated soot, a Glavenus will use its fangs to resharpen it.
The mitszune ecology make it out to be a a non-violent kind of monster. It spooked the felyne off with a tad of intimidation but had no intention of actually wanting to attack them. And it looked more like playing around when it was fighting the zinogre. It launched bubbles but otherwise just kept running in circles around it. It actually seems like a monster that prefers defending itself in ways that won't harm it's attacker.
Gammoth is probably my favorite of the Fated Four. It's the first Fanged Beast that isn't a monkey or a bear, and it's definitely the most imposing of the lot, assuming you don't know just how much of a terror Rajang is. This makes Elderfrost Gammoth, my favorite of the Deviants. Also, fun fact - Gammoths have an instinctive hatred of Tigrex, and will attack them on sight. Why? Because one of Tigrex's favorite meals may not be Popo, but Gammoth calves. Some have speculated that the embodiment of absolute power evolved to hunt the babies of the mighty mammoth, not the Popo.
Young gammoth and our mothers hang out with packs of Popo, so they consequently become targets of the Tigrex. so the Gammoth that survive to adulthood grow up and kill any Tigrex they see, which should be pretty easy for them. I don't know why this dislike doesn't extend to monsters like Barioth and Great Baggi since those also hunt Popos, maybe they're fearful or smart enough to avoid any pack that has a Gammoth around.
wait i too have read the artbook and can contribute to this great thread gammoths share this trait with its real world inspiration the woolly mammoth as they would do the exact same to young sumilodons in the wild!!!
@@HagdoBr The funny thing is that gammoth calves are completely white, the reason for this is to camouflage themselves in the snow in case they get away from their mother and there is a predator lurking nearby.
Man, imagine they do put Gammoth and Tigrex in the same game, the turf war would be AMAZING to see. The two would size each up, Tigrex takes a bite out of Gammoth, but Gammoth grabs it with her trunk and just BRUTALLY slams Tigrex down over and over again and tosses it like trash. Just like in the cutscene.
I like the idea that these cutscenes lead into one another, like mitzusune is sleeping all afternoon into night time after the palicos come by then rolls around night and they get zinogre disturbing them
Honestly it wouldn’t take too long either. Just reuse the World version of Glavenus, with retextured attacks. And then rework Gammoth to modern graphics, maybe give her new attacks so she isn’t as big of a pushover. With the size of the Capcom team, might take two, three weeks tops.
Since Sunbreak has quests where you can hunt *four* monsters, it would be amazing if we could get a quest in the Arena where we hunt all members of the Fated Four. Capcom could even give the quest a name such as *A Fated reunion of Four.*
I think my favorite is the Gammoth. I do love Woolly Mammoths and seeing the Gammoth is amazing. It's like a full armored mammoth with huge armored tusks, and bone plated head and ears.
@LAMAR DAVIS yeah but they should change his classification. If he never flies then he should no longer fit under the flying wyvern category since he doesn't fly. That goes for Nargacuga as well my all-time favorite monster. Heck at least have them fly to change zones, ANYTHING.
@YoujiTube so then there needs to be a change in classification. Because in genu Narga and Tigrex would fly to change zones which never happens unless they are in a pitfall trap. It's a lack of consistency for me, especially considering Nargacuga is my all-time favorite monster in the series.
Tigrex Is in Feet wyvern suborder of flying wyvern And that suborder is exel in land hunting or combat, Tigrex was one of the oldest Representative of that suborder
0:31 Astolus: HEY THATS MY FOOD Bird raptor thing: what oh sorry man Astolus: NAH SORRY AINT GONNA CUT IT Bird raptor: hey bro wait Astolus: COME HERE Bird raptor: NO AHHHHHHHH AHHH Ah-
Yo, old video game animations were waaaayyyy far more detailed and developed than todays animations. Like this stuff looks like they CGI'd it movie style.
It's mostly because these are like 80% of the cutscenes for the entire game of GU It would take an insane amount of dev time for them to produce this quality for all the cutscenes in WorldBorne or RiseBreak
Hoping for gammoth to make it's return too... As a PlayStation player I've only encountered Glavenus from World/Iceborne and Astalos and Mizutsune on Rise/Sunbreak... They are so awesome to fight. Nintendo versions always have better looking monsters. So glad Sunbreak got ported over to PS5
I think there is many reasons. -The engine is OLD, like, VERY OLD. -Since MH found his popularity in portable systems than in classic consoles, the formule of the old games could be difficult to adapt to pc. -They wanted to keep it special, as a goodbye for the old MH.
@@cruselove for. Mhgu there is already yuzu for switch emulation. For mhxx (japanese version of mhgu) it is available in citra which is the emulator for 3ds.
The Fated Four : - Badass Electric Wyvern - Badass Snow Mammoth - Soap that makes bubble - Badass Fire Dinosaur with a blade as tail (Anjanath but (way) cooler) And yet they chose the Soap to put in Monster Hunter Rise... WHY ??
