In tournaments like these where everyone is super coordinated and sticks together maggie is actually hidden meta If you analyze everyone in this game ( even in some pro plays ) everyone is pretty much sitting on a tight cover and sticks together alot Once they get drilled they have to either tank the drill and use their heals or leave the cover or reposition a bit and they will expose themselves to enemies in the process
@@weebman9762 that's only the pretty much good aspect of it. She is bad in rotations, that ult of hers is a double edge sword and other than the drill and her passive to highlight enemies, she doesn't bring any contribution to the table. But by all means if a new meta is found here cuz of astel then I'm all for it. There's always cases of people using offmeta champs to create a meta, just like valk back then
@@-lufon-8140 i mean to be fair thats why you need teammates They bring something you cant bring, in this case rotation tool like wraith, path, valk, etc. ( theres a valk on their team ) They also gave up that bloodhound because no need scans to push if they are the ones to walk on ur crosshair

It's like picking octane but making sure you never use his ult, honestly the only reasons why octane gets picked in tourneys is his fast ult percentage for the rotations and escapability, as well as buffs in patches

I not playing Apex and I can tell that it requires skill and experience to use that drill efficiently. Astel is able to predict where the enemy might hide or lure them so that the enemy can only escape on one side. This is very impressive (at least for me as a non Apex player)
@@zir456 its bad character cuz for meta player who play ranked and casual always move and less camping from start until last ring, but for tourney when lot player mostly play safe (taking house/building, etc) for get nice position and ranking this GOOD for "skill player"

In coordinated tournaments like this maggie drill is actually hidden meta Unlike ranked games where everyone is just aimlessly running around looking for kills or to 3rd party to get LPs, they can play and will play passively and sit on a tight cover with ur teammates near you And maggie can drill their cover and they have to reposition a bit and possibly expose themselves in process or they can just tank the drill and die pretty much And have I mentioned the drill has literally no counterplay available
I don't play Apex but yeah that was how it felt for me from what I see… Coordinated teams are taking safe houses, but that just makes it easier to target them with the drill. Like a bug spray to a roach's nest, they're forced to either flee or die in it. Gonna get poor with their decreasing stock of heals. The drill is unlimited in amount too isn't it? He can't run out of it unlike grenades n stuff
Mad Maggie is still a gimmick in comp play at best. If you see Astel's team pov you would know how much their team struggle with Mad Maggie due to Mad Maggie 0 utility for the team. Mondo even at one point suggest Astel to mispick Wraith. Mad Maggie is only good in very specific situations, and in those situations Wraith or Valk could be even better than Mad Maggie
This season of vsaikyo shibuharu has yet created another grand epic war fantasy and he has awarded the main villain role to astel. and mondo is astel’s even more evil father, wwwww

Astel more or less already achieved his win-con: drill everybody else- doesn't matter how the actual tournament plays out now, he's morally already won. Also just peak shitlord energy from all of them: X: "Stop it with the drills! It's so annoying. Also drill Y's team more" Astel: "I already am" X: "Nice, good work" So much more wholesome than I expect from competitive games
To be fair, Pakael's team bullied Atel's a lot, so it's only fair he goes wild on the drills. I hope he drills a lot of people on the tournament day. Any complaints about the drill can go to ShibuHal anyways, since it was his idea lol
I don't play any FPS let alone Apex, but the sound effect that Drill gun makes when it's fired sounds SOOOO satisfying. As a fighting game player I don't think I've heard any move with sound effects as crisp as that drill gun.

Im thinking wouldnt Crypto be good with Maggie? Crypto can give visual to Maggie's harassment and initiate with EMP as Maggie rushes down with the ball.
perfect place for a maggie, a tournament where no one would go and rush people just for the hell of it. Confined space, and just out in the open are both dangerous.
In case people wonder whats so bad about Maggie. Her drills are extra annoying in customs because people dont have a ton of cells or battery because the priority isnt looting its getting in the circle. Only 2 teams have loba who can deal with the constant chip damage
yes, you usually dont see the whole lobby taking spots in the circle in pubs. In pubst they are more likely to play agressive in contrast to tourneys. That's why Maggie becomes more relevant
@@moderndayvampire1469 Maggie can ez destroy their pylon which is waste their utimate just get another pylon. Also even your pylon surivied you give Maggie to farm evo shield which is disadvantage when you only have blue and white
for meta perspective Astel be drilling everyone is super nice too see, too many camper pex (well it's meta that's why Respawn nerf Caustic and don't want to buff Watson) but still too many Crypto/Gib combo while it's already addressed that Maggie kit quite underperforming for meta pick, it's just breath of fresh air on Watson/Crypto/Gib meta previous season, hope she got more tweak on her kit tbh
