I’m white, 63 from the humid Midwest. My first asthma attack was 6 months old. After 7 years of sickness drs told my parents to move west because the humidity was literally killing me!
Why be divisive? Let's fix the socioeconomic issues while studying the ethnic differences. The genetic issue does not entirely have a profit motive in my view as a health care provider and researcher (I also happen to be a person of color). 1. Medicine and health care do have internal individualized components. 2. Gene expression variability could account for the "not enough time for evolution...." argument. 3. Research on advanced biological asthma drugs are mostly done on white populations. If you think that's inadequate, then consider why. That's the reasoning behind what the scientist you're saying is profit motivated is trying to prove; at least that's my take on his presentations when I see them.
