Lots of anniversary happenend and were celebrated during the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed. But the central feature of the 2019 edition (the huge sculpture in front of the Goodwood's House) was dedicated to Aston Martin and their 70-years motorsport history on the estate. In fact, in 1949 the Gaydon manufacturer first raced at Goodwood Circuit. 2019 also marked 60 years since Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby took their legendary DBR1 racers to a historic one-two finish at Le Mans.
Most of the current Aston Martin road cars were there together with many of the motorsport icons of the brand. Honestly I was slighlty disappointed about the absence of cars like the victorious 2017 V8 Vantage GTE, the Group-C prototype AMR1 or the Lola-Aston DBR1-2 LMP1, but yeah I can understand most of the cars of the Aston Martin batch were all about the history at the Goodwood Motor Circuit than an actual brand celebration.
