A break from the spring canal series this week sees me heading back to Aston Park Fisheries with the bandits for round 2 of the club league.
Match fishing can be cruel at times and the first round held at Lindholme Loco put me down near the bottom of the leader board after failing to catch any carp and putting just 11lb 1oz of skimmers on the scales.
With my commercial mojo at an all time low I needed a good session and, after a week of settled weather the hope was that I could turn things around on Bills Lake and get in the frame.
The plan was to go fishing with micros and expander pellets across and loose feed a maggot line short, start on the deck an then hopefully catch shallow. Later on in the match, a margin line would be fed with groundbait and dead reds to look for a lump or two.
