All I could think of was the two of you sitting in that room late on a winters night some time next year. Darling...aren't you glad we near killed ourselves putting in all that insulation. Mmmmm so cosy and warm. No big heating bills, soundproof. Darling...you are so right, weren't we the smart ones. All the best to you and your family.
You could polish those old and beautiful pieces of wood to make 1908 house coasters, book ends, bread boards, charcuterie boards….the possibilities are endless! Illia can make them in his awesome man cave/ wood shop!
I admire how hard you both are working to fix up your farm buildings. Your videos show all your viewers as you are doing the work. The cat, such a comical addition in the videos. She does inspect each thing you do even her careful walk down the ladder. I wish you continued success with this project. From the state of Wisconsin, in USA.
Illia has gotten so good at bricks and mortar. Anneke has gotten so good at coming down the ladder stairs. Marina is so good at everything. Amazing job this week, very fun to watch.
I’m SO glad you’re concerned about your back. I’m older and have been thinking about all that you’re doing to to your body. Some of it is healthy, but some isn’t. The effort put into adjusting your equipment, your tools to suit your body is going to pay off. What you’re doing is amazing!
Your insulating videos should be used in ‘ How To Install Your Hemp Insulation’ advertising. You do it very well ,and we can easily see how it works . Great strides are being taken just now , and it must feel good to get the blocks inside.
Wow! Level floor, clean, window sorted, insulated. And I was thinking back to uneven floors and the mad (but necessary) wheelbarrows full of chipped off plaster from upstairs just tipped down the stairs! You, and The Farm have come a long way. I'm sure the farm's old bones are loving the attention and feeling the love you are pouring into it. Very well done to you both.
Guys, I have never seen such meticulous and thorough renovation with reuse of bricks and other building materials stacked and sorted so organised. Your building space cleaned. The quality of your work is so high. I envy in the far future the buyer of your house. That family buys a gem. I hope you can enjoy the house first for many years in good health and happiness
What a lot of work, but it so rewarding getting a room done, and cleaned. Bolero is one of my favorite pieces of music. Anneke go up the stairs with one gait and down the stairs with another gait.
Illia's sound effects should really be trademarked and copyrighted lol. He's always so excited and full of energy while working on the farm. I work for 9 hours and just want to play with my kids and go to sleep after a workday. Great job guys, you both have inspired many a lazy souls to get some small projects done around the house (makes the wifey happy) lol.
Marina and Illia, congratulations on finishing another room - what a major accomplishment! Seeing you clean everything up afterwards was like putting a period at the end of a sentence.
Thank you! I am probably just imagining this (because we are missing few windows on the ground floor), but I already feel warmer and cosier in the rooms 😀
@@DeHoeveOldBelgianFarm You are not imagining it - the room is losing less heat because of the new insulation and adding the windows will just improve heat retention.
Getting the insulation in the second room looks like it went a lot easier. And the long night of getting all the pallets of insulation blocks broken down and moved to the second floor is time consuming but that forklift helped so much from having to walk up and down the stairs. Keep up the great work! Love your progress!
Unbelievable, that we are almost approaching episode 100 !!!! 😳 So much work done... and still so much more to do. But we enjoy the progress and the results. I can't wait to finally see the transformation of the first rooms from a messy construction site to a clean and cozy living area.
#:10 : is that the neighbour helping out? 'Better a good neighbour than a faraway friend'. Or the guy coming with the forklift truck going above his call.
I really enjoy your videos. Each time you post another I marvel at the hard work you both contribute to recreate your farmhouse. Even the amount of research is amazing to achieve just what you want. Of course Illia-‘s commitment to safety is constantly demonstrated, especially when he climbs on the roof. 😅
LOVE SEEING THE CLOUDS AND FIELDS. THANK YOU SO MUCH! plus your hard word is admired by me, and Anneke. s mssterpiece in the making! Much love, Annmarie
It struck me funny what the closed caption thinks of some of the background noises. Sometimes it comes across as applause, sometimes as laughter, and today, it thought the music was "foreign music". ???
The clouds are beautiful, like you could reach up and touch them. "Bolero" - good music to hear while working. Illia, carpenter, Mason, electrician, plumber, landscaper, Husband and Father.....
Hi from Puerto Rico, a little island in the Caribbean. Very impressed on the work you are doing, so different from the type of construction we do. Wish you the best on the renovation. Ilia is the greatest, the cat inspector makes me laugh! Can wait to see the finish project. Thanks for sharing.
Great work guys! I love your channel. Thanks for posting. You guys need to get a room finished so you will have someplace to hang your RU-vid 100K subscribers plaque! It's getting close
That was so nice Illia and Mariana you did a fine job on that room I enjoyed it and all the hard work you put into it I never miss a video and always can't wait for the next one thank you for sharing and your time.
Speedy Illia was at work today, lol, you got a lot done for sure, and of course wifey was left with all the clean up. I feel bad for you though, it looks like very tedious work 🤗
Since I didn't see you installing any power receptacles, am I assuming you will not have any in the walls bordering the outside? Great work all the same. Thumbs Up!
The huge amount of work that has been done is showing. Is that beautiful door with the transom made of wood? On my IPad it looks as though a fine grained reddish colored wood was used. Your doors and windows are so gorgeous. They are going to be so impressive in the finished house. Watching all the two of you have done from the beginning has been so much fun. I did a bit of renovation in my younger years so it has felt as though I was right there. This is without doubt due to the great video work. Do the skies really feel that low? With all respect,Norma
Gosh , you just get better and better at working xxx time for another beer soon I think x much love for you all from the UK ❤️ Hope all your Ukraine friends and family are ok 💛💙
wouldn't it be an idea to invite viewers to help you with this project for a day for free? I see that in other RU-vid videos as well. Viewers also like that, a look behind the scenes. So much work to do and know, many hands make light work. 🙂
Lots accomplished with insulation! Love the music you use. With chipping brick, honing hemp blocks to fit odd spaces please consider wearing breathing/respirator mask and safety glasses or shield. Three busy, busy days! Glad you had some helpers moving pallets inside upstairs. Pshew!!💪💪💪💯👍❤️
I love these guys but those hemp blocks are going to cause the exterior brick work to deteriorate fast. With heavy insulation, the exterior brick wall will experience a much greater freezing and thawing cycle. The bricks stay wetter, longer because they are colder longer. That's one of the reasons old brick walls usually face with lime wash exterior or plaster and lath board interior. It allows the brick walls to breathe. Great channel, great people, I hope I'm wrong.
You both probably go home so tired and say “God we are so tired are we ever going to finish?” But each time you return to the house you are so proud of what you both have accomplished. It will be worth it. Great job!
Interesting to see the methods in Belgium versus DIYers in US/Canada. I assume the electrical will be surface mount conduit when you get around to that? Some sort of plaster over the hemp blocks?
You both work so hard that I get tired just watching you. Keep it up. You'll be done some day. I want to see it when finished. I enjoy your work ethic and the progress you make on each video. Well done.!!!!
Hoping all the success in your endeavors to get your historical farmhouse back into shape and ready to make your family’s memories memorable with more to come!!!
Great music to work by, Illia! You have really worked out an efficient method for installing the insulation. It will be interesting to watch the next step. Cleanup, of course, is always critical before proceeding👍🏻🥰
Illia you are making such good progress. Cannot wait to see a painted wall. Have you designated how this room will be used? See you next week. Take care.
