Joss is a terrible person. But as a non-Marvel comics reader. My goodness. This comic got me. Joss is a very good writer. His character work is incredible. Like the stuff that he did in Buffy,Angel,Firefly & Dollhouse. The character work in them is incredible.
Yeah I tried to focus more on the content of the book rather than the reputation of the creator. Definitely lots of badass character moments to be found in here
Probably an unpopular opinion. But seeing the art from your video, I think Cassaday is great at drawing people but unless it is an action scene, the compositions look horrible with the backgrounds looking flat, boring, non-descript and often just strait up being skipped in favour for a blank wall, sky or something else that is just a plain wash of colour. These panels seem incredibly flat and boring. Also looks like Cassaday does some awful mens hair, though does really nice womens and beast's hair. Maybe this is more of a bad at short hair great at long and clumpy hair. I think overall it for me it looks like there is a lot of extreme close ups and floating heads.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who felt the art was off. I kinda felt like the odd one out with my opinion 😋 You bring up a lot of interesting points, I hadn’t noticed the blank backgrounds and frequent use of close-ups before, but you’re totally right, maybe that’s why a lot of the panels felt really dead and uninteresting to me
