The Cessna Citation M2 is the latest member of CitationJet/CJ series (Model 525). Launched in September 2011, it is based on the then out-of-production CJ1 variant and features a new cabin layout and a more efficient FJ44 version. The initial M2 prototype first flew on 9 March 2012. Citation M2 are powered by improved FJ44-1AP-21 turbofans offering 10 to 15% more cruise thrust and up to 5% more hot-and-high thrust, and are equipped with modern Garmin G3000 avionics replacing Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21. Compared to the CJ1+, it climbs more quickly, offers a more comfortable cabin and is faster by 22 kn (41 km/h) at FL 410. At high-speed cruise, it can fly one pilot and four passengers over 1,150 nmi (2,130 km). The 250th M2 was delivered on June 15, 2020.

Lancé en septembre 2011, il est basé sur le CJ1 alors hors de production et présente une nouvelle disposition de la cabine et une version du FJ44 plus efficace. Le prototype initial du M2 a volé pour la première fois le 9 mars 2012. Les Citation M2 sont équipés de turboréacteurs FJ44-1AP-21 améliorés offrant une poussée de croisière de 10 à 15% supérieure et jusqu'à 5% de poussée en plus par temps chaud et terrain élévé. L'avionique G3000 remplace le Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21. Par rapport au CJ1+, il monte plus vite, offre une cabine plus confortable et est plus rapide de 22 nœuds (41 km / h) au FL 410. En croisière, avec un pilote et quatre passagers, il peut parcourir 1150 nautiques (2130 km). Le 250th M2 a été livré le 15 juin 2020.
