Its funny that Spider said he doesnt understand Orks, when he actually played his army correctly. Just smash your head against a wall and do your thing. Which is gettin' stuck in and smackin' some 'umies!
@@aglumm9469 I did not say that and you know it. Orks dont require zero skill to play, but they are one of the simplest and easiest armies to pick up. You still have to choose your WAAAGH moment after all. They are right after World Eaters on the simplicity scale.
@@Obsidianen Other guy deleted his comment but I agree with you. Orks play style is simple, but I think you do need a level of skill to be good with them
This was a great game to watch. Between 2 deserving players. However it shows a big floor of 9th ed. The game was desided in the first dice roll. As soon as spider won first turn he had a 99.9% chance of winning. I hope that 10th is more balanced.
I'd like to see a system that takes a leaf out of the Apocalypse ruleset, whereby its still a "You Go, I Go" turn cycle, but all shooting and attacks etc are done effectively simultaneously, with wounds dealt being tracked and models being removed at the end of the battle round. An "initiative" keyword could be used to allow certain units to deal their wounds immediately (particularly in close combat). I've trialled playing this way with some friends and it worked surprisingly well, and with a little refinement itcould really be a (literal) game changer.
Just want to say huge thank you to the Tabletop Tactics team for the 9th (/8th ruleset) content you've delivered over the years. 5 or so years ago, after a lengthy 40k hiatus from the start of 6th through almost all of 7th, I bought the 8th edition rulebook after hearing some stories about how good it was. I started playing in early 2nd, but this was such a shift from 5th/6th, I felt lost with what tactics worked and what didn't. I started searching for battle reports on YT to see some games before heading down to the store. I had no idea what a treat I was in store for finding this channel. I watched probably 20 videos that first week, and not only felt like I got a solid foundation for the game, but found a truly fun group to watch and one that I resonate with. Since then, I've played well over 150 games between 8th and 9th (with almost 100 in 9th alone), and eventually my Saturday mornings were met with kid-like anticipation waiting for the next battle report from TT. I also watched some massive growth and change happen to this motley crew. Bone leaving was a sad day, but Bard and Jinx have been great editions. The filming and editing have become top notch in the mini gaming channel scene. The new studio looks amazing. Can't wait to see more of it. With that being said, I'll watch your 10th games with some curiosity. My local group is *very* disappointed the 9th books are being retired, and are unsure how this edition is shaping up with some of the previews we've seen. But I know you guys will represent it well, and maybe sooth the burn of change.
As much as I would love for the orks to win. I think it would be sweet if James could topple the spiders uncanny lucky dice rolling! Can't wait to see what happens in this classic matchup.
This was a really fun league and final! It's always great seeing people have fun and playing competetively at the same time. Though I have to say it's kinda sad, that the Plasmacutioner is so effective... I really hope 10th is gonna change that massively, because it's kinda boring seeing all Lemans with the same turret (besides the odd Tank Commander)
Well, I watched most of yesterday's semi but had to stop early. Looked like leagues were running away with it. Guess something interesting happened after I turned off 😂
These games have convinced me to start some speed waaagh or beast snaggas next year after my custodes are finished. 😂 they just look so fun and fluffy.
honestly the commentary is the best part. especially spiders ork voices. could be a good idea to try to add some more sound affects for the movement phase like you have with the shooting.
Perhaps i slightly weird questions, but i was wondering if anyone knows where the head conversions for the raptors come from. I really like the beret and beard combination.
They look like the good old ikea kallax units. Got the glass doors and led lighting in them. I use them for a lot of my stuff, very versatile and usefull units.
Thanks for another awesome League season and final battle. Can't wait to see what 10th edition will look like. And can't stress enough again how great the new set looks
