Re: Fuel Tanks on the outside of the hellhounds: It was actually safer for flamer tanks to do this so that if the propellant ignited, it would burn relatively harmlessly on the outside instead of cooking the crew, and exploding the tank from the inside

I thought the banner allows you to ignore any and all modifiers to hit rolls, so would that not allow you to ignore dense cover modifier to shooting? Thx

At about 1:43:22 you rolled for grizzly feast. But had just worked out that Finial 1st banner was close enough to remove hit modifiers ... so no FNP either :)

about an hour in Tom charges stealth suits in cover. Are the ruins not defensible? do they not give 5/6 overwatch or + 1 to hit in combat ?

Wonderful batrep. It’s great to see the two best shooting armies go head to head. I think I’m gonna be putting my pathfinders in a devilfish or keep them I reserve because of those nasty mortar teams.

Mordian said he had to play out of his arse to beat the funny Guard list and he would have lost if the guard bought the obviously very very good leman russes rather than the medicore tank artillery. The mortars are the good artillery. I worry for the Tau in the rematch when Leman Russes are bought, not only would the hammerheads have to focus some firepower on the leman russes I think the leman russes would win the tank battle (particularly if the Tau don't have railguns). Without the tau hammerheads surviving till the end there would have been little of the tau left to reach turn 4. Great entertaining battle report. Think the Guard will be do very well against the Custodes as well.

Ghost keels are not the worst thing in the codex. They are just heavily overshadowed by better things for the same role. Stealth suits underrated? Those things are awesome for secondaries

with so much infantry, why not play dal'yth? light cover on all your fire warriors and stealth suits (which essentially means stealthsuits permanently have 2+ saves in range), and kroot get access to mont'ka or kau'yon

Death Korps Engineers have a 4+ save - when you fired the AP-1 Missiles at them that ignore cover - they would have had a 5+ save! Also - why didn't they throw an Acid Gas Bomb at those wretched Stealth Suits? Could have gotten some AP-3 action in there with Take Aim!
