Thank you for this! I am athyrotic due to PTC, taking levothyroxine and putting me into the Hashimoto's category. My endocrinologist has told me to use caution with some herbs like lemon balm and ashwaganda. I have used astragalus in the past with no apparent ill effects. I recently had my levothyroxine dose lowered to counteract the change in my TSH levels. Anyway, just wondering if you or anyone else watching have ever encountered this particular challenge before? Everything that I have researched deals with autoimmune modulators in folks who still have a thyroid!! Any research suggestions are appreciated!! Thank you again and keep on!! 🥰
I love your teaching skills. I need to research on how to grow Astragalus and Elecampane. I've tried and failed. The seed will germinate but then they die. I know it is me, but of so many herbs I've grown, these two and Marshmallow have been the most difficult. I think I'm trying too hard.
Thank you for making this video. I have just been researching and using Astragulus. I heard about this root and did not realize how many benefits were associated with it. I purchased a Pound and half of the Powder extract and add a couple of grams to Hot Water along with Ginseng and Ashwaganda. I added a packet of grape propel water sweetener and taste great….LOL. It taste like flavored Thera flu.

Merci Rosalee once again this is a really informative video! I also use astragalus extensively in making broths, as a décoction or simply I slip a couple of slices in my hot water thermos. I have noticed over the last year that it tends to make my bladder more active even hyperactive at times. When I stop using it seems to calm down. I guess I’m sensitive to it’s mild diuretic properties…

I use astragalus root for energy. I spent 30 yrs drinking coffee. When I finally quit I looked for a non caffeinated substitute. Astragalus is among a group of other teas I use for a boost in the mornings and afternoon slump

I heard a dr say that using this herb was not recommended for people with autoimmune issues such as MS, rheumatoid arthritis and several others. Is this your suggestion also?
I have seen astragalus benefit countless people with autoimmune diseases, so I wouldn't say that as a general statement. However, since everyone is different it's always a good idea to work with an herbalist with experience with autoimmunity conditions.
If I’m making your “Astragalus Chai” from your book with powdered Astragalus, how do I prepare the recipe? Will Astragalus combine well with other Adaptogens, such as Eleuthero (Siberian Ginseng)? I’ve noticed that Astragalus warms cold extremities, in the Winter, is this a common effect from this herb?
I found this video really interesting ! Thank you Rosalee 🫶🏽 I had a strange experience while breastfeeding last year and was suffering from pretty severe bouts of anxiety and heart palpitations. I made Elderberry syrup this time I added Astragalus root for the first time. It was also the first time using Astragalus. I took some of the syrup I made and with in a few hours of laying down that night, I experienced one of the worst panic attacks of my life. I threw out the batch I made and have been afraid to try astragalus since. I’m so curious if anyone has had a similar experience
You may have been deficient “yin”. She said not to use Astragalus if your Yin is deficient. I notice it makes me feel anxious (so I don’t use it either).
