Still the most comfortable headset I've ever worn, don't plan on even considering other options until these break (if they ever do) also can make your own EQs in the software
@@rileymay3556 my house is 2500ish square feet and my game room is upstairs, I can walk the whole house and it not drop off. I have many family and friends who have Astros and have never had drop out problems nor heard that they have had any problems. If you have any more questions I'm happy to answer them
I can't honestly think about getting another headset. I got these from best buy with a protection plan so I just swap out with a new pair and renew the plan every 22 months and I can't say anything but great things about it.
As someone who has had the Astro A10’s for like a year or 2 then switching to the A20’s for almost 2 years I have to say I absolutely love Astro headsets because of how simple it is setting it up and especially its comfort. The only problem I ever had with my wireless A20’s was when it made the noise where I had to charge it, I plug it in and it just turns off and then you have to turn it on. It keeps going like this but eventually like a min or 2 it would be all good. Overall I’ve been using Astro for a few years now.
The most UNDERRATED feature of the A50's is the volume rockers on the RIGHT ear cups. Having the ability to instantly shuffle between game and chat is a big deal. On the steel series, its on the left, this means that in an FPS, you have to let go of the keyboard and stand stationary either in a house, or open field (Last thing you want to do if you want to listen to footsteps or other peoples chat). I personally rock between game and chat volumes constantly. Mi holding out to replace my Gen 1's but common astro, these don't even have USB C. And I've dismantled my Gen 1 twice to install a new battery. I Dont want to have to have to do the same to these in 2 years time.
I've had many headsets in the past (many high end) and these won me over for all around use based on 3 things 1-the fact that you can just lay down the headset on the dock after your done to charge and 2- the comfort and adjustability is unmatched 3-out of the box is so balanced and barely needs adjustment in eq
The one thing i truly hate about the Astro is that there is no simple way of changing battery. Its welded into the headset. Ive now worn my gen 3 and loved them. A few months back i noticed the battery life drop to just 1 hour. Today it wont even stay on when plugged in with a cable. Purchasing a new battery and replacing the old one would be a huge benefit for the environment, but thats not possible. Not sure if i want to end up in the same situation with the gen 4, they are extremely pricey.
I’ve had the gen3’s for a good 5 years and no battery problems and now own the gen 4 and haven’t opened them lol but I love these headsets for the comfortable pads and replacements
ive replaced my battery in my gen 1's twice. Its satisfying to refresh the battery. Looks substantially easier on the newer generation headsets.. Have you ordered and replaced a new battery? They are easy to buy off amazon or ebay?? I agree it should be easier and have a plug and play access under the left ear cup. Be warned, I bought the arctis pro wireless and found them crazy uncomfortable, I then got VERY frustrated with the arctis volume rocker being on the left ear cup. In any FPS game, you have to stand stationary and let go of the keyboard to instantly adjust volume. (I returned them due to comfort, was unwearable after 30 mins). I didn't think my head was all that big hahaha
I have the A40 TR + Mix Amp, and been using them for 3 years and still impresses me to this day. I also recently bought a mod kit just to give it that ReNew treatment because the love I have for them. My brother bought the A50 (Amazing Headset) and I gotta say the A40 in my honest opinion is the better choice if you don't mind wired headsets.
Had mine for well over 2 years now. Hard disagree. Docking it in the docking station is annoyingly difficult. Battery time is bad. The pad on the headstrap comes off way too easly. The headset will randomly have no sound, have to unplug the docking station and replug it to fix. The headset will randomly have staticy sound, have to unplug and replug docking station to fix. Mic is good, sound quality is good but only after you get dolby atmos. It is not worth the price.
I have a older gen of A50's is it worth going to the latest and greatest? Also I use the head sets on my TV and ROKU, so I have to have a head set with a Optical In/Out, such as these, so if you say "no go with the BLAH BLAH BLAH headset", that's fine, just make you recommend something with an optical IN/OUT because I use these for more than just gaming. Bought the Astro A50 2kibtgs after release day ..the biggest issue is that they don’t ever sit correctly/firmly on the stand it comes with , which is important because that stand charges the headset .. super annoying
im about to be on my 3rd replacement set in about 4 months and I'm not hard on my product. 1st time what happened was the frame was tweaked and the top mod kit pad kept falling out and made it hard to charge with the frame being tweaked. 2nd time the mic itself wouldn't hold itself up after a month, now I'm about to reach out for the third time for the first issue happening again. their customer support is horrible too. I've loved astro's and have used them for over 10 years, unfortunately it just doesn't seem to be what it used to be. Be leery on purchasing their product
They are definitly NOT worth a price. I bought them 3 years ago, and i already had to swap them because of failure after 4 months. Left ear stoped working itself, microphone got loose, and plastic start peeling all over the place after just 4 months of casual use. They never droped i was treating them gently as i paid them a lot. I got replacement but they refuse to extend my warranty which is very bad since no one can garantee new headset will work fine. New headset i got had same peeling problem, so quality is pretty much garbage. Software is very bad, sometimes you put them to charge and they are no charging and small annoying issues. Positive side is they are very comfortable, sound quality is avarage and distance is pretty low compared to others. Battery will shrink over time so if you have longer session you will have to charge them. I would say definitly comfortable headset, never feel clamp that other headset might provide but they are not worth more then 60-80 euros in my opinion, and if i can rewind time i would definitly NOT BUY them again.
I have a pretty big head, does anyone else who believe they have a big head confirm on it's comfort? Also are the Gen 4 of these headphones still great in regards to battery and still having to put it on the doc or has anything changed and/or improved?

bad build quality, mic isent retractable anymore after a month, the top headband keeps falling off, the side buttons are way to sensitive, the charging dock doesent work when the pc is off.
@@chrisj5816 the charging base wouldn’t charge the headsets for one . They sound good but I got some $50 ones now that sound the same in my opinion. I would never buy these again

If they work, they’re great! If… Seems like they somehow crash all the time and I have to reset them again. They’ll be working fine,I turn of my computer, return next day and BAM, they’re not working again.
I love my A40s but I hate the cable. Also the ear cups on Astro products is what keeps me coming back. I have a little larger ears and the amount of cushion on the actual speakers is thick enough that I’m not feeling the cheese grater when I wear my headset
I've had mine for a few hours and to be honest I'm not impressed. The docking station is a rubbish design and the headset doesnt sit as easy as it could. The design feels kinda cheap considering the price. The design isnt as comfortable as other headsets. I don't have a big head but at full extension it feels a little tight on my head. The range is better than my last headset, but the software is kinda basic and dull. Also it made me do 2 firmware updates within a few hours WTF?!?!
Seems like once a year I need a new one, my last replacement was due to the headset not charging anymore, Astro themselves have no fixes for these bugs other then using older updates.
My favorite thing is how often they're like," seems your battery life has ended here's a new pair" like bro, this set is like 3 months old, stop selling flawed crap.
I hate that i can hear stuff in the backround like it doesnt block the sound out and it makes a buzzing noise at low volume for some reason and the mic is abnormally quiet
I have a hard time believing all these folks talking about audio quality.. I also bought a headset because of its awesome quality Triton....and IT SUCKED ASS !! It was ok ,but it was way from good 😂 Gaming headset are not made for Audio quality... however i think they should
The app doesn't even work to download firmware. Once you can't update firmware they become a $300, high end paper weight. I'll NEVER use astro anything ever again.
As someone who owns this headset, it has given me nothing but trouble. I have constantly been trying to fix them and it would seem the other 90% of people that got them are also trying to fix them. Don't waste $300 on them. Buy a cheaper headset that won't actually break after 3 weeks.

Love the headset. Only issue. I can't seem to bring down the chat volume without the entire game volume going down with it. If I hit the, I want the game volume up, my buddy's voice goes up with it???
I was very furious when the A50 lost the mixamp functions on the xbxsx and ps5 thanks to no optical in. So I was looking for new ones and went for the steel series arctic nova pro wireless (similar ovp). Well, lets judt say the steelseries feels like cheap trash compared to the A50s. So, I will keep my gen 3 until next gen A50 comes with UsB C.
They're definitely worth it keeps the sound from leaking out and you'll notice that your headphones sound louder immediately. They're also good for blocking out sounds around you in the room. Won't give you the same feeling as having true ANC but its as close as you'll get to ANC without actually having it.
It’s that fact they don’t charge and don’t sync with the base station. Amazing when they work and a nightmare once they don’t work. So dissapointed every time you want to play they won’t work they don’t charge they are a broken headset
I use for all fps, especially warzone. You'll have the biggest sound advantage guaranteed. My mate has a $400 razer headset and cant hear half the stuff I can with A50s
I had the most expensive Xbox 360 heading turtle beaches made and than years later I bought these a50 and I love them but wish I had a laptop to mess around with the EQ not the Dolby vision one
The best headset I ever had and it's Gen 3. I have been using it for 5 years now the only down side is the charging dock . I'm waiting for Gen 5 to come out .
Absolute trash! Build quality trash! Not only does the headband padding fall out, screws that have custom heads fall out. Very comfortable, but would not recommend
@@alexrodarte3606 Nothings better except maybe Steelseries Nova Pro or Penrose. If you're talking PC headsets they have things like the Sennheiser HD800 but nobody should be buying those for console gaming even if they are considered the best.
I personally think this headset's trash.. The headbands trash and twist and Bends within weeks of owning.. The middle thing with their logo on it on top of the head band constantly pops out to the point you have to literally use duct tape or something to tie around the top of the headband to keep it from popping out... After about a month they become so loose on your head because they stretch out they wobble all around... Let alone it's a nightmare to try and get them to sit in the Base station properly... I honestly don't understand what the hype is about these headsets as they are trash... For a lower price they'd be great or if they used better materials on the headband itself sure.. But sound quality doesn't mean c*** to me if the headset won't even stay on my head let alone look decent.. Looks kind of ridiculous when you have a headset going sideways across your head that that looks bent to s***....The voice/game sound ratio is a nightmare to get right...
@@faisalabdul4259 I used to use turtle beach 420X wireless headsets then I use the next turtle beach wireless that came out and Then I switched to these astros.. Now that I finally threw those in the trash I have no headset ... Was gonna give the new turtle beaches a try Turtle beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max ... Not really sure because of my opinion turtle beach have been trash since the 420X wireless those old ones with the USB stick the ones you actually could like walk across your house with them still on and hear the game unlike every pair they've had that came out since....

I don't know much about this kind of stuff but looking at them I'd give them a go simply because they're wired.. My Opinios based on Just got the A-50 and Previously owned the Nari Ultimate is: Nary Ultimate Sounds Great except a bit Boxed in ,Towards /////////A-50 Sounds Clearer to me . Nari Indeed has Vibration Feature but i endup Ceeasing the use of it Due to Head-Aches Obs: Effects May be Relaitve to Individuals ./it Feels heavey also way hevier then the A-50 and really Prefer the Light weight over Heavy Nari-Ultimate . - The Bad thing itsb that the A-50 Dont Seem to Allow Charging while Connected Directly it only Tranfers SOund without Charging it Simontaniously :( ///The Nary Ultimate is the Oposite of This Icampabilty ..
